This is tough to pick a winner here. I gotta go SBGL simply because David has had a few games with them, so the experience advantage goes there. HOWEVER, what I've seen of Seraphon so far they're scary

@@BattleshockWargaming Really good battle, the healing on the dragons is a nice counter to this seraphon list, especially when you survive on 1 wound! I havn't ran back the tape but I could swear over 80% of the D3 mortals from Kroak were a 3, I didn't see a 1 at all, crazy dice rolls!

Glad SBGL won! Great game! Well done to both. Not a big fan of hero phase Seraphon damage. Also, don't take out Neferata as some other battleplans allow you to redeploy 9 away.
Did the vampire have any serious damage output for t1 though? 14" move with no bonuses isn't even quaranteed t1 charge and killing couple screens isn't much to cheer. Then potential double
54:04 After asking on multiple forums, and thanks to the french translation of the seraphon book, it appears that you roll a dice for each unit at 12" of all of your nodes. Which is even stronger, you maybe could have killed the other dragons. Also, you should have cleansed on your T1 from the troglodon, you would have killed the blue dragon before he even had a chance to heal 😂
But isn't it possible that the french version is badly translated (it happens often 😅)? For me it's more logical to follow the first official version (English). Anyway I hope they played it the right way because it's sounds really strong if you are right (this list is already pretty strong in my opinion, even if they lost at the end). Hope they make it clearer later!
@@jyx7400 the English version is roll a die for EACH enemy unit within 12" of ANY cosmic node
@@DemandredTaim yeah, so for me it means that if your unit is in reach of 1, 2, or 30 nodles, you always throw one dice. (which is not what it's seems to means in the french version, according to the first comment) but maybe I didn't understand what "Death to Mu" meant :)
@@jyx7400 The debate I had were on english forums, but a french player showed me the french version to clarify. I wasnt talking about the number of dice per unit, which is always one even if the unit is in 12" of multiple nodes. I was saying that you should throw a dice for every unit in 12" of all of your nodes, which means if you happen to have multiple nodes on the table, cleanse the realms will deal damage to all units ! I use to think that you can damage unit around one node only, but it seems like you deal damage around all of your nodes. Am I clear enough ?
@@jyx7400 Also, I read everywhere that that kind of list is strong, people are afraid, but every battle report on youtube is a loss for the seraphon player.... Which is sad considering that it's probably our strongest list

You couldn't have known it at the time but had you done Cleanse The Realms in turn 1 you very likely would've killed that 1st zombie dragon with your Saurus, which would've been huge for freeing you up the rest of the game.
Thats a good idea for turn one to try and push that last couple mortals through. I didnt realize at the time that 10 warriors wouldnt have the output to finish off the dragons.

I just played my first game with soulblight. They are so fun. Loving the vampire lord on zombie dragon.
Don't you mean Vaempires and Zombys? Don't forget AOS only exists so they can copyright the names of the creatures Tolkien popularized more agreessively, that's why the Old World died, except it didn't. Grudges never die.

We have a magical box full of tokens we have bought throughout the years, most of them have come from GW when you order data cards they will send a sheet of tokens.
I played my first game of AoS last week. My first army is Soulblight Gravelords, and I was playing against Seraphon, funny enough. My opponent got first turn and used an artillery dinosaur to snipe my vampire lord on foot before I ever even got to use him. So I'm very curious to see how you're supposed to play vs dinosaurs.
I think david just went really agro. Seems like the way to go against Seraphon. Just try and break through the castle and stop the summoning.

Those are actually games workshop markers from back in the day! Out of production, which is sad because they are perfect IMO

Kinda like the dinos for this one, LOB is really good into high rend armies or those that want to get stuck in, but seraphon are a lot more tricksy and just have mortal wound output for days
The healing of vampires has gotten quite good, helped the gravelords hang in this one. Hope you enjoyed the video :)
@@BattleshockWargaming id personally recommend swaping the saurus for raptadon chargers, they just do way higher damage than most units in the book, which can help finish off more stubborn units.

