For a moment there I thought Dipper died, and the first thought that came to mind as to why he did was that Bill actually threw Dipper's body off the Gravity Falls tower in the sock opera episode.
I think Bill is the singer watching every body. He lived and then realized his mistakes. He sings a song to Dipper and he killed himself with peace watching the end of a summer.
I don't... necessarily believe that he will never realize his mistakes. Based on what he's said and what we know about him, something bad must have happened that made him this way. That doesn't make it right. But it's something to think about. I want to think that wherever he is now, experiencing defeat taught him something. I want to think that somewhere, he has feelings.

This reminded of me and brother discussing what happened after the events of Gravity Falls, it went something like this: Dipper continues finding more of the unknown as a career, with Mable assisting him sometimes. Mable has a career as a fashion designer and still collects stickers from around the world. Soos and Melody get married, making Abulita proud. Gideon lives a normal life now and helps his father and mother out sometimes. Pacifica gets disowned from the Northwest family, she feels happier that she's not associated with them anymore and starts a charity for cats. Wendy feels closer with her friends and Robbie even joins them sometimes. Grunkle Stan and Great Uncle Ford spend more time together on The Stan Of War II searching for the unknown of the deep or goofing off. Old Man Mcgucket/Fiddleford is still in contact with Great Uncle Ford, discussing what he and the Mystery Twins found. And as for Bill... we don't really know.
I actually kinda like this ending better than the real one. Pacifica is going out into the world, fully ready to embrace it as well as whatever comes with it, Wendy and her Dad have a moment together (I'm a sucker for parent/child moments), Dipper chooses to leave behind the thing that he relied on so thoroughly, and is then by the thing that he SHOULD rely on: Mabel. Heck, even Bill looks at peace with everything. (Which is a surprisingly appealing thought, considering that he's basically a god that draws power from chaos and insanity.) All in all, I *really* enjoyed this video.
I found this video when I was 12. When I was 16, The night my friend went missing I watched it again and just sobbed all night listening to this song on repeat. It just happened to be in my recommendations again. This song and show have such a connection to me I can’t describe
Mabel wakes up to see that her brother isn't there, but his pinetree cap laying there. He must have woken up earlier. Meanwhile, Stan watches his brother looking at a picture of themselves in their younger years. He walkes up to him an holds his bottle (of Idk what that is) infront of his face and smiles. Soos drove on top of a cliff to show his girlfriend Gravity Falls. She excitedly looks at the town. In the forest, Wendy and her dad stand infront of a grave, mourning over a beloved person. (Her mom, maybe?) Wendy lays flowers on the grave and says goodbye with a smile, her dad laying an arm around his daughter. It then shows Fiddleford McGucket, who is slowly regaining his sanity after all these years. He's working in the dump that he had called home for the past 30 years when he heard footsteps outside. Standing up to look what it was, his eyes widen in shock as he sees his son standing before him, a soft smile plastered on his face. Pacifica wrote a letter to her parents, saying that she will be away for some time. Her parents are shocked when they read the letter. But Pacifica, who only looked back for once, is confident and goes on. While Robbie, the emo that he is, walks into the kitchen to be greeted by his parents. It switches back to Mabel. She wears her signature sweater, the one with the shooting stars. She looks out of the window and enjoys the morning while fixing the glass of a broken picture. Putting it down on the desk, she grabs Dipper's cap and runs out of the house where Stan and Ford are sitting outside. They cling their bottles together and start drinking. Mabel waves at them at which Ford starts laughing, his brother following him soon after. The girl then starts running into the forest. Dipper had all three journals with him. Each laid out in a row according to their number. He decided that it was best to burn them. They were just too dangerous if they get into the wrong hands. He looked ahead of him and saw everyone that was important to him: Soos, Wendy, Grunkle Ford (in the middle where he can't be seen), Grunkle Stan and Mabel. They all would be safe when he proceeded to burn the journals. With the match lit up, he drops it onto the journals, burning them. Bill was just behind him, making his surroundings grey in color. He watches the boy burning the three journals. His hope to ever come back slowly turning into ashes as the three books did so. The dream demon closes his eye and disappears, but still watching him from within the birch trees. Dipper's sister finally finds him, the ashes of the journals laying on the gras. He turns around and sees Mabel. She puts his cap on his head and they both start laughing. They realize that the war has ended and that this was a happy ending. At last, it shows the picture that Mabel has taped together earlier. It shows both of them laughing, resembling that the war has clearly ended. With the three journals burned, they were all safe and Bill would not have a chance to come back. _The war was finally over._ Damn, that would make a pretty good fan fiction, if you ask me. That was just beautiful. Edit: Jesus, how many comments am I gonna receive for Soos' girlfriend's name. I've corrected it now lol, thanks for the corrections.
Pretty sure that that was his son, not his younger self. He had said in that one episode with the ‘robot’ monster that he missed talking with his son and all that good shtuff.
Coming back to this 5 years later is just a treat I’m gonna get my kids to watch this show and then watch this. Edit: it’s been a whole year since I wrote this I miss this show but I have good news for people who loved it like me, there are still amazing shows coming out like the owl house and amphibia which were made by people who worked on this show I also recommend rewatching the older stuff like gravity falls and adventure time and Steven universe and remember greatness inspires greatness so that means more shows will come out just as good as this Edit:a year later again and I just wanted to see this man I hope one day I make a show as good as this. Well, can't disagree with you guys on that part. I just said Pacifica's specifically because she's freakin' what, 12 years old? And she just ran away from home. Doods, that takes *balls* to do. And her mom's reaction didn't help water it down at all.
I remember watching this years ago. Expecting so much and yet so little came out. I'm now in my final year of high school and still don't know what will come of my future but I know I needn't to worry as much as I did before. Shows like this helped me realize that it is absolutely ok to be who I am now. I love me as I am and I am excited to see what'll become of me and my future! Thanks Gravity Falls for making me always hope for a better future.
A happy 10th anniversary to this show. I'm honestly always getting choked up when i rewatch this... I adore the message i got from the show and try to live by it. Life is uncertain and the future has so much to come. I try to live day by day with the positivity of Mabel and the curiosity of dipper. Thanks for everything, see you next summer~
This video is such a fandom classic. Gives me so much nostalgia and memories relating to regular summer 4 am car trips. Tired, safe, and happy spending the weeks with my dad. Good shit. So incredibly powerfully good shit.
The way how this video was going felt like the war against Bill Cipher ended with Dipper sacrificing his life to ensure their victory. And, to be honest, I wanted that to be the case, as it adds an emotional punch. It's still a good video and the artwork of the characters and environment is amazing, including the choice of music fits everything and everything really well, but I will admit that the fakeout took away from the emotion that was built up. Other than that, great job! Unless if the video was implying that everyone thought Dipper was dead after he had banished himself and Bill Cipher to another dimension to save Gravity Falls, but took the journals with him so no one can summon Bill again, found a way to come back that involved burning the journals (maybe one of those "you must sacrifice something precious to you" type deals) and managed to come back. Mable (possibly having been sent a message from Dipper through her dreams) put up the picture as a sign of hope and ran out to see if he was truly going to be there, found him and put his hat on him as her way of saying, "Welcome back, dummy." Or maybe she was imagining it all in her head that she would find him there. Hmm, this video leaves more up to the imagination than I originally thought. Well, played.
Bill is both a psychopath and a genius he found a way to literally burn a whole dimension to the foundation then found out how to descend to the next THEN broke out of a the place that no living thing has ever got out...but he got killed

