Was there this summer for the tour and afternoon tea and then went back and stayed the night at the cottage and did the guided tour!!! Such an incredible experience!!!
That sounds amazing 🤩 🇬🇧
How wonderful. That would be a dream come true. Was it very expensive?
@@Paola-jf2qf it was an anniversary gift from our son but yes I believe it's priced as a 5 star accommodation! Definitely worth it!!!
It reminds me of the Downton Abbey Christmas Special. Also, I found out only recently that he owned Highclere Castle. Now, the references to Ancient Egypt made sense.
There's just something about a British Christmas. 😊🇬🇧
Love it
Lovely
They really lucked out with Dorton abbey. The money brought in should keep that place going for multiple generations
What's the average temperature in the often used spaces? I mean, wow.
Fiona replied to me on her instagram account - she said "this is not a museum"... REALLY? you have to buy tickets-there are scheduled tours- there is a exhibition/display in the basement, there is a gift shop, there is a cafe/tea room for snacks , there is designated parking, etc....SOUNDS LIKE a museum to me!
It's amazing in the DA Christmas special how they were able to get miniature lights, that had NOT been invented yet, for the Christmas tree. 😂
The head butler makes the same mistake as too many British people do: closing 2 buttons of a jacket. One closes ALWAYS only one of the buttons of a jacket: that's how jackets are styles and cut - for closing ONE button only.
I liked the tree shape but Egyptian theme no….it has to be traditional for me disappointed
Sorry, but these trees (and the rest of the decorations) are really not that pretty. Apart from the height of the big one I am not impressed.
