Looks like the shop is having some problems. Non-responsive and/or bugs ("g(...) is not a function"). Give us a post when it comes back up?
@@Datamining101UPDATE 04/05 12:00PST: Okay-- **Appears** to all be functioning properly. Please advise if you're having any issues. Can't do much about the checkout loading at the moment, unfortunately.
04042024- damnit. Will do. Working on it. Webdev is thankfully not my day job because apparently I’m really bad at it.
@@SawyerDesignFwiw, looks like it's some sort of PayPal integration issue. Checkout with Apple Pay seems okay (takes a long time to present the checkout screen though, just have to be patient).
Great video. Really loved watching and seeing the veneer bending. And I had to laugh because literally just before you said let's ignore it, I was thinking, well what about ferns and mosses, they have sperm and eggs!
Freaking awesome. I came to watch fine wood working and got a class on phytology. Double win.
I immediately subscribed when you said "Eve's massive prehistoric bush" That's some quality woodworking content 😂
I love your sense of aesthetic and the commentary is hilarious. Can’t wait for the next one!
That’s one of the funniest video voiceovers I’ve ever heard! Brilliant! ….. nice stool by the way.
My gosh that was hard to focus on while I work. Ended up pauaing til break time. Thanks for the laugh. Ill have to keep playing in the shed, wifey wont let me buy such gorgeous things. Best of luck with the seeding.
That's the most unique doggystyle snack bench I've ever seen!
Bahaha love it
I came for the woodworking but stayed for the lesson on plants that f**k. Well done sir.
Stunning piece, Nick! Really well done!!! 😃
But yeah, life's complicated!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks so much!
So glad to see a new video, always enjoyable. Keep up the great content. I really want to try a vacuum bag one of these days.
Great art!
Great story!

Thank you for being vulnerable!
I like that the bending form is something I’d love to make as a wall shelf. It is attractive on its own. Fun narration for this one. The tool wall looks like it has evolved a bunch.
There is something satisfying about a nice form. Thanks! Glad you liked the nerdtalk
I don't know if it's just been a while since I watched one of your videos, but it feels like you really embraced your sense of humor and wood wonkiness for this one, and it's made this one of my favorite videos that I've seen recently.
Haha I’ve been bottled up with this madness for too long! I’m too much of a people pleaser to be good at this whole ‘hot takes’ thing, but I’m glad most of you guys are here for it and digging color. Appreciate it man! 🤙
It's interesting that you posted this. I, too, have not seen a vid for a year or longer and got the same impression. I think Nick has a unique style and watching this made me realise I had missed the dry humour and excellent production values/qualities.
F* me! Its hard to keep up with every word you say! I have to go back and listen again...xD Brilliant! The piece is gorgeous! All the best!
Been listening to too much Rory Sutherland lately. Glad it caught your attention and interest enough to stick through. Was guessing there was a good chance it’d be too much Nick lol thanks for taking the time!
Bro..... finally been a little worried about you not gonna lie. You are the stretch goal for a beginner woodworker and I love your videos. Please keep them coming
Majestic work! I love wood bending in my workshop as well. Got great tips from this video - thanks a million! Loved the humor and “mature” presentation 👌🏻
Warm regards from sunny South Africa 🇿🇦
Looks like a lap desk to me. Definitely an interesting piece
I've been a fan for a few years so I know what your family has been through but man the dark humor, bible stuff, and use of f type naughty words makes you my favorite yt woodworker. Keep it up brother!
You had me at sclerenchyma. 😂
Haha I’m glad someone appreciates my specificity.
@@SawyerDesign I had lots of biology and botany in college.
Good luck with reproducing. You’re too amusing to not use your powers to embarrass the shit out of you own children. Your build for Saber was one of your best.
Isn't it just the best word, so crunchily crisp? Right up there with dicotyledon
Hurray new content! Love your work!
thanks for your Always impressive work. Love how you Pushed this Sample
easily some of the best commentary ever
Beautiful. Love the design. Got a glimpse of the Mullet towards the end there. Some of the best money I’ve spent
Agreed! Such a great thing to have around the shop!
Great channel, love the humour and witty remarks.
Great video Nick glad to see a video from you again. Best of luck to you and your wife 🙏🏻🙏🏻 on starting a family.
Hey thanks Jim!
Well done, brilliant video, excellent writing
Interesting build. Good job
Awesome job Nick! All that detailed work just to put your feet up on it. LOL
Yes that definitely puts my (fill in as required) into perspective for a Thursday evening ! TTFN. Regards Chris
Awesome job Nick
Te quedo perfecto!! Excelente trabajo amigo. Te felicito 😉
A stool for milking for that recipe you shared perhaps?
Came for the woodwork, stayed for the simplified botany lesson. Keep it up, Nick.
