I was the white player in the game. Why I moved from my Africa position had two reasons:
1. Purple made it clear he won't let me have it without a fight
2. Pink frustrated me because he boxed himself in a corner and was ready to break me but not you ( even though you still didn't have a good grip on NA).
This coupled with frustrating games in that week demoting me from expert resulted me suiciding into purple. The only thing I would do differently would be the kill on purple but I hoped to get a good set but forgot that I didn't have the cards to immediately to set ( at this point my plan was to be second because I knew you would win).
But thank you for your videos I am a new viewer thanks to the famous winter video and learned alot from you.

That makes a lot of sense and is good to know.
Suggestion: When doing stretches/curls/whatever, instead of having a camera view that you toggle on top of everything, you could have a separate scene to switch to instead, where that camera is the focus, but you can put the game capture in a smaller box to the side so we can still see what's going on if one of your opponents happens to have an interesting turn.
Not specific to this video, just the first video where I thought about it and had my keyboard out to leave a comment. haha

Loving this channel, finding myself perpetually going further back in time due to recently finding you due to the youtube algorithm and I probably wouldn't be enjoying Risk content if it wasn't for your very warm personality. And as someone who has found love for myself (due to a wonderful woman teaching me that I deserve it) I can really empathize with that change in attitude, whatever those negative feelings were and whatever was the catalyst for change, and this really gives me motivation to try to work more on love for my body as well.
As I watched this game I actually really liked blacks threat. He was stuck between 3 large stacks with a pretty big chance that someone, eventually, was going to suicide his largest stack. It was almost like his way of saying "Hey, you're the smartest one between these 3, let me out of this hellhole and if not, well I'm already going to lose if that's the case, so I might as well take you with me"
His mistake, of course, was getting in that situation in the first place. He had the opportunity to move towards Europe and start trying to capitalize there, when it was clear you were all in on NA, Magenta was all in on SA, and Red had so much material in Africa. Seemed like it would probably be better to push towards Europe and encourage white to fight red for Africa, or purple for the doomed continent, but hey, once you've made the mistake, showing the board that you're potentially unhinged is the best way to get out of that spot.
That's a beautiful lesson. And of course we all deserve love! If there's any message I can shout as loudly as possible it's that.

Good read on Black to allow him to peacefully abandon the western hemisphere and avoid a quarreling situation, he was a bit sandwiched between you and Magenta and you did him a huge favor! You probably should have taken out Red @25:10 so you would have had another match next round while decongesting Europe for Black's easier takeover of Europe to keep Magenta more in check. Once tensions brewed between Black and Magenta, you then would have been in great position to take out White in Australia after couple rounds while other forces were occupied.
Pink was actually in the better position to win towards the end, especially after Black suicided into Pink. Pink could have gained Black's cards, turned in another match, and then blasted into your Alaska, while marshalling his other large force in Middle East to torch you in Australia and Asia. Pink's largest stack in Brazil then should have activated against you in Central America as the last nail in your coffin. BUUUTTTTTTT....Pink decided to act as a Noobie and squandered his power. Maybe he was just in a hurry to "love himself with action" ;)
pink could have totally had that if they hit your mexico stack after black broke you

Nice win for the Peterman! Fun to hear how your Sinterklaas experience. We always used regular shoes instead of the wooden ones and tried to find the biggest f*cking one in the house. Although pepernoten out of stinking shoes do not taste so well ( the shoe gets filled with that and a present) what is great about the tradition I think is the singing of sinterklaasliedjes (songs) so he might visit that night. And the banging on the window or door, and when you open it there is a big bag full of presents (and the neighbour running away that actually put down the bag) as far as I know the horse of Sinterklaas does not fly but just walks over the rooftops. They did not think about that one so well as Santa ;) and you are right, zwarte piet is black because he sweeps the chimney. But because of the whole blackface controversy the tradition is almost dead now. To me "zwarte pieten" were always magical figures that were funny, could do tricks and gave presents. They had a different skin colour but were very likable so as a kid you might get more accepting towards people that look different than you. Not saying that the depiction can't be interpreted as racist. In the actual story of Sinterklaas they were never his slaves though but paid helpers.

Pete, Iv ventured into the ranked game mode, and I’m finding it incredibly frustrating that I’m getting into a commanding position, holding say North America and Africa, I have 40 more troops than the nearest and then the third player has maybe 60 odd total and after an hour or so off the game they just smash into me. It literally feels like the game is often not won by the best player but decided by the guy who clearly can’t win and just decides to screw them over. My question is, when this happens how do I learn to sit back and say right ok no problem. Rather than my current response off just turning my computer off in utter disgust ?

Honestly, just play more. As something happens to you more often you learn to deal with it more. I still have a very similar reaction to this but it gets less bad as it happens to you more 🤣 as far as gameplay advice to avoid this, you're probably dead, but pete plays conservatively to avoid this happening as much, so maybe try that.
@@dylancondie805 thanks for advice, not sure I could off played more conservatively! I waited till I was the last one to take the bonus and my game turned for the better when green tried to kill blue but didn’t realise he had a 1 in Japan, I then managed to kill blue and take africa, I then just built up my defense until the geezer took me out. I do realise it’s a part of the game you just have to learnt to live with but it’s only my 5th ranked game and I was defo on for the win and it just left a bad taste in my mouth. I’ll defo keep on playing.
The lesson is why.
There's probably a reason. People rarely do something for no reason so if you can figure out why you get slammed into maybe it will happen less
Just started playing some ranked last night, and while I understand I was probably making alot of mistakes, I feel that my opponents have played very questionably compared to how your opponent's do. Feels like they aren't picking up what I'm communicating at all and never wanna do any of the dirty work etc. When your opponents seem to pick up what your doing and it benefits both when I'm just getting fucked over lol. Definitely alot of my own fault but wondering if the fact that I've only played 3 ranked games means my ELO is low and the players I'm against are bad and are more likely to do stupid things that get us both killed.
you’ll face a variety of players on risk. someone will end up being very smart but there is usually one bad apple every game lol

I like to challenge myself to predict what they will do.
That's actually true. Same applies for me too. Players are always dumb and sometimes you have to know when to fold and let them draw blood against each other. The secret is to find out who's stupid and who's not

Damn Pete thats the grand master thinking I need to learn, the idea that magenta had to push through Europe in to Asia so that he could keep farming cards without ruining yours or whites bonuses. I think I would have ended up in war with white or you if I was playing Magenta.

Red has a stack in other exit trapping pink, and you closing the door forces a potential war that would only benefit you or red, probs more likely you. I think black understood what you’re actions were sort of hoping for/instigating