This series was a masterpiece. It had great characters, an amazing plot, pretty good development, and it even had a spectacular ending. It would've been nice to have some epilogue of some sort. Maybe another season would've been really pushing it, but one episode after the ending (maybe depicting the aftermath of it all) wouldn't have been too hard, right? Man, I still can't believe it's been 6 years since then. I really feel old now.
This show was at least 4 years old...man I remeber when it first came out, like it was yesterday. Seeing the first trailer for it on my living room tv. Waking up at least 8 in the morning with my bowl of cereal, watching re runs of the first season, dyciphering codes at the end of each episode. When my grandma was alive she'd watch it with me, this show brought me closer to my brother. I was ten years old back then. I was so sad the show ended, This show was my childhood, I'd talk about it non stop, and sometimes even my dad watched it with us, saying how much he related to grunkle stan. I used to read fanfics on quotev all the time, i also remeber On Halloween I was bill and my brother was dipper it was just..So sweet to have those memories with a broken family such as mine.. I can never thank Alex enough for making such a beautiful show such as this, and forming me into a better person. Like-

I feel like if they added another season it wouldn't be as good as before. It would be nice to have another season if they kept the quality. The way Gravity Falls ended is beautiful enough, though.
My theory is everyone was dead as the song stated except dipper. Then dipper made a deal with bill. The deal was that if he destroyed the books everyone would come back to life. Bill was there to make the books were destroyed. Then Mabel showed up alive and well. Wendy was at dippers grave. Wendy, her dad, and everyone else was in the afterlife. The cross thing was less of a grave and more of a memorial. Her dad was there for moral support because she did actually love him. At the end everyone was in gray cuz they were all dead. And bill was there overseeing the deal. Everyone was gone once Mabel arrived. The dipper hugged Mabel because he was so happy that the deal worked and he had his family back.

