I have had many words to say about this channel and “safe space” is the perfect word. Thank you so much for making me feel comfortable in the horror community. I don’t have to watch gruesome and terrifying horror movies if I’m not comfortable with it. You make me feel comfortable watching your videos. So, thank you for that. You’re amazing. 👍😁
I absolutely agree that this channel feels very safe and welcoming. My relationship with horror isn't very practical; I love so many of the concepts that are done in horror, but I don't enjoy the anxiety that comes from actually watching it. However, you are one of my FAVORITE channels because I love listening to you discuss it. I found myself wondering why I would enjoy listening to someone talk about movies and shows that I have no intention of watching, but I realized it's because you don't shame anyone for how they enjoy media. You have your own opinions, but you never make others feel bad about their own. Thank you for being such an amazing content creator!!
I don't get anxiety, I cringe inside because something always ends up being bad about the movie or just plain not scary.
@lex wow it's like we're the same person lol
“if you’re not scared of cars like that” LMFAOO idk why but that made me laugh so hard fr 😭😭
"But decommissioning the clone fails, so..."
Me: Ah yes, they'll have to learn to live together and deal with that philosophical struggle of what makes them real.
"...the court orders a dual to the death."
Me: 👁️👄👁️
Every time I see Noomi Rapace’s name attached to a horror film, I have to see it. She was amazing in LAMB, Rupture, Prometheus and The Monitor.
I grew up in the town Our Father takes place in… my mom and Aunt both used Doctor Clein and we have family friends who have since found out their child is sibling #96… thank goodness my mom and aunt switched fertility doctors prior to insemination… so horrifying and disgusting
Honestly I love that you have your annual comfort rewatches too. Makes me feel less like a crazy person!
Cujo is horrifying and to me. The thought of being stuck in a hot car with your child, no food or water and then your child gets sick?!?!? Noooo that just makes me feel a lot of feelings lol. It is a great movie though.
He didn't get sick, he was starting to die from dehydration. I felt more bad for Cujo because it wasn't his fault, he got rabies from a bat, and no one noticed (but I love dogs and I hear St. Bernards are huge goofballs and the dog actors couldn't do some of the scenes because they were way too friendly).
@@lainiwakura1776 yes I know it was a overarching idea of a child needing medical attention. I've seen the movie multiple times and read the book.
I love War of the Worlds. That scene with the panicking people & the vehicle always terrifies me. It's too realistic!
I absolutely loved No One Gets Out Alive!! I was kinda shocked I didn’t see more about it, and makes sense now since I loved The Ritual too
i know a lot of people probably already said this but season 4 of stranger things has STRONG horror elements but it's not an anthology so you would have to watch the first 3 seasons to know what's going on, you could try giving season 1 a try and see if it interests you because i think the new season is incredible.
I’ve watched season 1 and just didn’t really get into it!
Book of Eli is such a unique movie, love that it has someone huge like denzel in it.I love apocalypse and dystopian movies.
Thanks for mentioning you won't be alone, watched it last night and loved it. I think the near SA scenes are all pretty similar, it ends very quickly or barely starts. The animal horror, as I recall, mostly happens off screen besides the "feedings" lol
When you were explaining Duel, I haven't even seen the film but when you said "Much like The Art of War".... I KNEW you were going to say that!!! You're so good at this! Love watching your channel!
You won't be alone, one of the best movies from this year, its so unique im happy to see you have the same perspective on this one.
I saw "Nobody Gets Out Alive" and I think it's a great movie that mixes 2 horrors: Being an immigrant without documents and being an object of sacrifice... Christine is a classic, but a good movie by John Carpenter, which is a bit forgotten, is: "Town of the Damned" (1995).
Well when you enter a country illegally...
Town of the Dammed is that the film where all the women became pregnant at the same time and all the children are weird and creepy it's got Christopher Reeves in it if it is I don't like that film it gives me the creeps
Christine was one of my favorites as a kid. I'll forever be grateful to my mom for our weekend scary movie marathons in the 80's and 90's. I'm a car girl too so Christine was a good one for me. Mom introduced us to Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Changeling, The Entity, Witch board, The Omen, Amityville, Deepstar 6 (love an underwater movie of any kind), Alien, Salem's Lot, It's Alive, It Lives, Night of the Living Dead, CHUD, Piranha, The Fog, Audrey Rose, The Exorcist, Silver Bullet, Dreamscape, Cats Eye, Trolls, Dolls, Creepshow, Twilight Zone the movie, Cocoon (more sci Fi but loved these movies) there is just so many.
