After watching his games at Chelsea at that time, I thought he wasn't bad at all. This was just a bad match. It happens.

The pressure of mourinho. Mourinho has done great things without question but his people skills and ability to turn top players confidence into shit is disgusting and childish! And he wasn’t that confident then, unlike now. Confidence comes with experience, high fitness levels and scoring goals
@@philipsofokansi6030 Fake af. Confidence comes from a manager that motivitaves the player, with a system that exploits the best traits of such players and many more stuff. Do Central back get confidence by scoring goals? De Bruyne is a playmaker he doesn't need goals to be confident. High fitness is also bs, ofc being on good shape makes you be more intense but you don't need that factor as a whole to reach the world class, maybe as a Collective on a high pressuring system. Experience?, I think this explains argument is kind of bs, it works on certain type of occassions experience won't help you to make key passes, dribble and open spaces to your teammates.
what are you smoking look at 1:10 was that under pressure u donut
He lacked experience and confidence, you can see it in his movement, he's never sure he's doing the right thing and second guesses himself. He needed a manager that fully believes in him and play to his strengths, it was the right move for KDB to move on from Chelsea.

@@noorkeyahmd6063 yes
I remember this game. Mourinho started a bunch of players that either hadn't had an experience that season or gotten minimal game time so obviously there would be lack of chemistry. Unlike Salah we barely gave kdb any chance. But good on him being world-class now because he probably won't have developed at Chelsea with little playing time
Yeah Salah was a completely different case.
Like Salah was basically given as much of a chance as Juan Cuadrado and Cuadrado from what I can tell is to this day is mainly viewed as a guy that's playstyle just doesn't work in England and if Klopp didn't buy Salah I think that Salah would still be viewed the same way as Cuadrado is.
I would like to add further depth into the narrative why De Bruyne left.
A certain snake from his Belgium national team and team mate at Chelsea, which Chelsea to take no part in the conflict and stuck to the goal keeper which would eventually betrayed the very club that tried to work hard to keep him at Stamford Bridge, but there was some inconsistency with “snake’s” story.
De Bruyne’s best friend at the time, “the snake”, slept with his best friend’s girlfriend.
Now ladies and gentleman, who tf can stand to be within the same vicinity of someone who were suppose to be their best friend, grew up and played at Chelsea FC, slept with your girlfriend? I couldn’t. I would want to hurt the person and if I can’t do that, well then, I’ll leave the toxic environment.
Every Chelsea fan knows this story quite well. Chelsea’s hand was tied, as they saw the potential of a goalkeeper, that could be with them for a decade like Petr Cech, while in midfield, brilliant comes abundance compared to goalkeeper. Nevertheless, Chelsea FC got f by “the snake”.
I know it sounds like I’m a bitter Chelsea Fan, but in truth, I rather the world knows about the vicious backstabbing of a someone who has the label of best friend, which is the closest thing to a non biological brother in my perspective, to go on and do one of the most uncivilized move in the 20th century. You could even label him as classless. Nevertheless, let the truth set you free.
@@HelioPopTart
You have a valid point
chemistry is not only the issue, there were so many technical errors from him. When defending, his positioning and decision making was almost like maguire. But I agree that he wouldnt have developed if he stayed at chelsea, the squad is too competitive for him and other youngsters. Chelsea brought in stars every season hence very little chance given to young prospects. Bundesliga teams are more suitable for young players to develop because the siht teams are competing well with each other and they have occasional chance to play with a big team; bayern

It's no one's fault. Not the players' and neither the coach's. The likes of De Bruyne, Salah, Lukaku came in the wrong time. Chelsea had a very strong senior first eleven when they came in. You have to perform exceptionally, i mean very exceptionally well to break into the first eleven. They were still at developmental stage. They need their minutes on the pitch to develop and that wasn't easy to come if like i said they don't perform exceptionally. One thing we don't understand is that he might be as poor as Barkley if he was still in Chelsea. He's thriving cos he's in the right club, just like no one predicted the downfall of Hazard in Madrid.