Soos is showing the final peace in Gravity Falls, Wendy is making peace with the death of her mother, *(we have never seen Wendy's mother yet, so... Just going off what I can)* Old Man McGucket is making peace with his son, Pacifica is running away; living the way SHE wants to live, Robbie... I-idk what about him xD I guess being a better person - and that first step is with his parents, and Dipper and Bill Cipher? Welll, those two certainly got one final goodbye. After the war had ended, Bill decided to make one last, final, deal with Dipper, and this time...with no catch. What was the deal? The deal was that Dipper would burn the books, burn them so they could be lost forever, never to be found again, never to have the chance of falling into the wrong hands, to be free from humanity and it's mistakes, So that Gravity Falls...and the rest of the world and humanity...could be safe. And Bill Cipher's final last words to the hero, Dipper Pines....was thank you. "Thank You Dipper Pines. For _EVERYTHING_" " _I Mean, Who Would Sacrifice Everything They Worked For Just For Their Dumb Sibling Anyway?_ " The Pines Family Would ~ *_The End ~_* ... Or is it only, the begging? ~

I like to imagine that the information about Bill in the books allow Bill to exist as a tiny drop of himself, not strictly in a physical form but just enough to let Dipper know he is there and watching his final death upon the book's destruction.

I think Bill is the singer watching every body. He lived and then realized his mistakes. He sings a song to Dipper and he killed himself with peace watching the end of a summer.
Bill doesnt seem to be like that. he is chaotic. also im pretty sure bill sounds nothing like that.

This reminded of me and brother discussing what happened after the events of Gravity Falls, it went something like this:
Dipper continues finding more of the unknown as a career, with Mable assisting him sometimes.
Mable has a career as a fashion designer and still collects stickers from around the world.
Soos and Melody get married, making Abulita proud.
Gideon lives a normal life now and helps his father and mother out sometimes.
Pacifica gets disowned from the Northwest family, she feels happier that she's not associated with them anymore and starts a charity for cats.
Wendy feels closer with her friends and Robbie even joins them sometimes.
Grunkle Stan and Great Uncle Ford spend more time together on The Stan Of War II searching for the unknown of the deep or goofing off.
Old Man Mcgucket/Fiddleford is still in contact with Great Uncle Ford, discussing what he and the Mystery Twins found.
And as for Bill... we don't really know.

I actually kinda like this ending better than the real one. Pacifica is going out into the world, fully ready to embrace it as well as whatever comes with it, Wendy and her Dad have a moment together (I'm a sucker for parent/child moments), Dipper chooses to leave behind the thing that he relied on so thoroughly, and is then by the thing that he SHOULD rely on: Mabel. Heck, even Bill looks at peace with everything. (Which is a surprisingly appealing thought, considering that he's basically a god that draws power from chaos and insanity.)
All in all, I *really* enjoyed this video.

I found this video when I was 12. When I was 16, The night my friend went missing I watched it again and just sobbed all night listening to this song on repeat. It just happened to be in my recommendations again. This song and show have such a connection to me I can’t describe
Mabel wakes up to see that her brother isn't there, but his pinetree cap laying there. He must have woken up earlier. Meanwhile, Stan watches his brother looking at a picture of themselves in their younger years. He walkes up to him an holds his bottle (of Idk what that is) infront of his face and smiles.
Soos drove on top of a cliff to show his girlfriend Gravity Falls. She excitedly looks at the town.
In the forest, Wendy and her dad stand infront of a grave, mourning over a beloved person. (Her mom, maybe?) Wendy lays flowers on the grave and says goodbye with a smile, her dad laying an arm around his daughter.
It then shows Fiddleford McGucket, who is slowly regaining his sanity after all these years. He's working in the dump that he had called home for the past 30 years when he heard footsteps outside. Standing up to look what it was, his eyes widen in shock as he sees his son standing before him, a soft smile plastered on his face.
Pacifica wrote a letter to her parents, saying that she will be away for some time. Her parents are shocked when they read the letter. But Pacifica, who only looked back for once, is confident and goes on.
While Robbie, the emo that he is, walks into the kitchen to be greeted by his parents.
It switches back to Mabel. She wears her signature sweater, the one with the shooting stars. She looks out of the window and enjoys the morning while fixing the glass of a broken picture. Putting it down on the desk, she grabs Dipper's cap and runs out of the house where Stan and Ford are sitting outside. They cling their bottles together and start drinking. Mabel waves at them at which Ford starts laughing, his brother following him soon after. The girl then starts running into the forest.
Dipper had all three journals with him. Each laid out in a row according to their number. He decided that it was best to burn them. They were just too dangerous if they get into the wrong hands. He looked ahead of him and saw everyone that was important to him: Soos, Wendy, Grunkle Ford (in the middle where he can't be seen), Grunkle Stan and Mabel. They all would be safe when he proceeded to burn the journals. With the match lit up, he drops it onto the journals, burning them.
Bill was just behind him, making his surroundings grey in color. He watches the boy burning the three journals. His hope to ever come back slowly turning into ashes as the three books did so. The dream demon closes his eye and disappears, but still watching him from within the birch trees.
Dipper's sister finally finds him, the ashes of the journals laying on the gras. He turns around and sees Mabel. She puts his cap on his head and they both start laughing. They realize that the war has ended and that this was a happy ending.
At last, it shows the picture that Mabel has taped together earlier. It shows both of them laughing, resembling that the war has clearly ended. With the three journals burned, they were all safe and Bill would not have a chance to come back.
_The war was finally over._
Damn, that would make a pretty good fan fiction, if you ask me. That was just beautiful.