This is the first time probably since I've known of the movie's existence that I've seen anyone mention The Entity, and I'm just so happy😂 Such great effects for the time
I love Mrs. doubt fire
It definitely is a safe space! I fins a lot of judgment in some communities for what you do and don't watch, and here just feels so welcoming and lovely 🖤🖤
i'm so glad to hear your thoughts on No One Gets Out Alive!! i loved this movie, and was wondering why no one was talking about it. I watched it during my October Halloween Marathon last year, and it was relatively new at the time. Underrated for sure!!
Don't worry, I haven't seen Christine either, so you weren't alone ! Definitely on my list to check out now. I checked my Letterboxd, and I watched No One Gets Out Alive on October 9th, 2021, which I think was shortly after it was released on Netflix.
I watched War of The Worlds recently too! I've always loved it.
Okay... So I FINALLY checked out Gonjiam (since you've talked about it at least a hundred times by now... Ha) and I DID like it! Many a times I don't like the cheesiness of overtly cutesy Korean banter in these kind of movies but this one was a fun watch with some actually weird scenes.
The third season of Love, Death & Robots was lovely ESPECIALLY Jibaro (the last short) was great!
The John Carpenter movie reminded me of this HILARIOUS Hindi movie called Taarzan: The Wonder Car which was clearly 'inspired' by the original one you watched😁😁
Christine is my favorite movies tied with Ghostbusters. Watched it since it was first released on VHS when I was 4-5 years old. The Thing not doing so well in theaters has been seen as why he went so light with the kills from being gory. Did Christine after his Firestarter was cancelled because it was going to cost too much.
Martin Sanchez owns a screen used Christine and is at the Petersen car Museum. A film promo car still around that was used to promote the film. Bill Gibson's Christine restored from parts of the film cars. His uses the engine in the Show Me scene when she fixes herself. Christine was also in the Hollywood Christmas Parade in 1983 on tv with Keith Gordon Alexanda Paul & John Stockwell here on CZcams.
You're the only horror channel i watch regularly - you're a queen
No one gets out alive was definitely a trip at the end 😳 thanks for the recommendation!
Christine is so underrated, really good movie!
The community you have created here is so lovely and welcoming! I’ve followed other creators where I’ve been attacked for suggesting certain videos or giving my opinions, but I never feel like that here! That is a credit to you 💜
I watched The Holy Mountain for the first time in May and I absolutely loved it, I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on it for this long
YOUR POSTS MAKE MY DAY EVERY SINGLE TIMEEEEE
I love apocalyptic movies as well. I for some reason find them comforting even though I absolutely would have no will to live in those situations. I will put on an apocalyptic movie to help me relax and get sleepy, The Day After Tomorrow and 2012 are favorites for that.
My dad was a mechanic and really wanted to watch this movie: Christine. It was honestly the one that got me into horror when I was like seven or eight. It paired up nicely with American Graffiti. I'm not sure why it was ditched for the movie but I heard the book is based on a car that's haunted by a ghost similar to our house is haunted by a ghost but the movie went in the direction of a possessed car.
Yes! I watched No One Gets Out Alive this past Halloween with a group of co. workers. It was the only money in the line up that we all watched without talking. It was great. But I do believe it did come out in 2021 😊
I appreciate your effort in making these videos,Sarah:) so comforting
Yessss, I've been so excited for this video! We have completley opposite horror opinions but your videos are so fun to watch, very relatable and super entertaining. ❤
this channel, like i'll always wait for your new monthly watch. your taste of movie matches mine! love you keep reviewing gurl!
!!! So excited to watch
Your channel has always been a safe space for me! Watching your videos is literally a comfort thing for me at this point. Keep being you❤️
I also looove and am comforted by disaster movies and I've never met another person who gets that, I always feel very seen on your channel lol
Excited for your thoughts on Dashcam! Also we have the same shirt!
as someone who loves horror and doesnt really have boundaries unless its one of those movies that revolve around rape scenes, i think your boundaries on horror are totally valid and i really value your opinion. i also have those moments where im in a sort of horror slump and i tend to watch lots of cutesy movies, doesnt make us any less horror fans
Christine was one of my favourite movies when I was a child. I still love the score. I don't know if I'd still like the movie now, but you make me feel like rewatching it. I don't comment very often, but I've been following this channel for 4 years and I like it more and more. Thank you!
