- I finally finished this. It's been over 6 months since Gravity Falls ended and I'm still not over it, especially these two old men (and with Journal 3's release I'm not moving on anytime soon). When I heard this song, I instantly thought of both Stan and Ford's journey's; together and then separate and then finally reconciled again. And I am so so so thankful they finally got their happy ending after so many years of separation and suffering. Enjoy!!

I really liked how the show portrayed siblings and how Dipper/Mabel were used as a foil for Stanley/Stanford
I was ten when it ended... I wasn't always sensitive... When I was ten I was like the most non-sensitive person ever but then when the finale came I was sobbing in bed... That was when everything changed.

I first saw this months ago. That is, I saw about the first 30 seconds of it. I had to stop there before I ended up bawling in front of my sister, the Dipper to my Mabel, whom I knew was going to be proposed to by her boyfriend (now fiance) in the coming future, and after 20 years of sisterhood, darn near twinhood, 20 years of being soulmates.. she'd be gone. She'll be married two months from today, and while I'm so so soo happy for her.. it's just gonna be different, forever.

This video has come across my tumblr dash on multiple occasions. I've seen it soo many times and every time I still get the feels. I love how the music/lyrics work with the video clips perfectly. Beautiful.
Let me just say some things. First of all, this comment is lots of things, lines, a message, and a memory. This song is powerful. Gravity Falls, is powerful. Also before I say anything else, does this sound like teenage Ford singing to anyone else or just me?

For all the vibe I got from the show, most thought Stan as the failure and Ford the success, when in truth Stan could be considered the more successful one. At the beginning of their lives Stan was thrown out, left scam after scam behind him, arrested, divorced, you name it while Ford managed to rise past the loss of a real opportunity to get his Phds and a grant and did exactly what he wanted documenting phenomenon.
But by the end of the story, Stan has a successful business, standing in his community, the love of close friends and kids that look up to and love him. Not only that, but he is the one who is able to fix not only his mistake of Ford going into the portal but defeating Sypher and correcting the mistake that Ford made.
Being young there is so much before you and many opportunities to dream big and gain fame, riches, power, etc. Yet in the end, when you're old and nearing the end of your life, the thing that really matters most is family. Just like the song showed, Stan had exactly that.
I love this show; they have an older character that lived his life and learned from his mistakes. This song really suits him.