Going for the SBGL. But I would love to see a Kroak Vs Nagash battle. Nagash is pricy, but I think he has playability with the right list.
A battle for magical supremacy would be cool. I also think Teclis vs Nagash would be a fun matchup!

Question, did you heal with your shooting attacks also? And did you add 1+ attack to shooting attacks? :) Loved the game❤
The rule for hunger states "each time this unit fights" so I did not heal from shooting. I will have to reference Legion of Blood to see if extra attacks apply to missile weapons :) Thanks for watching and commenting!
The extra attacks only apply to melee weapons. 2 breath attacks would be awesome though.
Deadly terrain doesn't affect deployed units. Just set up. As in units that enter the game after deployment
Deadly states when you set up or move within 1 inch of the terrain you have to roll for deadly. We have interpreted this to mean that deployed units would still have to roll. Can you point us to a rule that says otherwise?
I reread it and learned something.
You are right.
Core rules say set up is a reserve units during deployment.
So i always read that as wording "set up" only reserve units.
But in the battleplans.
Under deployment.
Players take turns alternating deployment.
But then says units must be set up wholly within territory.
Keyword bingo was getting me.

Seraphon. Love the way starborne play. Mass skinks as chaff, and all the damage output is in mass mortal wound nukes in psychic powers.
I agree i thought they were great fun to play. Lots of tools and great movement and damage output. I just need some saurus guard to fill out the list

How did the zombie dragons heal all the way up? The Hunger got changed to max out at 6 wounds. I play SBG so I wanna make sure I'm not missing something.
He healed flat 6 over 2 rounds of combat, so was able to heal back to or close to full :)

I have a friend who hides Kroak castle in a corner and screens every inch around him. Super unfun to play against. Some armies just cannot deal with the MW spam and just auto lose.
It can be a tough castle to beat, and agreed that there are some armies that cannot deal with it. We try to make lists that compete well with each other to feature some of the more competitive builds that represent tournament style lists. NOT a list you should take to a friendly game haha
I'm cheering for the Soulblight Gravelords. I want them strong for my grudge match against them when my Soulblight friend and I get to play AoS again. My Duardin Frostbeards will prevail!
Neither side disappointed. Seraphon's mortal wound poke might even be stronger than Tzeentch's. But the Soulblight Gravelords decent toughness and Wound/Troop regeneration overcame the sustained spellcasting damage of the lizardfolk. Well done. I've got a hell of a fight coming for me in the future with my buddy. :D
I hope you have an amazing grudge game with your friend. there is nothing better than getting together with your friend to roll some dice

should be in the battle traits section for legion of blood
"If a friendly LEGION OF BLOOD VAMPIRE HERO is within 3" of any enemy units, it is bloodthirsty. If a friendly LEGION OF BLOOD VAMPIRE HERO is more than 3" from all enemy units, it is empowered.
Add 1 to the Attacks characteristic of melee weapons used by a unit that is bloodthirsty. Add 1 to casting, dispelling and unbinding rolls for a unit that is empowered."

I think it absolutely was the correct choice to give Seraphon first. Getting doubled by them would have been too damaging and Soulblight have really good heals now.
I've been a Soulblight player since the last book came out. I'm happy with the update. It, like the rest of the battletomes that have been released since december, is way stronger than the previous battletomes though. We haven't had this much powercreep in third edition previously. The difference in power level is significant.

I have have raptadon chargers all painted up and ready to go for this very reason. next time i need to push damage through those chargers are coming out
@@BattleshockWargaming I'm sure someone has parsed out the numbers for CPP to damage (including Cleanse) and I just need to find it, but I do know Chargers are highest army point to dmg ratio at the moment.
Though that is including Hunter synergy. Need to find some data for Hunterless Chargers and see if it's worth over mixed.
I am waiting for when someone does the meme list of the hero on Aggradon leading an army of nothing but Aggradon Lancers (or nearly so, maybe like 1 Slann hero and/or the new Salamander as an exception)
Will it be strong? Likely not
But it will succeed at rule of cool.

