I get the parent's reaction. You spend your whole life trying to teach your kids your values, giving them a gearset as a toddler, helping them choose their first tophat, taking them to cosplay events every Sunday. To find out that they would rather not be steampunk is devastating, and makes you wonder what it was all for. I hope if nothing else she at least gravitates towards something somewhat acceptable like neo-gothic or just old Victorian. If she went full cyberpunk I can't imagine how her parents would feel.
Any respectable parent would allow their child to make their own unexpectedly antithetical life choices free from any criticism, judgement, and shoulds/shouldnots. No-one likes a gyrocopter parent.
It’s too late, I fear this young lady has already built her first cyberdeck. If only her parents had taught her about Lady Ada Lovelace, and the glory of steam powered computing.
@@LikeAFoxStudios the one thing I have wanted to ask about is in regards to the "Peeing in the Lake" video: did you get the idea from the story they read on JARcast? PS: I get there are a thousand ways you could get the idea...
For me i think its just the other way around, i told my parents that im an atheist, and they were fine with it, i they will react worse if they found out i was gay
I discovered your channel recently and I can't believe you don't have at least a million subs. Your videos are really funny and well made, it is a shame they don't get more views than they do.
I don't care if someone wants to be anti-steampunk in the privacy of their own home, but do they have to shove it into everyones faces? It's rough being a kind hearted tinkerer in this world...
As a neurodivergent person I can empathize with steampunks. As long as they keep it at comic con and away from victorian costume carnivals in Venice then I won't judge them.
My only criticism of the steampunks is that sometimes they bust out the cogs and pocket watches when it just isn’t appropriate? Does steampunk belong at Ren faire? I’d say not but maybe I’m just a hater.
@@LikeAFoxStudios I definitely agree but i feel like the vendors sell too much props from movies, games, and tv that its basically become just another con and fighting that is futile because money always wins and people care more about media representation of a time period than they do about authenticity. xP it cheapens the whole thing but what can ya do about it. gatekeeping and bullying ppl certainly isn't an option xP
Yeah honestly that's a great way to think about it. the Ren Faire has never been about historical accuracy or anything, its basically a big celebration of like 5-10 overlapping fandoms. You'll see a steampunk guy, and a full knight in armor, and a guy in a dark souls cosplay all just hanging out, selling homemade katanas and harry potter wands and stuff. Idk its great.
@@LikeAFoxStudios yeah. as cool as an authenticity focused ren faire would be, its infinitely more important to be kind and inclusive. Nothing is more 'cringe' than belittling people for their "cringey" ways of enjoying life. ...Unless they're steampunk. Just kidding lol

I don't understand the term bi. Isn't that just "binary" like 0 and 1. But that's like straight or gay and it's not either of those, so to stand out shouldn't it just be called a 2? To be honest I'm kind of a 2, but if I lost some weight I bet I could be a solid 7.
I mean come on surely they had to see it coming. I know they all say when it's other people you can tell but when it's your kid you're blind to it. But it was frankly very obvious from the way she dressed she was not steampunk. They missed all the signs.
My parents were supportive when i told them i was bisexual, and then later even bigender, but were genuinely heartbroken when i told them i didn't like The Big Bang Theory
She’s not steampunk, just a little diesel-curious
This is probably the best comment here!
Out. Of. This. House.
👌
Should have never let her play FF7. The allure of that vile Hardy-Daytona.

Never go full cyberpunk
At least they stopped her for transitioning while her brain was still developing now she can make her own decisions on what chips to insert
The cut to the parents may be one of the single funniest cuts I have ever seen in my life
That timing was *chef's kiss*
mom, dad, i dont wanna compete in Fighting Game tournaments, i only wanna play casually
"no daughter of mine is gonna be a scrub!!"
Is this based on that Clickhole article titled "There Will Never Be an S in LGBTQIA+ That Stands for Steampunks"?
lol no but that's very funny. To be fair I'd hazard to guess the steampunk community is like 80-90% bi as is.
@@LikeAFoxStudiosLMAO I have had absolutely zero interaction with the steampunk community but I can 100% believe that is the case

The effort that went into this 22 second clip is insane
I know right? To conceive a child and raise it for 20 years while forcing Steam-punk ideals on the child just for a laugh is pretty dedicated!!

"I'm not a fan of Steampunk but I do admit it is the healthiest way to prepare punk."
"I'm not into Steampunk."

The mood immediately changed when she wasn’t a steampunk
I could see the twist coming but that cut to the parents still got me lmao

Oh my cog!
Plot twist
She's Dieselpunk
I"m not steampunk too and I,m proud to say it loud
The parents are right. Steampunk is cool, actually, and only a coward and a fool would be afraid to admit it.
Anything can be cool if you use a clockwork time machine to go back to when it was still considered cool.
Which is obviously cheating.
Hey, I see you bought Steampunk outfits just for this sketch. Listen, if you want to make more Steampunk content, I, for one, wholly support you. 💙
Sara and Mike were so into the steampunk outfits that I'm almost positive that these characters are gonna return.

At least one more, from me
God dammit you're so fucking funny.
She probably didn't even like Poor Things
