I'm Ecuadorian and It's hard to see the situation of the country, but let's be a 100% real. Guayaquil situation is also due to the ignorance and misinformation of its citizens. I understand the situation of the people that live the day. If they don't go out to work, they don't eat or have money to support its families. On the other hand, many people (not all) didn’t care about the warnings, curfews, and lockdowns imposed by the government and went out to the streets when they didn't have to. Some people were playing volleyball, taking road trips etc... That is why Guayaquil has to many cases of Covid-19. I'm not defending the government because it clearly is its fault because of how they managed the situation, but it's also our responsibility to protect ourselves. Stay safe / Stay strong !Ecuador 🇪🇨

It's not just the citizens fault. We may have had problems to enforce curfews, but that is happening everywhere. May I need to remind you that our regional governors were the ones to not shut down massive public event like football matches and concerts ? The same ones who didn't impose strict handling on the issue of obligatory quarantined for everybody arriving to the country? Our leaders, or rather lack thereof have it lot of blame into this. Even our mayor had a poor management with the whole airplane situation. Also it hit us just before carnival, a season full of travels and family members visiting from abroad. Ours is the city with the largest population of migrants living abroad in Spain after the feriado bancario

Robd1 true, i’m also an ecuadorian born in new jersey with 99% of my family over there in ecuador all over the country. My family members send us videos of their neighbors burning bodies on the streets, because they have no choice with dead bodies laying in there house for days and even weeks due to this. My tia passed away a few days ago not due to the virus itself but she died from some sort of internal bleeding and hospitals wouldn’t take her in so she didn’t receive the medical attention she needed and was sent home due to lack of space in hospitals. So these are also factors we have to take in, not just the people who won’t stay home

Italian doctors have even mentioned. Ive heard the main thing they need are huge boosts of vitamin C and melatonin...then treats with the likes of the Cloro n Arith.
But if you dont have that as well?!? But it would be nice if the likes of WHO worked like the web. Actual doctors talking and finding solutions...rather than a corrupt bunch of talking heads trying to push their agenda and possible sales with something they too eerily predicted...to a T?

By Feb 17 everybody knew there was virus going around, she did too, and she jumped a flight anyway. Here's a tip: just because airlines are still taking money for flights doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. My sister-in-law kept going on recreational flights after knowing she could catch and spread disease too. Some people just find it more important to show off their ability to blow money on non-essential trips.
Cruise liners offered discounts "After" knowing Covid19 was spreading, and idiots went on cruises because it was a bargain. I doubt they bragged about catching the disease. People are stupid and stubborn and vain...and you can't trust them with your health when they won't even look out for their own.

The woman admitted to developing a fever during her flight back (with multiple people coughing may I add). Then she chose to visit multiple family members, killing 2 of them, and ultimately infecting 17 people. It isn't a matter of playing the "blame game." Unfortunately, because of her actions, along with the other passengers flying back to Ecuador during the pandemic, she has heavily contributed towards the startup of Ecuadors Covid 19 pandemic.

That same orange guy who called Covid-19 "the flu" said it would magically vanish, and retweeted that image of himself "fiddling" while the country suffered. And that same orange guy who now wants to open up the country again to get the economy going again since he knows a bad economy often leads to a failed presidential bid. So what if more people die? As long as he gets reelected, that's all the orange buffoon cares about. And it is now getting into late April, and Covid-19 is still here and still killing many Americans. As of today, it has killed over 45,000 Americans. Just today it killed over 2,800 Americans. In ONE DAY. On February 28th, Trump said we had it contained. Daniel Ortega's regimen has been denied any COVID-19 positive and encourages its citizens to promote gatherings at public places. I am an American citizen who got stuck in my beautiful city of Guayaquil during this epidemic and let me tell you, the fear that you hear in these people’s voices is nowhere near the scary reality that they’re trying to depict. The reason why the previous minister of health resigned was because she outed the government the day before for not rightfully equipping medical attendants and coming to their defense. In effect, she was forced to resign. People over here are paying from $10-$100 just to get information on their loved ones in the hospital and whether they’re dead or not. Tragically, if they’re dead, authorities have gone so far to say they’ll dig up any body to families that want to claim their loved ones. Truly sad.

Howard Buttlock this virus is not from Trump. It was flown all over the world from China. The people had it and Communist China Government knew it and didn’t tell anyone but the people who were exposed went on the New Year flights all over the world and spread it. The people didn’t know they were infected. Luckily the President knew something was happening in Wuhan China and shut all flights fro the country. That saved millions of Americans. Later we were told about the outbreak but was given wrong estimates. This was a bioengineered made virus that got out of their lab in Wuhan, China. We have learned more as we have gone through this. We do know the ventilators makes it worse but each dr uses their own methods. Use oxygen instead with the medicines. Praying for all of you!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

People went outside, to the beach, literally went everywhere even with the lockdown in place-posting everywhere. If it wasn’t for the literal one day a week permission to go out only for essentials with curfew, it would be apocalyptic. Nobody talked about how the most affluent of the people in Guayaquil had weddings, gatherings, and still went out. Ecuadorians did not infect each other, but Ecuadorian people who live outside the country brought it in and everyone else knowing this disobeyed.

Officially Ecuador claims 520 dead from covid19.
In many countries, the authorities are trying to minimize the toll, because they don't want to be blamed for their failure - as illustrated by Ecuadorian health minister in the video, who contends that the country was ready but that the people didn't respect the guidelines.
His job is also to make sure that the people will follow the guidelines - using lawful force if needs be.
In Dniepro, Ukraine, the mayor ordered his staff to dig hundreds of graves, even before the epidemic started. He filmed the result with a drone, and showed the gloomy video to his population: "This is for you if you don't respect the lockdown".
I think he did a good job. You need to scare people a little bit, otherwise they'll wait until it's too late to adapt their behavior.

@@StarrWolf64 I guess they didn't test the bodies, so the cause of the death has been left "unknown". But it's clear that a good number of these people died from covid19. The president of Ecuador himself declared a few days ago that the official figures - those they transmit to the WHO every day - are an understatement.

I live in Guayaquil it was horrible what we went through 2 weeks ago, every day we hadnews that relatives or friends had died all the government numbers 911, 171 were collapsed nobody answers the emergency phone calls, dead bodied cannot be found in hospitals, relatives have to go through the morge and the containers to found their family after 3, 5, 7 days without an explanation because until this day the dead bodies are gone fathers, sisters, mums go were creamed and not given to their relatives, the hospitals wouldn't accept more people there was no enough beds for everybody and pharmacys didn't have any meds for any decease not even coronavirus meds, labs couldn't test all the suspects of coronavirus and the Government keept lying and telling us that everything was under cotrol, more than 13.000.00 persons died in april, and that are the consequences of corruption, and the culture of the people that is doing what they want.