I don't know of another army that does that kind of thing. Tzeench seems more buff/debuff focused with it's powers.
Lumineth do it as well with Teclis. Ranged MW is very oppressive.

I played vs Seraphon a lot since one of my regular opponents used to play only that. They are indeed "pretty good" ;) I haven't played vs them with the new book though.
They are still "pretty good" hopefully they dont get the S2D treatment and get nerfed before their book is properly released
Surely the saurus warriors in turn 1 could have gotten all of their bites in if you had of piled in utilising the 3”?
Because of the 32 mm base and the bite range only being 1 inch they are always going to struggle to get more that 5-6 bites in at any one time.

noticed u applied ur command trait to hit a unit on 2's to a summoned unit of sarus. you select upto D3 units before the 1st battle round that was clutch as u would have missed 2 bites so only dealing 3 wounds not 9 and also not healing for 6. good game otherwise but that was abiggy for flipping the game
This was actually a unit that came from reserve :) the ability dies not specify on the battlefield, so was able to pick them. Apologize for the confusion, because he summoned a few Saurus units as well :)

Going for seraphon since I am just starting this army as well. However I do love Nefi and the legion of blood. If the rules weren't so mediocre in the last battletome I probably would have started a soulblight army just for legion of blood. 8:41

@@sururu6 I think you missed the part where I said "last battletome". The one that came out in 2021 when vyrkos was the only good subfaction. That's when I was thinking about starting soulblight.

joking aside, saurus may be a bit too bad outside coalesced factions. melee chikens are prety decent and melee terodactils are ok too.
I dont know how any army without tons of healing doesnt just melt turn 1 & 2 to the seraphon.
It's so idiotically broken. Also simply not fun to play against unless you field a specific faction with a specifically tailored anti-kroak list. Which is lame, in my opinion.
The list is very good, but is beatable, as displayed in this video. Neither of these lists are casual, and can be difficult to tackle. We hope you enjoyed the two clashing against each other! Thanks for watching our channel :)

SBGL gonna win cause op healing lets see if serophon can outnuke the beroes and withstand the hordes. I really Hope the Hunger gets nerfed maybe only the Vampirc Hero should heal the damage they do and Not the mount they should Feed them regularry😂 and Point changes are made 😄 what a Close call on those dragons.
The mounts were well fed with game because Michael kept throwing waves of saurus warriors at them lol. There were some clutch rolls to keep those dragons alive and causing havoc, otherwise this game could have been very different.

hmm u are mistaken, new seraphon book is reaally bad everything besides kroak is so bad, vampire one is the op book lol so they have won like 6 tourneys in 2 weeks
@@sururu6I think you are mistaken. Seraphon was just released and had a whole new model range update so people are still painting and haven’t optimized their lists yet. People have had SBGL painted for many many editions that’s why they are hitting the tabletops faster.
They are both good books, we do not have a clear representation of competitive Seraphon as their actual tome release has not yet happened. That being said, Gravelords are quite good, and could easily have lost without the amazing healing and dice rolls I had. Thanks for watching our channel :)
@@BattleshockWargaming I mean, when you can cast more then 6 spells, 5 out of which you can not dispell, if you are not khorne, than you get enough cpp to bust that d6 mw to everyone in the radius even if troglodon dies you can just teleport as a heroic action without rolling it and still blast everything in sight
The point of the game is to be balanced, I can't see how an army like Ironjawz or hedonites or flesheaters can do just anything about this
The point being you don't need your opponent doing anything, it is not a punishment for a mistake of some kind, it's just a bucket of mw's and if you don't have any defense, well then too bad picked the wrong army
@@chlorarthur9638 I agree, but after having played in a RTT just this weekend, I can attest to the power of a VLoZD with cloak of mist and shadow. It was able to stay up in almost every game and take a lot of punishment due to hunger.

VLOZD is amazing right now. Damage output is crazy high and their healing just makes them very difficult to shift. The Army as a whole is really fun to play as well lots of skellys running around refusing to die is awesome.
