Watching someone participate in something they are passionate about, even if you are not into that particular thing is still so lovely and inspiring.
Well put. 100%
Why?
@@alwaysOPEN4business my best guess is "second hand joy". Totally just made that up, but it makes sense. I love carpentry. I could spend all afternoon at a lumberyard shopping for the perfect slab, listening to the history of where the tree was from, who cut it, ect. I'd imagine that's fairly boring to most folks, but I love it. Watching this, you can see the passion he has for racing reflected through his responses and commentary, and it looks and sounds similar to my response to a beautiful piece of 150 year old black walnut. Ya know?
Right? I couldn't give two hoots about F1 management but I still watched all of this video!
@@alwaysOPEN4business If people can have Schadenfreude then they can have Mitfreude[joy over happiness of others] as well.
I'm loving these occassional F1 videos, I'd love to see a 2 player career mode series with both Mike and Luke.
Mike, I'd like to let you know that I'm now massively into F1 because of you and Luke and so these videos make my day. More Mike's Driver Academy please!
and of course the student will be Andy🤣
@@fadhelfarras1175 He still needs to do his own Fear Academy. 😂
They also got me into F1. So i am happy Mike did this.
@@khamjaninja. same happened to me
I think Ellen hasn't actually driven a car before, and Jane mentioned before her license is long expired and she never renewed it, so yeah. No memory on if Andy ever mentioned his status.
31:58 The shot of KMag stacking it into the wall, completely hidden, and then the lil' wheel cover just hopped into frame killed me. peak comedic timing.
I wish all sports team managers used numpty in their vocabulary. It'd make watching sports so much better
What does numpty even mean lol
@@bustinarant Someone who has done something stupid. It's not the same as calling them an idiot, which implies they're generally lacking in intelligence, it's more of a "you did something dumb and screwed up".
This was really fun to watch despite the fact that I'm not into F1! Loved the added bonus of Mike handing out warfare wisdoms like "Give it a go, grit your teeth, hold your breath, clench your butt cheeks." or "No strategy survives contact with the enemy." 😆👍🏼
I was not expecting to be so taken in by watching Mike playing a managing sim. Dangit, few more videos like this one and I'll start watching F1 for fun... What have you done to me, Mike?! :D
Hey did you know there’s a command for “Don’t fight teammate” that functions as a way to swap your drivers? It can sometimes backfire and allow competing cars through as well but it’s there.
Also there’s a very helpful preview of the projected water level on track under the strategy view if you press RT once and RB twice. This really helps in planning which tires you want to be on and when.
Would love to see Mike do an entire season of this, hell if there is a way I'd love to see him and Andy doing it in the same championship.
@@khamjaninja. Or Mike driving and Andy being his manager (if Frontier and EA are reading this and like money, this is the crossover/multiplayer mode we need).
When Mike's drivers collided, I assume Andy began involuntarily cackling wherever he was. Edit: each time it happens
What else would you expect from the voice of the God Of Driving.
If Ferrari strategy team sees this video, they might offer you job. Pitting Leclerc too late for inters, and then too early for mediums is similar to what Ferrari strategy team has been doing this entire season 😉
there's new car content! I've never cared about cars but you and Luke's enthusiasm have converted me to the point where the F1 and GT7 vids are some of my all time favourites on the channel, so thank you very much.
mike is so into it, and its great it really just feels like hes explaining it to you one on one
Unless Mike forgets two tires for Sainz, I'd say the answer to the title is a resounding yes.
This was incredibly exciting and I don't really know why.
It's because Mike has a real passion for it and that kind of enthusiasm is infectious.
I'd watch a 'Mike & The Mechanics' season of F1 Manager - Hope there's another video at least.
a missed opportunity!
There may be a few job openings at Ferrari, come 2023.
Mike firmly putting himself in the shop window.
I have to compliment and commend Mike for this. I rarely comment on this channel. But I just want to say that I really enjoy watching and rewatching mikes racing game videos.
I love that Mike's chaotic approach to video games transfers to even a management game where his drivers will actually collide with each other
31:50 that was the most comedic crash ever. Behind the wall crash, and then that bit of car flying over the top while the commentator just casually brush that news aside
There's something strangely compelling about Mike's range: either strategy and concentration while doing driving games, or "let's throw a grenade and hope for the best."