Coming back to this 5 years later is just a treat I’m gonna get my kids to watch this show and then watch this. Edit: it’s been a whole year since I wrote this I miss this show but I have good news for people who loved it like me, there are still amazing shows coming out like the owl house and amphibia which were made by people who worked on this show I also recommend rewatching the older stuff like gravity falls and adventure time and Steven universe and remember greatness inspires greatness so that means more shows will come out just as good as this

I'm now in my final year of high school and still don't know what will come of my future but I know I needn't to worry as much as I did before. Shows like this helped me realize that it is absolutely ok to be who I am now. I love me as I am and I am excited to see what'll become of me and my future! Thanks Gravity Falls for making me always hope for a better future.
A happy 10th anniversary to this show. I'm honestly always getting choked up when i rewatch this... I adore the message i got from the show and try to live by it. Life is uncertain and the future has so much to come. I try to live day by day with the positivity of Mabel and the curiosity of dipper. Thanks for everything, see you next summer~

This video is such a fandom classic. Gives me so much nostalgia and memories relating to regular summer 4 am car trips. Tired, safe, and happy spending the weeks with my dad. Good shit. So incredibly powerfully good shit.
The way how this video was going felt like the war against Bill Cipher ended with Dipper sacrificing his life to ensure their victory. And, to be honest, I wanted that to be the case, as it adds an emotional punch. It's still a good video and the artwork of the characters and environment is amazing, including the choice of music fits everything and everything really well, but I will admit that the fakeout took away from the emotion that was built up. Other than that, great job!
Unless if the video was implying that everyone thought Dipper was dead after he had banished himself and Bill Cipher to another dimension to save Gravity Falls, but took the journals with him so no one can summon Bill again, found a way to come back that involved burning the journals (maybe one of those "you must sacrifice something precious to you" type deals) and managed to come back. Mable (possibly having been sent a message from Dipper through her dreams) put up the picture as a sign of hope and ran out to see if he was truly going to be there, found him and put his hat on him as her way of saying, "Welcome back, dummy."
Or maybe she was imagining it all in her head that she would find him there.

This series was a masterpiece. It had great characters, an amazing plot, pretty good development, and it even had a spectacular ending. It would've been nice to have some epilogue of some sort. Maybe another season would've been really pushing it, but one episode after the ending (maybe depicting the aftermath of it all) wouldn't have been too hard, right?

This show was at least 4 years old...man I remeber when it first came out, like it was yesterday. Seeing the first trailer for it on my living room tv. Waking up at least 8 in the morning with my bowl of cereal, watching re runs of the first season, dyciphering codes at the end of each episode. When my grandma was alive she'd watch it with me, this show brought me closer to my brother. I was ten years old back then. I was so sad the show ended, This show was my childhood, I'd talk about it non stop, and sometimes even my dad watched it with us, saying how much he related to grunkle stan. I used to read fanfics on quotev all the time, i also remeber On Halloween I was bill and my brother was dipper it was just..So sweet to have those memories with a broken family such as mine.. I can never thank Alex enough for making such a beautiful show such as this, and forming me into a better person. Like-

My theory is everyone was dead as the song stated except dipper. Then dipper made a deal with bill. The deal was that if he destroyed the books everyone would come back to life. Bill was there to make the books were destroyed. Then Mabel showed up alive and well.
Wendy was at dippers grave. Wendy, her dad, and everyone else was in the afterlife. The cross thing was less of a grave and more of a memorial. Her dad was there for moral support because she did actually love him.
At the end everyone was in gray cuz they were all dead. And bill was there overseeing the deal. Everyone was gone once Mabel arrived. The dipper hugged Mabel because he was so happy that the deal worked and he had his family back.

After the war had ended, Bill decided to make one last, final, deal with Dipper, and this time...with no catch. What was the deal?