I spent 23 minutes 20 seconds and 6 ads of my life listening to speak in over complicated language just to bend a piece of wood to stand on. Funny enough I’ll do it again with another PBR. Keep on making son!
It's gorgeous and I am going back to learning English from scratch...
This is the first woodworking video that put my second hand English skills to test
That would make that fancy breakfast in bed for mother's day all the more special!
Simple product, a stool, with a ton of overly complicated words lol loved the combo and humor. And congrats..?! On ur baby, if I caught that right.
Ehhh close enough lol glad you liked it!
Hey Oregon! I have a Marshall 100 watt Plexi Superlead and I LOVE the smell! Every time I hit the on switch and it warms up the nice roasting wood smell sounds sooooo good! It is like a drug ritual or something for an addict. I don't do drugs but definitely get the addicted feeling and rituals mentally making you get that feeling of oh yeah here comes something good! That is the feeling I get with my tube Marshall. It is the tubes and transformer making the heat but the wooden shell is making most of the smell. It is so neat and overlooked! Just figured you would appreciate since you are a wood guy.
Lovely, as always!
Happy for you and your wife not giving up.
Taller, it would be an Eames inspired table. Really nice build. Oh, and if you ever see Eve's bush and it is green, run: da dum de dum da da da, run.
Can't wait to get my shirt
Very nice, I like plants..
Great vid!
You are my favorite CZcamsr
Gosh, thanks! Don’t tell anyone, but you’re my favorite viewer
Say what!!😮😮
@@SawyerDesign I thought that I was your favourite viewer???
The plants that f@#$... LOL that was fantastic
lol that also happens to be my favorite part as well.
Nice!
10:45 priceless comedy. Thanks for that
Dude that was some of the best commentary I've ever heard, seriously.
I'm not a morning person but you've got my laughing my ass off over here... the "plants that fck" was fkn perfect 😂
Awesome job on the, ummmmmmm....... Project lol
Beautiful work
Listening to this gave me flashbacks to survey courses and guest lectures being held by theoretical physicists!😂😂 Great presentation brother, I hope all is well on your end!!
Hilarious! I appreciate your sense of humor and your woodworking skills.
What chisels are those? Love all your videos! Thank you
Thanks for taking the time to watch! They’re zen-wu. My buddy Luke makes them. Check em out zenwutoolworks.com/
oh my giddy aunt! this gave me a creative hardwood.
Pics or it didn’t happen.
Man - Your explanation of the "alternative" (not science) and it's sense making ability (really lack of) has earned not only my respect, but some of my money. That was awesome. Even better than my personally much maligned "self taught myself" segment that you self corrected (Thank you!).
Huh?
Well said!
@@SawyerDesign Hah!
The "alternative" is at least as scientific as the other. And it was believers in the "alternative" who founded modern science.
@@PJRayment The "alternative" is not science at all, but outside the realm of science. A key tenet of science is falsification (being able to prove something wrong). A key tenet of the alternative is faith (just believe don't doubt). The two just don't intertwine.
Hell yeah Brother 🤙
The bendy blend of bilateral conifer, covered in cellulose infused angiosperm slices.
AKA: A single step half-foot elevation device
Daaaaaaaamn. That was hot. 🔥
I agree, it is a solid contender for the sickest Tech Deck mini vert ramp parkour training device for an athletic pet ferret as well as a defecation station TV tray seat for your sex swing, which brings us to your “mallet” at 0:08 ...
Glad to see you again, Nick!
Man. Candidate for my favorite CZcams video of all time. Good luck with the laser eyed kid
Appreciate it man!
I am so very glad that you got such high quality footage of your arm. I was able to enjoy the video so much more as a result!
That finish you're preparing looks like a potion of rejuvenation from some kind of rog game.
Mike Farrington, Cam @ Blacktail, Wittworks and the Stuhl sample... my wheelhouse
Clamp.
If you need to glue together two pieces of wood who's widths happen to total to just over the space between the legs, you can apply glue between them and wedge them in the gap and call it a day
I am crying listening to the new plant family breakdown
Stool, The other meaning, sick! 😍
Are you saying that in order to bend the wood, you had to use a...stool softener?
...I'll show myself out.
Another Sawyer Design video 🎉
Great video! Did you say mallet? You are incredible!
Beautifull vid and explanations of all sorts of things. But the love of god if you spray in your workshop please cover most of the things! You'll regret not doing so and you'll never recover fully your precious tools and handtools. I use old bedsheets :)
loved the building result and the end result, the constant talking nonsense not so much that was like nails poking holes in my brain. You make the lamingnating looks so easy and smooth and i love the end result so fine looking piece, i think without the babblings i truly could have enjoyed the video, maybe it is just that i am starting to getting old and my ptsd is playing up. but sometimes it is nice to let the work speak for itself. because you are clearly very skilled on a level i only can dream of.
Babbling…
Hello pot…this is kettle calling…
Snowplow blade mounted to my daughter's Powerwheels 😂
toboggan unquestionably!