You’ve been a safe space since before you made this channel. 💗 thank you for all you do Sarah!! Forever subbed!!
Planning on going to see The watcher this weekend and hope to see your future review of it.
looking forward to your review of Crimes of the Future! i'd never seen any Cronenberg before watching Videodrome last month and now I'm absolutely hooked!!
was just recommended your channel on my home feed and love it. great page
Don’t feel bad abt like not seeing enough horror, maybe you don’t see as much as some other CZcamsrs but like your videos are still great and I got a few rly good recommendations from this video
I know what you mean about needing a break from horror sometimes, after a short break I rewatched The Nun, all The Conjuring and Annabelle films last month.
i love your channel so much and you've shown me so many amazing movies thank you so much.
I finally watched Triangle, after seeing your recommendation of watching it, and I loved it!
Yay 🙂 nice vid to listen to within the background as I get myself ready before heading out in the world
I love your train of thought when it comes to film 🙂
I watched Christine for the first time a couple of years ago and was surprised by how good it was. I also did not watch it because it didn't appeal to me, but i'm really glad I did!
Cujo is actually a good movie though, and book.
Cuuuuuujo is Legend!!!!!!!!
This is just a weird current obsession for me but I would love to hear your take on Drag Me to Hell and possibly even other sam raimi stuff! You have the most soothing voice and every time you post something it gives me so much serotonin
I remember watching No one Gets out Alive the week of release. Only because I heard about the creature from a blooding disgusting article. I want to say it was early this year. I didn't care for it so I don't really remember. The creature scenes were my fav part.
I agree. Our Father is a great documentary I was upset and emotional because I was shocked of what happened.
Omg i cannot believe i forgot dual exists. THANK YOUUUU 🙏
I watched Christine for the first time recently too! I was so shocked by how good it was!
Love ❤️ your shirt Sarah
Not sure if you have or not, but I recommend you read War of the World by H.G. Wells. It's a very good read, but it will be different from the movie adaptations you're probably used to. I, myself, am not a fan of any of the film productions of the book over the years, but to each their own. The reading of the book over the radio back in the day actually freaked people out; talk about real-world panic that the apocalyptic event has come to pass. Hope you enjoy the read! :)
There is a 2019 miniseries on Netflix that is much more like the book than anything I have ever seen and it really is quite good. It's the only time I've seen the story where they did not bring it into modern times.
@@MsBluheart Well, I'm glad it's period accurate; I'll have to check it out! Thanks! :)
I love Another Earth! Beautiful movie.
Love uuu
I remember watching No One Gets Out Alive when it came out on Netflix back in October! I really liked it :)
I agree, N.O.G.O.A was the best Netflix Horror for some time. Kept me intrigued till the end. The lead girl was terrific.
I’m actually shocked and kinda sad you don’t watch stranger things! Season 4 has amaaaazing horror elements and I feel like you would love it.
Yes! I loved this season!
Agree, this season's been amazing so far.
Season 4 has me curious but honestly it’s a waste of time unless she wants to do it for views. Stranger things hasn’t been good since season 2
@@Myaccount923 it really just depends. season 3 has been my favorite personally. it depends on what you like
She seems to like to watch stuff that is straight horror, not things with humor or romance or other elements. That’s why she doesn’t like 80s stuff I guess, and it doesn’t get more 80s than Stranger Things
The novel No One Gets Out Alive is one of my favorites. Some very scary scenes in there. Definitely check the trigger warnings before you read it though!
The book was so much better than the book. The movie sucked in my opinion 😭
Oh I loved Christine, scared the crap out of me.
I'm so glad you enjoyed Christine
Book of Eli is so amazing
Agree on that June thing.
I also rewatched Another Earth, Triangle, Christine and Firestarter ('84) last month... I also watched Firestarter ('22) and No One Gets Out Alive.... UNFORTUNATELY I am still waiting to get to watch Men and I'm very excited to see it!! AND Stranger Things 4 part 1 was great, much creepier this season which is always a good thing for me!!! I'm never really in a comedy, romance or action movie genre mood...when I'm looking for a movie, supernatural horror is what I check first, then "all horror", thriller third, then space/apocalypse movies or Alien, UFO, abduction story, true crime, ancient history documentaries
I actually know of Shadows Under The Sun. One of of the Golden Girls DVDs they have ads for that film as well as one starring Shiri Appleby
Great video and also are you going to do a whole Watcher review? I would definitely watch it.
my favorite movies i watched this month: angel's egg, paprika (which i'm honestly curious to see what you would think of this. its a very trippy, visually stunning and at times disturbing anime movie, even though its definitely not a horror.. btw in case you want to check it out there is one sa scene) and of course everything everywhere all at once, ty so much for putting that on my radar
I love Paprika! One of my favorite theater experiences and I’ve rewatched it many times since, it is a comfort movie to me even being as weird as it is.
