I have that car and on long trips it does 37 to 39MPG. I have the W211 with 6cy diesel and better gearing and it gets 42 sometimes. Best cars ever.

I have the same car e320diesel makes 12 km/liter
320 is a different engine
I daily drive 2014 E250 Bluetec and get 48-50mpg on highways. An absolute joy.
Too bad those cars never made it to the US

I also have an E class diesel (as you can see on my channel) it is a W212 200 CDI MY 2010, on long trips the consumption are about 47 mpg if I drive 70-80 mph.
If I drive 90 mph it goes up a bit, but not so much, around 39/40 mpg.
Sounds great, I'll check it out. We don't have the 200 cdi models in the usa

2010 CDI are good on gas but notorious for being unreliable. Early cam shaft failure also V6 not as cool and reliable as a straight 6 engine.
I get the same on my 1996 e300d , n I have 325K on my odometer. I experience best gas mileage when I put on better quality tires n also right after an alignment. A tune up helps but with great factory recommended tires n alignment you cut thru the air n you keep rolling on by just tapping on the gas pedal 🤠
These diesels were made for economy.

I have a bad fuel leak with mine and it still seems to get around 29-30 mpg

I have a 1980 240d manual. Love it for old school tech. Slow. - I always wanted one of these w210 cars. I’d like to avoid any kind of gadgets and electronic issues. I’m not on to Mercedes diesels for the glam. I like the era of cars that were mechanically superior to other cars. Are there any crazy things on this car that would cost a fortune to repair? Computers? Sensors? Transmissions? Air ride junk? Rust? Thanks
I don't have any rust on mine, since it is a California car, but there are a bunch of electronic things, that could cost some money if they fail. Btw, no air ride on the w210 cars. Just the wagon (s210) has air ride in the back.
@@CarGhost wouldn’t it be nice if we could come up with solutions for the crazy electronic problems? Wire in old school fuses and relays and bypass the “junk”.

Maybe in America you dont know the atmospheric 300d but everywhere in the World its like that
