I grew up on a 5000 acre farm in United Kingdom were the main tractor was diesel Ford 5000 super major from 1965 manual and select o speed then dual power on the Ford force 1968, Its great to watch someone who’s carful and precise in everything they accomplish, Your about the only person who I can find on you tube working on any ford 5000, 🇬🇧🇮🇪

I'm watching these videos because my grandfather had a Ford 5000 when he passed last year my mom wouldn't let me keep it instead she sold it and now the guy that has it says the only way I'll get it back is if I get him one exactly like it in the same condition that's going to be next to Impossible

Sorry to hear about your Grandfather, and what happened to his 5000. Hopefully someday you can get it back!

@@marktolman6037the hardest part is till the day I get it back I don't know if this guy's going to do the proper maintenance on it like you said happened to that one where the knuckle was rubbing because there was no grease my grandfather took extreme care of all his equipment

@@mikesmotorsportsgamingrevi4814 Its always a hard thing to see, unfortunately most tractors are used as tools to get a job done, and nothing more. Hopefully that fellow who has it now will keep up maintenance. One good thing, parts are plentiful.

i got my grandpas old 4000 recently. it is in much worse condition than yours. but i was wondering if i sould look in to doing a valve ajustment like this?

Nice tractor. How does it run? Is it noisy in the top end? I adjusted my valves because of the valve train noise, quite clattery because they wear after alot of use and need to be readjusted.

@@marktolman6037 i recently changed the oil so it runs pretty well now. but it has a bunch of old greacy oil on the valves and rockers idk if that is a good thin or bad. i also need to replace the oilpan gasked

@@lars3462 I would recommend running it for a while, maybe add some marvel mystery oil to the oil, then change it again. Use the tractor for a couple hours and see what happens. Double check all your fluids, hydraulic as well. Alot of times, when something sits, there are a whole lot of little problems that spring up before it can be relied upon for regular service. A valve adjustment could be done after you get it running well, because that's a routine maintenance job you'll have to do every so often anyways.

Hello, very nice restoration 👍 I am from France and I have just bought a ford 4000. Do you have a good address to find mechanical parts? Thank you so much

Thanks! Nice find, love the 1000 series Fords. I buy from Yesterdays Tractor, Tractor Parts ASAP, and Steiner Tractor Parts. All based in the US. Not sure if they deliver globally, but it's a good place to start! Ebay may be a friend as well ...
