'Blossom' Reunion ft Mayim Bialik, Joey Lawrence, Jenna von Oÿ & More! (2017) | PEOPLE
/ people - Zábava
Kids these days WILL NEVER KNOW the amazing television we had growing up in the 80s/90s
“Kids these days” is a very old song. Sung for the same reasons then as now.
Ummmm well there's reruns and CZcams so "never know" is kind of a dumb comment
@@staceyboomboom8031 Not the same. You had to live in that era to understand
Living in the 80s and 90s as a kid you have a totally different experience with the series you watched
And to that end Living the experience and watching it on television is a totally different thing than watching it on CZcams to day even if you're a struggling teenager
That is the reason it was better then than now
Just saying 🇧🇻
@@staceyboomboom8031 I agree with you. I'm 65 and my kids watched during the 80s & 90s. I watched in the 60s & 70s. My husband and I watch on FireTV. You can find literally anything & everything on youtube. That's different. Back in the day you were locked into programming by ABC, NBC, CBS, & PBS. I don't miss that. Commercials still sucked, but it was okay bc that's when you got up to go to the bathroom. SitComs were probably more stupid, but IDK, I can't stand to watch them. I hate laugh tracks bc they imply we don't know when to laugh without prompting. Special effects have continued to evolve, getting better since the 50s.
I think maybe TV shows trigger memories like music does and when people think of certain TV shows it brings them back to goodtimes.
They all look great. Blossom has really grown into her looks. She looks fabulous.
Yes, they all aged well.
Blossom was a vlogger before it was an actual thing. That's so funny to think about now. It was a great show and I really enjoyed watching the reunion; it was very well done.
parallel show to this was Clarissa....before Melissa Joan Hart became a Teenage witch....
And doogie!
You do realise Blossom was a vlogger years before it was even a thing :D Imagine this series now where they do all of their "video" blogs but shown posted on a CZcams style website :D
Yes, I realized it too.
Doogie Howser was the OG blogger.
@@scteel2457 Forgot about him lol
@@scteel2457 True. But you need a male AND female first. So they BOTH COUNT! 😃👍
“Nobody was talking about a drug addict in 1990, probably because we were all… High.” LMFAO. Groundbreaking show, brilliant acting on every level And a massive influence on anyone in any of those age ranges. I always admired the fact that there was a broad range of experience and age from both male and female perspectives in that show. It was never trite; it was never over bearing, and always stayed (Sometimes just) below the threshold of heavy-handed, even when it was doing a “very special episode“. Very much a Pioneer show.
Blossom was one of my favorite shows growing up! So many lessons learned watching it! Everyone looks great!! So glad to see an entire cast that can come together almost 30 years later and still laugh and have fun together! ❤️
So many good childhood memories associated with this show. I am glad to see a reunion!
Yes me too
One of my favorite shows. My fav was the one Joey asks this girl out who speaks Spanish and Blossom talks to her and Joey's like standing there like like what are they talking about in Spanish. 😂😂😂
😂
I loved this show. Being so tired of all the female stars being blonde and iconic, this show was 100% 💯 relatable for me.
I remember when i saw this sitcom for the 1st time with my mom & my 2 kids in October of 1990. Because i was a single teenage father 19 years old in the hood on the Southside of Chicago with 2 AMAZING kids a 2 year old son and a 4 month old daughter. My mom and I had just come from probate court and I got full custody of my babies and i was so EXCITED & NERVOUS about being a teenage single father trying to figure out what to do with my life. I loved watching this show with my mom & my 2 AMAZING babies bc, it kind of touched on some of the pressures & stressful things that i had going on in my life at that time! Nice to see the cast all grown and up and looking good.👊🏿👍🏿👌🏿
Way to be a real man. I'm sure your kids are very lucky to have you.
Well done sir.
now this is how a cast reunion should be… not just a 10 minute conversation how they haven’t kept in contact for decades… Joey Lawrence “Nothing My Love Can’t Fix” is a banger
Blossom was a show ahead of its time. So many memories from my teen years!!
I'd love to re-watch it. Sadly no streaming available (at least here in Germany). Really loved the show!
@@FrolleinMiez me too!
Germany has piratebay
@@FrolleinMiezdo you have Hulu? It’s on Hulu!
I loved Blossom. I actually learned about a period from the show. Thank goodness because my mother wasn’t equipped to tell me about it.
I remember that episode with Claire Huxtable and the cake.