Your missing out on Stranger Things, especially this season. Has major horror Nightmare on Elm St elements.
Hey! I thought it would be really interesting for you to dive into the horror side of CZcams! Not the fake ghost videos or 3am challenges lmao but like the tons of really complex ARG's or short films and stuff, idk I thought maybe you'd find it really interesting and it could bring a lot of different kinds of people to your channel :))
Christine is a John Carpenter masterpiece!
I agree No one gets out alive I just put on by chance and it was an enjoyable watch although few months down the line I had completely forgotten about it, so for me it doesn’t stick 😊
I love Christine movie 🎥
My husband is one of the siblings from our father. I bought him a 23 and me for Christmas and that was the result.
I think you're thinking of Delivery Man starring Vince Vaughn which is a remake of Starbuck or maybe it is False Positive with Pierce Brosnan.
I know there are quite a few shows/movies out there that follow the similar sort of premise of one guy being the father of multiple children. From what I've found so far it is either an average Joe who donated his sperm to a bank (Delivery Man/Starbuck) or a doctor participating in malpractice (Almost Family).
Our Father still gave me the creeps though. 😬
Christine is a monster gem from the 80s!
I love ❤️ 70s and 80s and 90s. And 2000s horror movies and Christmas movies and romantic movies and drama and more
My May top one would be The Flight Attendant season 2
While everyone were hyped about stranger things (that i don't watch either 😳) i was just delighted by the fact it got season 2 and i never heard about it. Just love the way it plays with your brain constantly till the end
Thanks!..
Christine is literally one of my favorite movies of all time, I have probably watched it 80 ties haha. I have also shown it to multiple friends who had never seen it and they all loved it. If they ever did a remake, I just hope that they keep the car a 1958 Plymouth Fury.
Chirstine 1983 is one of my all-time favorite horror movies and it was also the very first horror and R rated movie that I saw in a movie theater from Scott.
Have you ever seen Stuck In Love? It’s a cute indie film about a family of writers.
your shirt 💕
War of the worlds is so good, one of my favourite movies ever and my favourite Tom cruise movie. You should start stranger things, it’s really good especially season 4 that has lots of horror
Stranger Things has so many Easter eggs, you should watch it.
If you liked Another Earth, you should watch Sound of My Voice (also from Brit Marling).
No One Gets Out Alive was awesome! I saw it had extremely mixed reviews, but I loved it. Very cool that it is an adaptation from the same writer as The Ritual.
Thanks for sharing about needing a break from horror/not feeling 100%. That's totally okay. I grew up with a "gotta keep being productive" attitude and it burned me out several times. Give yourself unrestricted permission to rest, watch reality TV, non-horror, etc, as it can be quite restorative. Thanks for all the great content!
Depending on how new a movie is, I'll lightly skim through the Wikipedia Plot section for trigger warnings, just a tip. I skim for those key trigger words without ruining it at the same time if that makes sense.
Thanks for the all the warnings and especially for the no judging thing, I can watch some very explicit scenes but animal harming is a big no and especially if I can’t skip them!
what movie was she referring to when she was talking about our father i’m just so curious now
False Positive
@@KATIElephants thank you !!!
Christine is a classic
Have you watched the tv show Servant? I couldn’t find any reviews on your channel but it’s definitely up your alley. 🖤
I’ve rewatched all the Jurassic Park movies, The Wilds, Working Moms, X, The Sadness, The Terminators 1-3, The Lobster, From, Needle in a Time Stack, The Housemaid, 12 Hour Shift, Mulholland Drive, Brand New Cherry Flavor, The Loft, This World Alone, IT Chapter 2, Reminiscence, Sophie’s Choice, Inside the Rain, and a few more. Most of these ended up on my ‘hated’ list 😞
A lot of interesting movies.
oh I hoped to see Stranger Things season 4 in here. Sarah, if you haven't seen it yet... pleaaaase watch it. I think you won't regret it
