2nd ride - Doubling the non stop distance

- This is my second time out on the bike after a 5 month break. Last time I did 15 miles, this time I wanted to double that. So I met Paul, and rode an anticipated 31 mile circuit. It kinda didn't work out quite like that, but was still 30 miles. In total, on the day, I did just over 50 miles. Next time I'm looking at a ride of 120 miles total, 60 miles non stop each way. Paul didn't bring a camera with him, so the conversation is all one sided...

Almost there JW.. thanks for watching.. 👌👌
Brilliant the boys are back on their bikes 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧I was just thinking when you said about tents did you know there is a tent that you can erect in 3 seconds it’s called reactive outdoor tent just for your information
I'll have a look at that tent, gotta be said, three seconds is proper quick. Thanks for watching.. 👌👌
Looks like a good and enjoyable ride. Just a mention to those watching at times we see that we are casting a shadow in front of him and his bike., That means that the low sun is directly behind us and as such any vehicle wanting to turn out on us from the nearside or across us coming the other way will be looking into the direct sunlight may mean that we become invisible. So be aware that if one is casting a long shadow in front there is a danger one may not be seen no when looking in the direction of direct sunlight.
Another by the by that could help, visors with tinted drop downs always seem to be grey and I don't like looking through a grey mist if you know what I mean. If the sun is in ones eyes then even a grey visor doesn't do the trick 100%. What I do is wear sunglasses but also I place a strip of electrical tape, pref., black along the top and bottom of my normal visor and that enables me to pull it down or leave it up and it will block out any of the sun from actually hitting the eyes. Its acting like a baseball cap . That means that I have 100% visibility unrestricted and protecting my eyes from direct sunlight. Try it and you will see that it does work. Done that since the 60's.
Some of my daily rides are only 30/40 miles but some are 100 to 150 miles in 5/6 hours. I like to ride by the rule, ride one hour stop for 10/15 mins. and have several tea or snack breaks. Like a safari meal, starters or brew in one place, main course at next then afters later etc. That way I don't over eat and its comfortable. I never ever consume alcohol as the slightest amount can alter ones cognitive behaviour and on a bike being so vulnerable it doesn't make any sense to drink and ride.
Thanks for the advice. Thank you for watching.. 👌👌👌👌
Enjoyed that fella's,nice route you remembered there Ray,pity the comms were'nt linked tho,
Ride Safe Mr B \m/
I was doing alright there Baza till the road closures started. 😂😂😂😂
The Bickerton poacher is a good little camp site Ray , and a good pub for grub
Made a note that matey, looks like a good site.. 👌👌👌👌

I ride a ZZR1400. I do try to use it during the winter months but it's not always possible. I do find that when the better weather arrives I have an aching butt after about 60 minutes. I build up the stamina until by the time we get to June & July I can do 160 miles at a time...
I had the1400 for about 8 years, loved it, but I find the 1200 more confortable, and within its limits, the handling suits me better. But, high mileages need practice and time out on the road. I ride all year round too. I avoid snow and ice these days is all. Thanks for watching. 👌
Tell Paul to buy the Suzuki 1050 Vstrom. I think this will suit his needs perfectly. Honda Africa twin and the Transalp is also dogged with starting issues.
Next time I see him Billy. Thanks for watching.. 👌👌👌👌
Good to see you out and about Ray.
It IS feeling good to be riding again.. thanks for watching. 👌👌
Good to see you two back together again ( where did you get that blue sky from and can you send a bit of it eastward?)😊
Haven't seen that sky since Steve.. it was good, the usual chat rather than talking to no bugger. 😂😂😂😂