My mom talked with me about it. I was lucky in that. I was the one my friends came to for answers. My children were the one their friends came to for the answers. It's sad that so many mom's or dad's don't feel or have the inclination to prepare their children in that area.
@@yve5659 I never saw that episode did she play her same character from The Cosby show?
@@beautifulwonderful4391yes I think she played her Cosby character
Roseanne introduced it to me ❤
Omigosh!!! I loved this show!! I was a teenage girl in the 90s, and I remember aaaaaalll the girls at school talking about Blossom the next day after it aired. Everybody had the Blossom style clothes and the hats with the flower on the front. The intro song still evokes sooo much happiness in me whenever I hear it. Fantastic actors. Fantastic staff behind the scenes. This show was and still is a gem. 🥰😍🤩
The editors of this video did an amazing job! They must've watched HUNDREDS of hours of footage to get everything so perfectly picked and placed in this reunion!
That's cool that Mayim saw the resemblance between her and Michael. I think she even has a strong facial resemblance to Ted Wass. Very believable casting!
People kept talking over Michael. He was my favorite, and I wanted to hear more from him.
I actually felt bad for him. Just sitting on the end getting interrupted every time he opened his mouth. Definitely should have dedicated some more time to his character.
I’m 42, born in late 79, and man did I have a crush on Joey Lawrence. Joey Lawrence and Dean Cain were my BIG crushes!
Mine was Jonathan Taylor Thomas
I was soooo in love with Dean Cain. Lol, my sister was more into Joey. But I will always be a Louis and Clark fan 😁
Yes dean cain🥰also Jason Priestley for me but now I’m 40 I’d say Ian ziering!
Whoa!
@@shannaclankie184dean cain… I forgot about my crush on him lol
I remember blossom my daughter and her friends were all enthralled with it. One summer I made all three of them matching Blossom outfits
This was a show I really enjoyed. Blossom and Six were exactly my age. BUT . . . my mom thought the show was "too grown" and resisted me watching it. LOL We laugh about it now.
They all seem like a genuinely great group of people. I was almost the same age as Blossom when the show aired, it was such an amazing show to be able to watch. Loved watching this reunion.
And I think I may still have my favourite vest from that time.
Ditto - to being the same age, and to wearing quirky vests, lol. 😂
This was an amazingly well-written show! I loved it growing up! I wanted ALL her clothes.😃
And the hats! I still love hats💜
Right! So trendy 😊
Same!
I was around Blossom’s age when the show came out and it definitely helped me growing up and shaped my personality into the future. I’m so thankful we had such good programs then. It made us good strong adults able to deal with life.
That was a very well-done reunion, and a "look back" at great TV history. 😊
How Joey always plays a Joey cracks me up. At least 5 TV/film I can think of
Tony Danza as well
Loved Blossom! So glad to see everyone grown up and looking good!
Blossom was one of my favorite shows in the early 90's. I remember with her brother being a former drug addict it seemed more true to life at the time. It also helped with warning kids in the audience of what not to do.
I loved that show so much. The casting was amazing because they do look like they are related.
Would absolutely watch a reboot with this great cast! Loved this show so much .
I was travelling and missed the show, but I love her today, Mayim Bialik is a good hearted super smart person and talented actress!!
Joey Lawrence has aged VERY well. ❤️
Eyebrows didn’t.
@@graphicallydeb9897 Plus he's lost some weight and I've heard that too can make a person appear to look younger?
Really? I came in the comments to see how many people noticed all that botox lol
@@DaveyPacheco Watch the Saved By The Botox I mean Bell reboot and you'll see plenty of botox and shiny skin LOL!
@@SuperMarioBrosIII oh yea DEFINITELY lol
IMO, Pollyanna, Punky were my younger years, Blossom was my junior high years. And then, Claire from My So Called Life were the characters I grew up with and whom I wanted to be.
Yes!!!! Same
Yes, exactly!
Im in Australia, we didn't have My so Called Life.
Mine was Punky then Blossom & Degrassi
Which show is Pollyanna ?
A woman who leaves her family to pursue her own dreams is not "feminism" is narcissism.
Mayim's irony was clearly lost on you.
If one thinks about it now, as I am. I thank these amazing actors, especially the young kids who gave up their childhood to make us laugh, cry, learn, and be wise about many real life obstacles, full of emotions, ups and downs, through again, real life situations. Yes, it was part of their career, but if we really think about it, they were our brothers and sisters on the other side if the screen!! 😊 I'm so glad to have lived in the same era!!! Thank you!!! ( P.S., Not living out he the writers and producers!) Thank you!!!
