  • In the golden age of Old Hollywood, behind the dazzling lights and silver screens, lay a world of seduction and secrets. The leading ladies of this era weren't just famous for their iconic roles; some were infamous for their private lives. They defied the norms, challenged conventions, and their liaisons spoke volumes in a society bound by strict moral codes. These actresses, adored by millions, navigated a labyrinth of love affairs that could make or break careers and reputations. Hated by some, envied by others, their stories are a testament to an era where the glitz of Hollywood glamour masked a reality more intriguing than any film plot.

It would be nice if posts like this also got someone who knew how to read to narrate them. Too many of them seem to be recorded as they're read for the first time, with more than a few of the words mispronounced. You'd think the narrator would ask someone. If he (it's always "he") doesn't know, he should ask someone how to say something.

Especially when Talluah was living in London and when anyone knocked on her door at her house there, she would answer the door and she would be totally nude. Last role for her was Batman in the late 60’s with Adam West, then she died shortly after that.
I saw that on that on “E” Entertainment Television show “Mysteries and Scandals”. Talluah was even extremely angry that she didn’t have the chance to get Scarlet O’Hara in “Gone with the Wind” as she was an actual southern woman who would have fit the part easily.

Tallulah's father was William B. Bankhead, a Congressman from Alabama who served as the 42nd Speaker of the US House of Representatives from 1936-40. He died in office at the age of 66. Not that he had any external sources of stress, mind you.
Vivien Leigh was bi-polar and would often disappear for days and not remember what happened when she returned. Olivier only found out what happened to her when young men would bring her home and demand hush money.

Is this read by an AI voice? I ask because I keep hearing the sort of errors (missing words, wrong word choice) that a native speaker would catch and correct but an AI would miss. e.g. Missing "Fairbanks" when saying Douglas Fairbanks Jr., saying Sophia Loren was "starring" and Jayne Mansfield.

In the early 50’s while being stationed out of Long Beach, a shipmate was telling of an adventure he had experienced the previous weekend. Said he and a couple of other sailors were picked up by a chauffeur driven limousine and taken to a movie actress home where they all had sex. Typical weekend warrior BS story I’m thinking. Some years later I read about an actress who actually did do this, picked up sailors knowing they would be free of VD…She was well known at the time but her name escapes me.