I would love to see more videos of mike doing this, it’d be fun to watch him learn from his past mistakes and the commentary is the best
As someone who doesn't normally enjoy F1 this was really fun. Would certainly watch more of these!
Wow! That was the most gentle and understated I’ve ever seen Mike. Ferrari strategies has been regularly dunked on all year.
Would love to see you do this after a qualifying, Mike! Then we can see how close the results were after the race the next to day
More of this PLEASE I’m not even that into F1 but this was honestly a ton of fun to watch
I thought the game was getting way too real when @ 28:06 the tires bugged out and showed as full wets.
I actually really enjoyed this Mike! I would love more play alongs with Racing and even other sport events.
It really is a testament to Mike's charisma and humour that I didn't understand any of the words he was saying half the time but watched the whole video regardless!
I think I finally understand how it feels to be a sports fan, because that penalty was outrageous!! Although hell of a job from Leclerc clawing so many positions back afterwards.
I really enjoyed this stream. I have little working knowledge in F1 and only mild interest but this whole thing was compelling and fun to watch and you managed to make a suspenseful ending while watching an NPC you had no real control over by then
But the big question is can you get out of the car
"What's the yell at Massi button!?" Oh I'm sure Leclerec would love that addition...
This was actually pretty fun to see. I'm not really into racing, but it was entertaining to hear Mike explain this. This would be a fun series to do every race
Only OxBox could get me to watch an hour of F-1! Love to see them playing the games they love though.
I know nothing about F1, but this was delightful. I would love to see Mike do more of these videos.
This is so weirdly nerve wracking and entertaining. I'd love to watch a race with Mike and just listen to him yell about everyone's terrible choices.
Love watching Mike do Let's Plays. Feels like he does the least of them solo of the team, which is a shame
I'd love to see a video where Luke drive the car without any rewind and Mike acts like a Manager, giving instructions. Maybe even with a second player for better team colab
8:13 A tough break for Sainz the Spuniard...
Some of my favourite videos on this channel is when Mike plays a racing game.
1. This was super entertaining. Mike's passion for this sport makes this a real joy to watch. and 2. I'm surprised that hated OX rival Pierre Gasly did not show up once to cause Mike a hard time.
This video is the most Mike that Mike has ever Miked. Carry on, Mister Channell.
I do really like these videos, something you are passionate about instead of another '7 things'.
now i'm no f1 expert but surely at some point Mike could of picked up a blue shell to take out the leader
I actually looked into F1 mostly because of this video, honestly. I hear Mike talk about it often enough that I had to find out more. You know what? Yeah. It’s fascinating. I will be watching more.
I still have minimal idea of what Mike is talking about but it’s still great to see
Mike being his own biggest fan laughing at his F1 "in" jokes gave me life tbh 🤣
I would love to see you live stream this with an actual race. This was a blast for a race fan. I grew up with NASCAR, and I’ve just recently gotten into F1.
Have a wonderful day all.
Echoing everyone else here who has no interest in motorsport outside of Mike and Luke but loved this video and all the other racing videos on the channel. I think it has to do with the fact that we recognize y'all and want to root for you, plus we can hear what you're thinking as you're playing, both things that for a non-fan are missing from live racing.
Mike snuck into the studio by himself again! Hi, Mike!)
Not enough explosions to be considered a 'Full-Mike' video, but it was fun to watch regardless.
Something strangely calming to be working to the soothing sounds of Mike yelling at this game.
I've been wondering if you'd play this, given strategy and simulation games aren't usually in this channel's wheelhouse. I have been absolutely loving this, especially since the 1.8 patch.
Oh no, five minutes of trying to get the cars to swap places, using every method in the book except clicking the 'let your teammate pass' button...
Didn't know what was more likely to crash, the cars or mike's brain. I really loved this video. Keep doing ambitious off the wall things. What I love about oxbox is the diversity of content!
I didn't think I'd actually watch all of this, but heck it was a whole lotta fun! More of the same for future races please!
I know Mike said this didn't get enough views to do again, but it might make a good stream series? Plenty of time for chat in between stuff to do, maybe have the hive mind decide strategy for one of the cars
Personally not a massive fan of F1 in real life but I have started to enjoy watching videos with F1 content on this channel, whether it's F1 manager or F1 22 with Luke and Mike. I just find it so enjoyable, can't wait for the next F1 upload
Just imagine Andy as he was being told this idea.