Indeed every single word you said. I feel absolutely the same about the show..
I really wish You would have mentioned the Directors of the show. Bill Bixby did a fantastic job directing about 30 of the episodes (2&3 seasons) his passing was heartbreaking, he was doing what he loved.
I saw Ted Wass on a documentary of Everybody Hates Chris. He said he directed about 20 episodes of Blossom
I still have a thing for Michael Stoyanov.
I was 12 when this show came out and I wanted to BE Blossom. Such a great show and a great role model for a young girl like me.
I was 20something when this show premiered and cried with happiness and gratitude to see a smart, strong, positive young woman being represented on TV.
To me, Ted Wass will always be Danny from "Soap". His rapid-fire comedy exchanges with Richard Mulligan weren't gold, they were platinum!
One of the great things about Blossom was that they handled serious topics without being too heavy-handed about it, a trap the far too many 80s and 90s sitcoms fell into. Also, Buzz, the grandfather (played by Bernard Hughes) was hilarious.
LOVED Tes Wass as Danny on "Soap". So funny and "hot"😍😍😘😘
Burt & Danny. One of the best comedy duos ever
My absolute favorite show when I was a teen. It would be such a great show to bring back!
And all of the main characters are still living!
NBC is doing a lot of reboots on their Peacock streaming service. If they can bring back Punky Brewster why not Blossom
i was 24 and watched every week.. i had a crush on Anthony.. I believe it was a 50/50 deal. 50% blossom / Mayim Bialik..50% Michael Stoyanov.. I truly do not think it was underrated, but it should have been enjoyed a lot more.. I loved the show and I'm a lifelong fan of all of them. I loved Mayim's performance on Fat Actress so much... and hands down, she is the best host of Jeopardy since Alex Trebek.!
I would love for Netflix to do a reboot of some sort... I loved this show when I was a kid..
So did we all just see Blossom be the first Vlogger who ended the video with the hand 🤚🏻 on the camera 🎥 WHOOOOAAAAHHH 🫶👏🫶
I loved blossom. I was a teenager in the 90s
I actually am 36 and just started watching this show for the first time a month ago. I grew yup being more into video games and playing outside and did not care for TV. This show is awesome and it is hilarious even with our modern world most of the content still is relatable. I wish I had watched this show as a kid when it did air. I wish they would do a reboot of the show as adults that would be so awesome!
Wow, I would never guess.
You must have them good genes.
:) Thank you!@@thenifell
I remember watching the show and enjoying it. This reunion (which I didn't watch when it was broadcast) has put a smile on my 70-year old face.
I totally wanted Claire Huxtable to be my mum too...
I have very fond memories watching this with my older sister in the 90's and always enjoyed Ted Wass playing a single parent as a father, it was very unique and refreshing.
Ted Wass as a single parent. A lot different than playing Danny Dallas 😂
I loooove Blossom! I looved Ted and the dad and how strong, reasonable, and caring he was!! The characters were all so likable!
Lode?
I used to LOVE Blossom! My mom had one of those bucket hats with the big flower in the front and I used to beg her to let me wear it. I sure do miss the 80s & 90s. 🥰
I liked Blossom and My So Called Life back then because the main characters were flawed and normal is such relatable way... as a teenager back then these were important.
So true! Fantastic coming of age shows that remind me of my early to mid teens ❤
My so called.life was way too short lived.
I loved it too. I got the box set.
My so called life….I have the box set & still watch it every year. I’m 40🫣still touches me with nostalgia & emotions
So glad that Call me Kat made 2 episodes with her Blossom Family. And that Ted Wass played the ghost of her father on CMK.
“We’re not fat enough to have good personalities” - Six
I’m dead 😂☠️
Still one of my all time favorite shows.
What??! I never knew they had a reunion, glad this came up on my recommended.
One of my favorite sitcoms growing up. Great representation of a girl growing up. The whole cast was awesome. Nice to see them all! 🫶
I loved this show. I was 13 when the show first started so it was very relatable to me. I watched every single episode 🩷
"That's what that burning tire smell is" lol 😂🤣
Blossom was one of my favorite shows. Lots of people here saying this show was a favorite when they were growing up. I was in my late 30s when this show aired. I watched religiously.
30yrs later and I am still in love with Jenna
I love these reunion shows. 😃🥰
I love Blossom!!! Watching this brought me back to my preteen days. My sister and I watched the show religiously. Good times!
