    Very helpful. I'm currently baking using the cmd line. I did not choose render after bake. Once baking is finished, what would be my next step in rendering. Is there a way to preview my current bake?

    • @FLIPFluids
      @FLIPFluids  Před rokem

      The only preview is the viewport where you can see the unrendered result. There is a preview mesh or a final mesh.
      You can click the generate batch file button and then click the play button to run it.

    It should be clarified that the emission of fluid from the Sphere can be stopped at any time and the animation continues until the end but without generating more particles. How to close the tap for example👌👏🙋🏻‍♂️

    Downloaded the demo to try this out, looks really cool! 2 things I was wondering and maybe you can help me:)
    1: Is it possible to mix/blend the simulated animation (for example a boat driving in an ocean) with another mesh that's lower res but maybe has an ocean shader or even the ocean modifier connected for making larger scale scenes?
    2: Can you use the generated particles for something other than water? i.e attach other objects/meshes to the particles maybe via geometry nodes or something? I've seen some very cool and abstract stuff where people use the particles generated from a simulation (water, grain etc.) and attach like a set of flowers and have them act out the water animation. Looks really cool and weird. :D

    • @FLIPFluids
      @FLIPFluids  Před rokem +3

      You can use a modifier on top of the simulation. Or you could use a very big domain with a moving meshing object inside.
      And yes - any object can be used to be displayed as particle. That’s a good idea for a quick tips video!

      @rlguy89 Před rokem

      @@jonaseriksson2367 We'll need to see how the simulation nodes project develops in the future - it's still too early to know for certain what features of simulation nodes will be available and how they will perform for liquid simulations.

    • @FLIPFluids
      @FLIPFluids  Před rokem

      I think you will need to create your own shaders for octane. But that should be easy to do.

    I need a method to simulate rising oil bubbles in water. Is it possible to simulate two different fluids, such as oil and water, together?

    • @FLIPFluids
      @FLIPFluids  Před rokem +1

      Not „really“. You can mix different viscosities or shaders using our attributes system. But the effect you are looking for will not work this way. Maybe you could fake it using whitewater bubbles. They can be rendered bigger and behave more like oil. Just an idea.

    I need help.
    At 17:59 you mention a toggle to hide or un-hide particles in viewport display, but I cannot find this toggle in version 1.8.
    All the whitewater simulation simply doesn't show in viewport or render and i can't find a solution to this in the documentation either since it appears outdated? Any help would be appreciated!
    Both render display mode and viewport display mode in whitewater setting is set to 'final'. Display amount doesn't change anything either.
    EDIT: I think I worked it out. Still not visible in viewport, but my render settings need to be in cycles for it to work. EEVEE simply doesn't catch whitewater as far as I can tell

    Does CMD baking and rendering work with GNU/Linux? If no, make it work now. It is very easy, just the simplest bash scripting.(It can be easier than Windows)

    • @rlguy89
      @rlguy89 Před rokem

      Yes, this feature is normally compatible with GNU/Linux and uses simple Bash scripting. Unfortunately there is a current bug in FLIP Fluids 1.7.0 where this feature will not launch correctly on GNU/Linux. This bug has been fixed for FLIP Fluids 1.7.1 which will be released during next week.

    • @FLIPFluids
      @FLIPFluids  Před 9 měsíci

      Melting 🫠 is not easy to make. Viscosity helps to have a more stable mesh but how it looks depends on the base mesh. There is a fluid lifetime that makes fluids disappear after a while, but never tryed this before.
