Johnny Carson was the launch pad for so many stars over the years. He was truly a national treasure. Late night has never been the same since he left us.
He's like a male Shirley Temple when he's singing and dancing! My sides are hurting from laughing so hard. This and the Drew Barrymore interview are just legendary!
I just finished listening to the new Brotherly Love podcast with the Lawrence brothers. Joey talked about his time on Johnny Carson and I just had to watch it. It did not disappoint!
Seeing this is awesome! Joey has such natural talent to entertain and you can tell loves doing it! His voice was great and his stage presence was unmistakable. Carson did a great job of interviewing him!!!!! I was in stitches the whole time!
The Lawrence brothers have a podcast now and he talked about it and how he got his first commercial. He had a crazy story about how that and how it lead to him being cast in 50 commercials in one year. It’s actually how I got to this video lol
Loved this interview! Remember seeing it my senior year in college and writing a postcard to The Johnny Carson Show... "I love your show. It's really great! You keep me up laughing many nights until late... But tonight your guest, little Joey Lawrence, really topped your slate! Keep up the good work! Patience"
Look at his pretty hair! Joey was a good little singer staying on-key and even had vibrato. I don't know if he can still sing or not. So adorable and funny. I like how the cameraman instantly zoomed in on Carson's face when Joey made the vomiting comment. Ha Ha.
I hadn't seen Joey perform this young before but i'd heard him mention it in interviews about how old he was when he started. Joey is/was talented he's going strong.
Excellent. Great songs choices from that era. Joey is 47 years old now in 2023. I did not know that he could sing and tap dance and as well as that. Priceless at just 5 years old. He should have stared in musicals along with his television shows and movies. Him and his two famous brothers have a podcast now called “Brotherly Love” after the show that they started in and it’s really worth watching on CZcams.
None like Johnny Carson or Jay Leno. Our lives have been blessed getting to watch & laugh along with these real comedians. No slanted politics or off colored jokes. Thank you Johnny & Jay. You both brought so much joy & happiness into our lives.
He saw Carson when he was up late vomiting 😂 what a riot! Looked this up after listening to Joey talk about it on his new podcast "Brotherly Love". He said he auditioned by tap dancing on top of Carson's desk😊
We want to hear from our fans! Let us know what you'd like to see and we'll get it posted.

Would love to see the episode with Bob Hope and Robin Williams.
Would love to see anything with Anthony Perkins and Sammy Davis Jr!
I second that...😁 😁
@@jojopuppyfish I second that...😁 😁
It’s incredible to see how sharp minded and eloquent Joey is here at just five years old!
I thought Andy was the adorable brother, but Joey’s cuteness factor is through the roof!
They all were cute but joey definitely was the cutest little thing...
I always thought Matt was the cutest.
@@Foxxil. they are practically clones, I think we can call it a tie.
Talented family for sure. Their brother Matt was fantastic in Mrs. Doubtfire.
They’re all good looking in their unique ways.
He's like a male Shirley Temple when he's singing and dancing! My sides are hurting from laughing so hard. This and the Drew Barrymore interview are just legendary!
Joey had a much better entrance but Drew is still the best.
Wow. 1982. Who wouldn’t want to go back to that time. 1000 times better than 2022.
Better for white men…minorities, women,LGBTQ didn’t have it very good in ‘82!
1980 no 2. Intuit speak
No way! 2022 is much better than 1982!
@@nibsvkh Agreed!
way better
Never realized how talented Joey was. Never saw him as a child performing. Great job!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
watch Gimme a Break, it was his first real big role when he was around 8.
same here!