Don't get me wrong, I loved Blossom too. But really, we were watching all of this real life subject matter (and more) unfold in every episode of Roseanne starting in the 80's.
I worked on it, fond memories, and what a lucky person I was for being a part of it!
Shame about Bill Bixby he directed a few eps didn’t he?
@@ronaldcustard4636 Hi, he did, quite a few to be honest. Another fun fact, is the stage they shot on was also used years ago for THE MONKEES series!
Oh, you have to tell us your favorite memory from being apart of this show!!🥰🥰🥰🥰
@@cherierussell5017 Thank you for the question, it was long ago, so you will have to indulge me. My fond memory was the one Xmas party, we had casino tables and I was playing against Mayim & Jenna. It was a fun and energetic set, Fridays when they shot was always full of surprises and takes!
@@TheNJ54see, that makes me so happy to know this gem of a show brought so much joy. From the folks who worked hard to bring it to life to my friends and I in small-town Ohio who adored it every week in our living rooms. You contributed to something really special. Well done and bravo!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I loved Blossom. Joey was my favorite. All were good actors. I enjoyed all of them
They all look so gorgeous!
My first two role models as a kid, Punky Brewster, who taught me to be myself and Blossom who taught me about feminism and not conforming,,,I had a Blossom hat and wore it all of the time and I loved Six, I related to her because I had to go to speech therapy as a young child because I talked too fast...My mom always told the SLP that she sounds just like that girl on Blossom....I still talk a little fast but I've definitely slowed down but I can bring out my inner Six if I want to
The one line I’ve always remembered from this show was Joey’s “I hid it… in my head!” IDK why
I loved this show! I had it bad for Joey Lawrence and I though he had awesome chemistry with Six. I was so happy when Jenna was on The Parkers, she plays the best friend role really well They could have included Finola Hughes from General Hospital in the reunion, I love her!
I watch blossom on Hulu. Watching this reminded me of the show I used to watch when I was a teen. Great to see everyone together again.
Thanks. I was going to look to see where I could watch it again.
I loved this show so much. I loved that Blossom wasn't like the kids on the other shows. The story lines were relatable.
I loved “Blossom”!!! and “Beaches” is one of my favorite movies…even though it makes me cry every single time.
Mayim is one of my favorite actors!
This was the exact time I was the same age and I was so hooked on this show. I cried at the final episode with y’all. One of the best shows on TV back in the day. So real and ahead of it’s time. Thanks for sharing this @People
I was in my 20’s when Blossom was on. But I loved it! ❤️💐
My best friend & I love this show when we were kids.
This show brought so many memories and emotions from my childhood. Now I can see how much I learned with it.
My favorite episode was the dream one with Little Richard! I laugh so hard everytime I see it!!!
This was one of my favorites as a kid. Damn I feel old
I loved Blossom!! A classic show no doubt
What’s funny is although it was groundbreaking, growing up in that era I didn’t realize that because I was so young. Blossom would premiere right after the “Fresh Prince of Bel air” I honestly didn’t watch too many episodes of Blossom but I remember the main characters and was real sad when it went off the air because it was one of those shows that as a kid I just thought it would be around forever like the wonder years. It was so part of my childhood❤️
Just finished rewatching The Wonder Years last week and I just finished season one of this last night.
Great call to bring in Ted as a single dad.
i always like the intro to her show
I feel so old. Blossom was my show!
This was one of my favorite shows!
I totally forgot how much Blossom literally took over my life.
I love this show and I miss it. It was fun, wholesome and original.
Mayim will play Bette Middler in a screen biopic one day
She did play a young Bette Midler in Beaches. 🤷♀️
@@roshieifra I know - I’m saying as she’s grown up, she could play an older Bette😂
I certainly hope so 💗
I was really blessed growing up with great tv. Thank you for sharing People.

So much fun to see my fav 90s family together all these years later
Absolutely top 3 FAVES Ever. I do still watch with my daughter and we both Love it. How can you not LOVE this show and each character in it? Such an Amazing show with Amazing storylines that yes still fit today. This is Fantastic to see All together and EVERYONE looks so Great. Thanks for all the memories, all the relatable life moments we had. Truly the Best.
When the first episode went on the air, july 5, 1990, I was 32 yrs old. Not exactly a kid anymore but I loved this show and looked forward to it every week. Great show, used to watch it with my wife and kids.
This Joey character reminds me of the "Friends" Joey.
I had a crush on Jenna. I actually cried when I read about the struggles she was going through.
My father used to be amused about me having a crush on " this little Jewish girl".
