As someone who works for a contact lens manufacturer, I can confirm - putting your contact lens back on your eye after it’s been on the mat at your gym is a great recipe for eye infection. Don’t do it.

I bought the Diamond MMA Athletic Cup Groin Protector that Icy Mike recommended in this video. It’s brilliant!!! He is totally right about the cup. It just fits properly and is way more comfortable than the old shock doctor I used to have. I also purchased extra jockstraps so I can cycle them through the wash as I train 5 days a week. In other words things like strikes to the arms and hands to create openings. Just for some context, I don't really want to give you my life story or anything, but Ive been doing martial arts for 22 years, in multiple disciplines, but I still try to take every opportunity I get to pick the brain of another martial artist. I was a track and field athlete; running (including passing a relay) and high jump was okay up to 4.50-5.00 degrees of myopia, but I could hardly find my step for a long jump or triple jump when I was a 3.00. Now I'm at 7.50 and I don't think it ever gets in my way during sparring or bag work, but it does render shadowboxing in front of a mirror useless. I also think you can learn something by watching others hitting the pads during your breaks, which I can't always do.

  • @tyleredwards9382

Everything is so personal but personally gloves which I spar in a lot fighting freedom training gloves which are genuine leather and can be bought in 18 Oz (99.99) so you don't kill anyone. I wear elite venom shin pads because they don't have the pull loop, they have overlaying thick straps that fit my huge calves and don't slip. They have decent padding but still allow you to feel checks and hard kicks so you don't get bad habits (99.99). I have bicycle brand cup that slip into the chonies with the front cup pocket cuz I hate jock straps. My head gear is ringside which I don't think is my favorite but I don't use it often unless I'm in an amateur fight that requires it. Lastly I use pro boxing hand wraps which are just cheap and fine. My MMA gloves I use for sparring are the open hand 7 0z sanabull gloves f cuz they have some padding over the knuckles but you can still sneak em into chokes and grab legs and arms (29.99)

mouth guards i went to guardlabs cost me 120 bucks and they do everything there and u get it back in a week to 2 weeks 3d scan perfect fit and if it damages and wears down with in a year they replace it for free

@@hard2hurt Well there is a few reasons for the high price:
      1. The Gloves are using Technology Foam that is designed to absorb dynamic pressure, unlike most other brands
      2. The Products feature an internal strapping system that puts your fist in a way more natural positiom than others do
      3. You can mold them to the shape of your hand by heating the glove with a hairdryer
      4. The Glove supports your hand to a level that doesnt require you to wear handwraps
      5. The Brand doesnt have a large production company behind it so they can't mass produce.
      6. They just use really high quality materials and everything is "basically" custom made.
I think that kind of justifies the price to a certain point.

Umm... maybe every once in awhile? If you're an MMA fighter, occasionally. I don't really know what the purpose is for anyone else. Either develop power in bag gloves or develop range and technique bare knuckle... not sure what the 4 ozs in training are for.

What's wrong with those title gloves? I like the leather title pro style gloves. 40$ for leather gloves is hard to beat.

Icymike - In a cage match up between Sensei Seth Vs Armchair Violence who will win?? and why?? can you do a prediction video?

    • @hard2hurt
      @hard2hurt  Před 2 lety

Armchair Violence dives for a heel hook with literally zero setup. Seth prances away. Armchair Violence gets to his feet, sticks his hands straight out like Frankenstein's monster and plods forward. Sensei Seth throws a kick that rocks Armchair Violence, but doesn't jump on him for the finish. This sequence will repeat until somebody falls down accidentally and the other one falls on top of them by accident as well. Everyone loses. Can I do commentary?

I got stubby fingers and fat hands, so the curved (non) mma gloves you showcased are my favorite. When I wear the standard mma gloves it looks like vienna sausages creeping out of a gardening glove.

Fair enough. They do have this unrefined build to them even their more pricey pairs are still garbage for heavy bag work. For that I use Reyes. But I fell in love with their 12 oz gel wrap sparring gloves when it's time to get partner work in. Very. Appreciate the quality material you put out brother. Best wishes to you and your fam