Alternate use for a mallet is a doorstop.
PS how do you find the Veritas honing guide compared to the eclipse style ones?
I’ve never looked back!
Thanks
You’re like a slightly evolved Bourbon Moth. Better vocabulary but no less obnoxious.
Slightly?! Kinda flattered, sorta insulted.
I wish I could get through a VO in one afternoon.
As a health care worker in the ICU, I've heard some STORIES. Once a rather large man who was married to a rather large woman for some reason chose to describe to me their "love board." Essentially a 2x4 stud used to sort of "lift up her belly" at certain amorous times. I present to you: the new improved bespoke love board!
Oh yeah, also, freaking sweet video as usual man! Don't sweat the haters! You the best.
@@donnysarvis I will never look at a 2x4 again without that imagery searing searing its way out from my memory. I have one story in response to that for you from Caitlin, but not something I can share on this public forum 😆
You're welcome!❤
If you were new to wood bending and had a decent bankroll, what would you recommend as far as a vacuum bag setup?
I use a vacupress and love it! The 300 that I use will clear a 4x8 bag. Bigger will do it quicker, but I’ve found a dust extractor does the bulk of the work effectively. If you’re bending, skip vinyl and go straight to poly. It’s a dream.
If you cut a hole in the middle you could use it as a “breakfast in bed tray”. A more sophisticated version of the ole hole in the popcorn bucket trick. 👌🏼
Doubles as a camp outhouse!
@@SawyerDesign Perfection
Nice stul (no idea how to to that metal-script-looking thing over the U). I'll freely admit I've outright called you a masochist right here in public, and thank you for not disappointing again! Seriously, that's an interesting approach, and yeah I do see why the design dictated the method! Signature Nick there. I've got zero mojo for a name suggestion other than something like, "Gravity well differential facilitator and resistor," or some nerdy shizz like that.
Keep up the great work, and good luck with the replication!
Poop stoop. LOL. As usual, hilarious.
I’m ashamed to say I made an entire document to list all the names I came up with. I liked that one for its staccato
I always look forward to your new releases, but dude, this one was the longest 8 hours of my life.
8 hours?! Dawg, youz in a time dilation. Ease up on those bong rips.
Seemed like 8 hours
@@mitchellwilen1084 Exactly my point. I think that was lost on Nick.
@@joemedeiros8433lol who’s lost? Let’s find em
I could sit on that stool for hours, watching The Wood Whisperer's videos.
Same girl, same.
@@SawyerDesign not room on that stool for both of us young man.
Turn it on its side, use it as free standing mini book shelf
Nice word salad! Fun video! :)
Haha at the end of the day, I’m not sure that words matter much. Glad you enjoyed!
I understood everything!!👍👍
Puppy tobogen 👍Best of luck with kid 2.0
chisels ooh la la
Zen-wu. Check em out. My buddy Luke makes em. zenwutoolworks.com/
Nick. Why ya gotta buy every tool I dream about and love? To make me jealous? ...The non-youtube non-Sawstop Harvey table saw, the Hammer jointer combo, the OG curved legged Roubau bench idea you robbed from my dreams, the non-Festool/Ryobi real Festool/Festool miter saw? Finally today you crushed whats left of my soul... The F-ing chizels!.. when you casually, nonchalantly whipped out my dream chizels I thought no one noticed but me!? The MF-ing chizels man! Do you have no feelings? Then you scrape the glue off the Upside-down Honey Badger hammock to christen them? I'm dying inside.
Seriously though, I love your vids, humor and all the risks you take to create the perfect piece. Even if it is with my tools... 250k subs end of 2024! You deserve it👍
Perfect pallet to send to Paul Jackman! (That's not criticism of your incredible work... it's my attempt at humor.)
Bamboo is a monocot - plenty of furniture experience
And that heart mean we will have a bamboo build coming up I presume ?
That's obviously a posh retro baby sled. Upside-down.
Yup, glad to see you using that comparative religion degree.
Hey Nick, great video and I totally get everything you’re saying but what?
Right, but which part and who?
Hey, I could use that as my DM screen, or 'No lookus aticus myus dodecahedron'
nice stool, could be a mallet
The paradox remains unsolved
Sick squatty potty! I think Cam @blacktailstudio would suggest some N3 Nano to finish off however ;)
He sent me some and I was actually planning to use it on this one with shellac, but decided a little more durability would be better
I'm sorry... did you say fresh human milk?
Old Sawyer family recipe. Just keeping ya on your toes.
Well it would be horrible if it was soured.
Well I would say it could be a catch basin for Eve’s prehistoric massive…but maybe it’s not big enough?
It might be (or not) a stool ... but clearly it's cool...
Thank you for all your time and effort. 1in7
Absolute masterpiece. Both the furniture and the voice over 😂