@@jackson5116 Oh, that's right. When I see him, I think of his role in Blossom.
Uh Why didn’t anyone review Him when he was chosen to voice Oliver, in Oliver and Company
Going down a Lawrence Brothers rabbit hole lol Joey was soooo cute!
“Well when I was up vomiting and all that stuff” he’s so adorable, I love him 😂😂❤
Even though he's only 5, Joey seemed to have a fairly deep and strong voice for a child his age.
Yes!
He was a natural performer ahead of his 5 & 3/4 years! The comment about vomiting was so darn funny omg! 😂
40 years in the past and it brought a smile to my face. What an adorable and talented little boy Joey was at his 5 3/4.
Very bright, and a very wise young 5 3/4 year-old
Joey's still adorable. So are his brothers. Talented family.
Johnny was the best ever. No matter the age of the guest he can make it work. Little Joey was a blast.
No one will ever be like Johnny! These new late night hosts don't even come close to his brilliance!
They don't come close to not coming close.
The new late night hosts have no talent. To watch them is to waste your time.
Graham Norton is quite good
Actually, Mikey my man--someone has become BETTER than Johnny and that someone is JAY LENO!!!!
The current guys are an embarrassment! And not funny, at all. Johnny's expressions were priceless!
This kid is a natural entertainer. As you could see he likes to perform and does it very well. He is already 45 years old to this date.
Pure, unscripted talent, 1982, I missed those days
And true talent. ❤
This was such a great interview and Joey Lawrence was just so cute, talented and funny!
I heard he does Oliver in Oliver & Company
Joey was so talented and adorable when he was little!
Very smart guy!
He is indeed adorable! 😍 He and Drew Barrymore are my favorite Johnny's child guests
Emmanuel Lewis was really adorable as well
@@Loveinthe808 No.

Carson was always good with children. He looked right into their eyes.
I wonder if Joey Lawrence has seen this . He really had the personality 😂

What a great little performer!
…and who could forget him on Gimme A Break ? 😁
I’m sure he loves looking back on that hair style & performance 😂
God, I how miss that classic Johnny Carson bewilderment look (after Joey tells him he's seen the show while vomiting!)
That clip showed up on all of the anniversary specials.
Oh my goodness the cuteness overload 😩🖤
I watched Melissa & Joey recently, can’t believe it’s the same person. So cute!
I might remember him from such shows as Blossom. He had a lot of personality.
How cute. Singing, tap dancing. Wow just beautiful!!
Whoa! He was so adorable! love Joey!
😅😅His hair is half as big as he is😅😅😅! Love ya Joey!
No one tops Johnny Carson ! Late night doesn’t even compare back to these days!

Amazing the talent and personality of this kid
I’m here after watching the 1st episode of “brotherly love” podcast where he discusses this moment.
the best talk show in the world.
Whoa! Oh he's adorable! He's spoken a lot about this show so had to watch it!
Cuteness overload . Joey is till such a sweetheart.

They had to blow it out
The cameraman always did a phenomenal job of instantly going righ where the interest was -- he never go the accolades he deserved, publicly at least!
So adorable ❤️, so brave and loving the hairstyle 😊. He’s turned into such a great actor and I’m a huge fan. ❤️🇩🇰
I'M DYING, CAN'T HANDLE CUTENESS!!!! 🥺
He's still almost exactly the same 😂

Adorable! It's crazy how his career is still going!
Wow !, what a talented little fella. He learned to sing and dance from two of his friends. Too bad Johnny didn't ask abit more about that.
A treasure episode for sure.
He was so cute as a little boy!!!!! I wonder if this was the same kid that danced on Dancing with the Stars, years later......still cute!
This got me looking to

Gimme a Break! Fan of Joey since I first saw that show. This clip is priceless.
Johnny was one of a kind!! Good laugh's 😂👋🏼👍🏼
The kid was adorable but This is Johnny Carson at his best!
more proof you're born with it, some talent is hereditary... joey's pitch and melodies are dead on, you can't teach that to a 5 year old in 78 days.
Joey Lawrence? Woahhh!
Just adorable and so smart.
I didn’t know he was the one who I was watching in “Melissa and Joey” when I was a teenager! That’s awesome!
I got to see this at last. Joey was always great.
Joey’s awesome. Classy and talented family.
Omg what a cutie! So precocious ❤

The best moment of the entire interview is at 7:55
And split second reaction by director and camera person to zoom in to get Johnny's reaction.

This is so cute! He hasn’t changed in personality at all 😂 Love the BL podcast
"Dreama Denver gives me skyrockets! She's pretty!"
Johnny didn't know what "Matchbox" cars were. Surprising, as he was usually on top of things. He read books voraciously.
Vomiting! Priceless!
He was so dang cute!
So adorable he was 😊😊
Once when I was up vomiting and all that stuff. So funny and Carson's reaction was priceless. Joey was such a talented little boy.
