I met him one time back in '94 at a convenience store in Lewisville, Tx. I was behind him in line and he asked the clerk for a can of Copenhagen. As soon as he spoke, I recognized his voice without seeing his face. When me and my dad walked outside, my dad asked him if he was Randy White and he said "yeah', and my dad not knowing what else to say, asked him if he could shake his hand and Randy said sure. It was kind of awkward, but Randy was a nice guy. He was my dad's favorite player, it was really something that we got to meet him like that.

I told him it was great and we talked about the Landry years for a few minutes. I told him about a picture of him in the paper once, he had an opposing player by the jersey with one hand, Redskins I think, and the player's helmet in the other. It looked like he was beating the guy with his own helmet. He had this little smile, and said, "Well, things happened." Nicest guy in the world. Randy is my all-time favorite. I have been blessed to be able to call him a friend now which still is hard to believe but I have asked him about that game, I had it in my head it was vs. the Rams but he corrected me that it was the Bears, he said the guy kept chopping him in his knees and we warned him twice, the third time Randy said "I grabbed his face mask and tried to rip his head off." Dead serious. I laughed but realized he wasn't using a euphemism, he meant it! Randy is as good a person as he was a player, I've watched him be approached and every single time he is kind and gracious. We were at a shooting range and one of the range masters was a young marine, a asked him if he knew who that was (Randy) he didn't but when I told him his eyes got big and asked can you introduce me?! I did and Randy picked up on the knife the young man was wearing as Randy builds them, the guy shows it to him and Randy in a tank top & shorts pulls one of his out of his waistband and the kids thinkin that's awesome, Randy says "you like that?" Of course it's yes! Randy says write down your address for me and I'll send you one.

Randy was my favorite University of Md. Player .We used to frequent the Paragon and we were having a couple beers at the Italian Garden Restaurant waiting for the club to open and in walks Randy he was a Mountain of a Man a cross between the cartoon version of the royal mounted police and a Marvel Comic super Hero and he was an Imposing specimen of a human being and it was in all honestly intimidating .He walked up behind us and proceeded to have a few rounds of beer with us and he could not have been any nicer. Thank God Wish the skins could have drafted him

I always heard Randy was strong as heck in high school benched 300 and over 400 in college he was never weak. He also wasn't small. 6 ft 4 260? He was a phenom on the D line. And I'm from Baltimore so I followed him in college.

I had a friend that played on the offensive line in the NFL during the Randy White era and he stated that Randy could do whatever he wanted to do and no one could stop him except on the plays that he took off....as most all NFL players will do once in awhile.

I wouldn't say that he was the first undersized, athletic DT in history. In my lifetime, Alan Page set the standard for undersized DT's who thrived on quickness and athleticism. Now, even as a Vikings fan, and I love me some Alan Page, if you gave me a choice between White and Page, I would be awful tempted by White.

@@paineintheass233 The time that Page played in was one in which the size of linemen was growing, pushing up to the 270 level, and Page himself was losing weight. Towards the end of his time with the Vikings, he was down to less than 220 pounds. Page's game was getting off the ball fast, hitting a gap fast, and exploiting it.

Got to see him one time when he was doing a live remote for one of the local sports radio stations here in the DFW area (early 90s before the Ticket). You don't realize how big he is until you see him up close and in person. It was like looking at the side of a house, and I'm over six feet tall myself!

People forget how good the Cowboys front four was. Randy White and Harvey Martin were so good playing off each other. Harvey had 20 sacks in 1977 and 14 in 1976 and 1978. Then there was Too Tall Jones who if he didn't get a sack could knock the ball down with his tall height. If they were doubling Randy then Harvey Martin would get a sack or Too Tall.

When my son was a teen, Randy White comes into the steakhouse my son was a waiter. The hostess hadn't a clue who he was and informed Randy it'd be a 30 minute wait. My son spoke to the hostess and said, "You can't make this man wait! That's Randy "FUCKING" White!" She turned to Randy, "Is that right?" Without hesitation, "Yes mam, I AM Randy "FUCKING" White!"😂😂
