Setting gear assy to drilling mode and drill will stop shaft from spining in same way as when you tightening drill bit in chuck

Gear just spined on rotor assy and I removed gear with no force with my fingers. I drilled hole in gear and assy and inserted rivet in that hole

@@powertoolsrepair It doesn't have to be badly soldered, maybe the previous owner treated the battery roughly (mechanical stress)? I've replaced a lot of Milwaukee M18 BMS, but I've never had such a failure (works-doesn't work).

Maybe you can tell why?

@@powertoolsrepair The battery adaptor is notorious for damaging the battery's health. and better leave the battery with two bars in the battery indicator.

For mine problem was striker and springs needed to be replaced. Try to run motor without hammering parts when tool is disassembled

@@powertoolsrepair okay I worked out what you meant. I disconnected the yellow and brown cables to the firing axis and now the wheel spins. Has the axis part gone?

@edd1628 now you know that problem is in axis part so you need to inspect it very well, try to trace how controller can see when tool is faulty and test that points

Place to get replacement parts depends on your location, if you are not in UK or U.S. you can try local DeWalt dealer

Do it have burning smell? If yes its motor, otherwise it can be gears

You can disassemble gear assy and pit assy with chuck in vise or you can cut sides of chuck to make it loose

I got them from aliexpress, but you car try local electronic parts shop

Its simple connection for cable, you can even flatten wire and put it inside - all is needed is good electrical contact

Thank you, I think about buying spot wellder and baterry charger for this type of repairs

@@powertoolsrepair don't buy the 50 pound amazon or eBay one I used it for a long while but had to upgrade I am nearly ready for a bigger step up again

I think I will go with cheaper one and then upgrade, because I will not repair many of batteries so don't want expencive gear for that

You can try to replace ball bearings for it, carbon brushes, revind it,but most of the time is cheaper to replace it

Hello, you can heat it with hot air soldering statin and remove it slowlly with scredriver or something similar, but sometimes you will damage pcb. Its just made to be very dificult to get it removed and PCB repaired
