I HATE this bank!!! They're shiesty to say the least! I've been summons to court in my small town for Feb. 6th next month over a mere $1,500 on my Capital One credit card for two months of not paying the min. payment on it then they immediately closed the account and took me to court! Local sheriff's office even put the court papers on my front door AFTER I received the same court papers by mail from them a month before! They try and make you feel like a CRIMINAL!!!!! But THEY are the CRIMINALS not the customer!!!!! They need to be investigated into and CLOSED THE FREAK DOWN once and for all!!!!!!!!! Enough is enough!!!!!! They shouldn't even be allowed to FREEZE anyone's checking or savings accounts because we need them in order to survive and live on a day-to-day basis! They're just evil criminals who can kiss my butt! I'll get money orders if I have to and eventually go to another bank or credit union in the future if they try and freeze my bank account(s)! Screw them! There's a REASON why people stop paying on their credit cards and most of the time it's not because of laziness. We're human NOT robots. We fall on bad times sometimes in our lives. Just happens. It's called LIFE! They don't even TRY to work with you because they don't want to. I don't even use them as a BANK.I have no bank accounts with them THANK GOD!!!! I'm not THAT stupid! I just got three credit cards with them (Amazon (which I didn't even know was with Chase bank unfortunately), Capital One and Walmart card). The Walmart card wasn't with them when I got it back in the day but they took it over and merged unfortunately. Praying I keep up my payments on the Walmart card but I'm almost in trouble with my Amazone card because I can't make the min. payments on that one right now too. Just feel sick! I'm about to get kicked out of my home (foreclosure) because I'm trying to keep up the mortgage payments alone which is nothing if I could just get me a job in this hole of a town I live in. It's awful how bad life has become for the hard working who are struggling just to make ends meet every day. Truly thinking about using money orders all the time from now on and never getting with any bank ever again and ask for a PAPER check be mailed to me instead of automatic deposit pay checks to a bank account. So afraid they'll be taken before I can ever SEE it in my bank account the day I get paid. So beyond sad and scary how our world and life has come to this. PLEASE SHUT THIS GREEDY SHIESTY BANK DOWN!!! 😡🙏

I have had the extreme displeasure of working for both of these shitty banks/firms. As a compassionate person, my conscience made me QUIT both. I worked for them for years and NEVER OPENED ACCOUNTS WITH THEM AS AN EMPLOYEE. This is an everyday occurrence for those of us who are back office. I saw so many innocent accounts frozen over the years that it took a toll on me to see people not able to get payroll deposited, pay their employees as small businesses, SSI payments frozen, bounced checks, etc. And often people were not reimbursed for the mishaps. I saw the same people’s accounts being frozen numerous times. Accounts frozen over the weekends or long holiday weekends. It was heartbreaking.
There are many reasons why freezing happens, but most often, it is a lack of organization on the firms part. People also need to familiarize themselves with the US Patriot Act. Banks you transaction monitoring software that are used to possibly detect fraud or money laundering, etc. Compliance or corporate security has the right to recommend freezing or closure but are not allowed to divulge why. Something called a SAR is then sent to the feds. But the biggest reason is the organizational chaos that consumes both of these banks! The different departments know nothing about what the other is doing. The staff at the branches get the brunt of the anger and frustration, but are really powerless to assist. Your accounts can be frozen for many reasons.
That means no SSI, direct deposit, payroll for small businesses, etc. will be allowed to go in or out. I would suggest the following: 1. Taking your assets out these banks asap. 2. If you have a dedicated Financial Advisor, they could contribute to your accounts getting frozen by not being responsive to the info requested (but will tell you its back office fault). The lower the assets under management with a big bank, they care the less about your business.
This customers assets are chump change to them 3. NEVER HAVE ALL YOUR MONEY IN ONE BANK!!!!!!!! I see this all the time. You need to have money in at least 3 institutions. This way if this occurs your funds are not tied to this one bank. We also see this happening when banks collapse as of late! If this happens to you and they then unfreeze, take your money immediately as it will most likely happen again. These banks have been fined by US regulators for billions of dollars but the problems are still pervasive. I do not trust what our government does with the banks anymore as they seem powerless to really invoke change. Hope this helps.

This is one of the things that we were repeatedly warned against that the Republican party, Donald Trump in particular was so fond.
He came into office and immediately wrote sweeping executive orders rolling back Financial regulations put in place under the Obama administration as a result of the financial collapse of 2008.
Banking institutions prove to us 15 years ago that they cannot be trusted to manage our money without oversight.
The GOP love to talk about limiting the powers of government but it's necessary when systems like banking control our financial livelihoods with impunity. This is why I support most Democrat campaigns.
The GOP lobby on the interest of everything thats keeping us from a better quality of life that we're killing ourselves to try to have-
big American corporations don't pay enough taxes and in the same breath low ball wages and leave the burden on the working class to fund the infrastructure of the country
Big Pharma is pimping us while killing is and inflating drug prices as they go
Gun Industry, the lifting of the ban on assault weapons in 2004 is a direct cause of increasing gun violence
Economic crisis of 2008 saw the entire country and as a result global markets suffer- people lost so much and after the Obama administration repaired the us economy in record breaking fashion he was honest about how we had gotten to such a point and made common sense regulations to ensure our money, markets and livelihoods stayed stable and banking tactics were more transparent and honest.
But for some unfathomable reason people vote for the party that gives more power to the entities that proved they don't have out best interest at heart.
      Stop voting for them.

If this couple has foreign accounts and they never reported to the Treasury department, this could happen also. I knew people that risked not reporting foreign accounts and it did not end well. Court is the way to go with this but if they lose, it will cost them a bunch more. They should have contacted the fraud branch to the the Treasury Department and wrote their congressman before hiring an attorney. I had a problem with 5k at the Navy Federal Credit Union some years ago. I wrote the CEO and the problem was solved within a few days and they gave me 300 bucks for my trouble. Fine being careful keeps us all safe, but there should be a federal oversight policy that when a bank freezes your account, you are immediately contacted and scheduled for sit-down meeting, with not only the bank rep who must explain what happened, but and independent ombudsman and your attorney. From that meeting a full explanation for what occurred, a timeline of resolution or a referral where your case is passed on to a state or federal agency for resolution should the bank's hands be tied over federal banking rules and regulations.

@@vincentemendez938 - we called them SARs (Suspicious Activity Reports) and these can lead to accounts being frozen. Banks don't randomly freeze accounts. There's more to this story. Structuring can result in an account being forcibly closed, so there might be something more serious going on. This couple could be involved in something more serious, such as being mules for a money laundering or drug operation.

If it was money laundering it'd be a hell of a lot more than $48,000.

And by the way, Banks do whatever the hell they want to do.

Neither are the small ones. Small banks are now being scrutinized by depositors. Look at their earnings they will fail sooner or later

Don’t worry. Your money is federally insured. Sue and threaten damages.

I can't believe how honest the team is, *Cryptotraceback* an angel in human form. If you get scammed, if you can't let go, because I'm not a quitter, it's really good to get help, started watching your page on the internet when I was in downtown Seattle, and it happens to be accurate and brilliant. You fought evil very bravely. Thank you for saving and improving lives every day, being a crime fighter can be tough but you have stepped up with courage and strength.

    Won't the FDIC help????
I had a bank called Bread Savings freeze my account for no reason and try to keep my money. I filed a complaint with the FDIC and got it back.
