- Skylanders Swap Force has swap abilities which is another classification method to identify Skylanders and deepen gameplay, and Skylanders imaginator's counterpart to this is the battle classes. Today we will compare and contrast the good and bad of both of these, from character diversification, to side zones unlocked, and far more. Enjoy!

I much prefer the swap abilities, they give fun mini games like the swap zones and also the skylanders of this type don't feel as repetitive as the battle classes.
Honestly the movement types and battle classes just feel like artificial ways to make you buy more Skylanders to 100% the games past just getting 1 of every element. There's a reason people made lists of the 2 ways you can get the minimum amount of swappers to have every movement type and element.
The fact that all the swappers are male is also beta behavior
honestly facts, i think i find it more annoying than the elemental gates in TT requiring trap masters tbh

Boom Bloom was my absolute favorite pf the Senseis! I only got four of them and was lucky enough for her to be one of them!

Swap abilities in my opinion seemed overshadowed by the thought of just swapping skylanders themselves. I understand that they were likely introduced to flesh out the gimmick a bit more, but very rarely do I ever think about them while playing Swap force.
I really like these vids of comparing the other games to imagintors
personally i would call the quadroped class the Creature Class because its not just dragons that have 4 legs i mean look at hot dog funny bone trailblazer sonic boom etc
The swap ability at least gave you a Minigames. The battle classes do nothing except boost your imaginators
I liked the swap zones up until it came to trying to 100% the game. It really makes a difference.
Spin swap zones were described in the Bible in a chapter about hell.
But if you look at the two spin bottom half’s
here’s some BOTW/TOTK characters as battle classes Daruk/Yunobo=fire smasher Riju=lightning swashbuckler (she has 2 swords) Revali/Teba/Tulin= air archer
Yunobo:(AOC) fire brawler
I’d agree that Swap Force did pretty much everything better than Imaginators. I don’t know what else to add.

Honestly id say if you want to 100 percent swap force just get the top blast then the bottoms buckler, rouser, range, charge, zone, bomb, shift and shake then just get a second controller for the gates

Okay, but have you considered giving Skylanders DND classes is really cool.
Even with the battle classes getting in the way of the creative skylanders designs, imaginators still has one of the best rosters in the series

imo, the Swap abilities feel a little pointless, like why swap them in the first place (that isn't the dual elemental gates)?

also, you can *create* each of those (and Boom Bloom uses a whip, not shuriken, and Cortex used a gun instead of a staff)

When they mentioned this video on stream, I thought it was just a joke. But here we are
Both are pretty mid if I'm being real. They limit the attack types the Skylanders can have, but if I have to choose one it would be Swap Abilities for sure. Even though I don't like Swap Force I feel like the Swap abilities don't really feel forced unlike some villans for imaginators with the battle classes.
Some of the battle classes were worse/less optimal than others.
Well neither are to creative or needed. Battle classes shouldn't really exist. All it does is force you to use different sky chi shrines.

To be fair Giants is my favorite game. But I think giants were a lackluster gimmick.

Battle classes have no intricate design to be fair superchargers has the same problem and I don’t think anyone has complained about that because they all need to drive
