    Do you think there's a reason why so many mythological figures are children of Zeus? Like, maybe, their cults were originally separated from one another, so, when they merged to form the main Greek mythology, they ended up with multiple "sons and daughters of Zeus"? Or, like, their original father was long forgotten, and, since they HAD to have had a father, they just thought "oh yeah, the father is Zeus"?

    • @promo8140
      @promo8140 Před 2 lety +161

      From my research, the number of children (illegitimate or otherwise) the gods produce equates to their strength. Zeus is the most powerful, followed by Poseidon who also conceived many children (just not as many as Zeus)! 😅😅😅

    Leto was a titaness, not a goddess. It was Apollo's voice that led his mother to the island of Delos where she could give birth, and after Artemis was born, she became a midwife for her mother and helped deliver her twin brother.

    • @sonofcronos7831
      @sonofcronos7831 Před rokem +10

      Titans are gods, they were not a different species. Leto was worshiped along side her sons, she had the same appearance as other gods, was imortal, so she was a goddess, she was a titaness because she was a heavenly goddess (she was a grandaughter of Ouranos), but not a Olympian (only descendants of Cronus are Olympians). Also sometimes, especially in earlier poetry, it was the island of Delos itself that called Leto, because the island was the goddess Asteria, sister of Leto who took the form of the island to escape Zeus.