As someone who has slightly less than zero interest in racing, race cars, or motor vehicles in general, I really do love Mike's car streams. Make more self-indulgent videos, Mike, your enthusiasm is fun to watch.
Hearing you get frustrated and call the guy a numpty had me rolling 😂😂😂
Love seeing unique video ideas like this! Props to Mike and whoever edited the video, I was entertained the whole way through.
Never been into racing, but I genuinely enjoyed this video. It had me on edge almost the whole video.
This was great Mike! Please bring us more of this!
This was way more fun than I thought it would be. Make this a series Mike!
That was a nail biter. Thanks for doing this Mike, it was such fun. Poor Magnussen though lol.
I was clutching my face along with this, as the various trials of Mikes drivers ensued - defo entertaining even though its years since I;ve watched actual F1. Doing it at the same time was a really cool idea though, and I second what other pps have said - more pls! 🙂
Yep, this was very much a Ferrari kind of race. Imagine what Sainz could have done if he hadn't spun twice.
The video may be self-indulgent as Mike says, but I love it none the less!
You got this Mike, prove that you have the know how and the luck to become Ferrari strategist in next years championship (maybe) because this season, they have proved that they could not even win races when gifted with an open goal to do so, on several occasions. Good way of doing it in real time versus you playing as well, neat trick I love it very much Mike.
Yes he can.
Now to watch the video.
This was a neat idea for a video, I like it when you guys do something a bit inventive with your gameplay videos
This is his application form to work at Ferrari, nailed it.
Surprised that I watched all of that and enjoyed it, even though not a massive F1 fan. Well done Mike
This is the most F1 I've watched since Jenson Button retired.
I should get back in to it, but I fear it wouldnt be this entertaining
Would love to see a series, maybe without the pressure or timing linking it to the real race, Mike's enthusiasm is infectious. Keep it up, hopefully see something soon
Not a fan of F1 at all but I love watching these videos. Seeing someone indulge and word vomit about their passions is amazing.
can I just say - the improvements in graphics over the past like 5-10 years are staggering! 😲 And yes - I am aware that even just one year is often a LEAP of time in terms of progress of tech in IT, but still ... DAMN! 😍
... having said all that - 9:27 how did that techie not get run over? 😀 The magic of being a texture, lol
ERS? Extra point for fastest lap? The last time I was into F1 was about 1998 with my dad, so this is futuristic stuff. More self-indulgent videos, please! :)
!Vamos Checo! Incredible drive in Singapore!
i did not think i would like this as much as i did, keep up the good work! Next year you'll be #1!
Nice classic F1 shirt Mike!
Oh, this was brilliant. I'd love to see more. I'd also love to see a competition where Luke or Andy also manage different teams - both to see if you can out perform each other and the real life teams. Bonus if Andy manages Gasly's team.
very interesting idea; we've raced in comparison or to recreate / simulate, and now with management
You should do more of these. It's so entertaining.
I don't know a thing about F1, but I had strong feelings about switching tyres a lot in this video so I feel like I got a lot out of it. 😅
Gotta say I enjoyed the video! was cheering and gasping at the moments of the race, the penalty felt so wrong though
I am living for the drama on the track!
Can we please have a mini series of this I absolutely loved it and I'm not the biggest F1 fan
“No points for it, but better than p15” yep. That’s the Ferrari strategy
Love Sainz commiting vehicular manslaughter at 9:25. That'll slow Red Bull down.
Never really had any interest in racing, but I'd totally watch more of this.
I have been hoping that Mike would play this one day.
Licensing issues aside, it would have been way fun to see the actual race and Mike's race side-by-side
yayy mike racing streams! here for it :)
this was incredibly fun to watch and compare to the real race, i'd love to see you do a few predictive races as well!
I want a full series of this!
Mike getting an early Chrimbo present, by playing a game he loves. Well done Mike
At this rate Mike is just gonna make a "F1 terms for newbies" video so that the subscribers know what the hell he's talking about.
Mike's Motorsports School!
I’d watch so many of these. The strategy is sooooo interesting
Cheer up, Mike! You performed pretty well, and you're not even an actual team manager. I'd call it a job well done!
Mike bestowing the lowest of honors: You numpty!