I remember watching him play for Chelsea and I too thought he looked rubbish. But you would think that Mourinho and the coaching staff knew he was actually quality in training. And not long after they let Salah go for peanuts too. Imagine those two in Chelsea’s team these last 6 years b
I will say one thing, for a player who had a bad game it certainly wasn’t a quiet game for him as he was quite heavily involved with a lot of possession, even in this bad game he was great at finding himself some space to move around and run at people, can you imagine what this performance would have looked like if he had better decisions in only HALF the times he had possession, the signs of the great player today were there to be seen in that match and we lost an absolute gem

As a semi professional player myself I fully know what it means to play well, to fulfill one’s potential when you have no stress, a supportive family and club and good teammates. If all those fail, you can feel miserable and be totally lost.
High good morale is the most important. If you are feeling off then the ball doesnt listen. Your legs dont work. Mental blocks
And that's why one should never base their morale on outer circumstances,... happiness/confidence/fulfillment must come from one's heart, then outer circumstances like stress, family, club, teammates, fans do not affect one's performance. As Buddha said _'praise doesn't flatter me, blame doesn't hurts me'_ \o/

The system at the time was chase the ball all the time and sit back to counter attack opponents. That's a huge reason why he didn't succeed at Chelsea. One could tell how he was passing and was positioning and staying on the ball for some seconds, playing lofted passes, dribbling into spaces to deliver through passes and you could see that KDB was made for total or possessive and progressive football and Chelsea wasn't playing that.
U can't judge him with this match, actually too many thing to consider before sell a player, u can't promise he will be he today if he stay with Chelsea, same goes to Salah, Lukaku, tactical is most important, neither can absorb or not by the player
it proves that anyone can be vulnerable and everyone needs a supportive environment.
I came to see this video after reading Roberto Mancini’s statement regarding Charles Deketlaere. Mancini was saying we should give the talented Belgian some time to adjust to the pressure and the new culture at AC Milan, because even De Bruyne in his first year at Chelsea was not that memorable.
The revenge was seen in the recent match of Chelsea vs Man city 😄🤷
and now he is the best midfielder in the EPL
poor Kevin, he looked nervous
I would say that nothing has changed too much, except that he has become stronger and faster to move away from opponents and give that pass under less pressure. And even now he has some clumsy matches.
Can we just say that every player has their own style of playing and every tactical system needs players with a playing style that fits into the system itself. Unfortunetly Mou's system doesn't suitable with De Bruyne's playing style.
Thats cos Mourinho only likes work horses who are happy to be graft defensively more than attack.
@@rockwild737 ozil ?
Now he is the best midfielder in whole world! Go ahead Kevin!!
Nah hes class tho no doubt about that, but toni kroos is the best in the world lad
@@ryanshaw6191 toni kroos🤣🤣🤣, even ilkay Gundogan is better by miles
@@ryanshaw6191 my man said Kroos💀 Literally the worst Madrid player rn
How hard he trained to be like he is today omg well done to this man!!!
It’s just so crazy seeing him okay like that knowing how good he is
Clearly why Pep is far superior. He saw the potential and worked with De Bruyne to get to where he is now. Mourinho wants finished and peak product. Pep is the opposite, Bernardo silva, De Bruyne, stones, ake, Jesus, Ederson, Ruben, Akanji. Be serious, who would’ve thought Akanji would play a pivotal role in Man City’s treble winning season two years ago.
The guy was so young and so inexperienced at such a high level. He was treated very harshly and Chelsea paid the price for selling such a talent!
It appears harsh but he was treated like many others given the immediate success requirements of Abramovich [who, let us not forget, was corrupt kleptocratic oligarch - I say that as a CFC fan of over 50 years]. Mourinho was telling Joe Cole before the recent Europa Conference Final of the pressures put on him to win things a.s.a.p. at CFC. Mourinho brought in Fabregas who combined brilliantly with Diego Costa to win the Premier League and League Cup the next season with Hazard shining in midfield. De Bruyne has not proven himself in the higher stage of the Champions League and N'Golo Kante outshone him in the CL Final last year.
De Bruyne himself admits that such failure drove him on to prove himself at Wolfsburg [just as Lukaku and Tammy Abraham proved themselves elsewhere]. As someone else has stated on these comments, even at his best, his style of play may well have been unsuited to the Chelsea style - CFC had wanted to buy Gerrard in 2005 but look what happened when Lampard and Gerrard played together for England.
I forgot to mention that De Bruyne says that his ex-girlfriend cheating on him with fellow Belgium star Thibaut Courtois [on-loan at Athletico from CFC] unsettled him at this time and then on-loan Thibaut was brought into the First Team at CFC the next season.
And now he won the treble with man city and became one of the exclusive players who made 100 assists in the premier league. Crazy
You can kinda see everything was there but slightly misaligned, his move to Wolfsburg,
in the German football mentality, from what I can tell, the way they think tactically and about fitness, how to hold his ground and a direct way of thinking supplemented his games.
And with the time he spent with pep refined the rough edges of his technique. And helped organized his creative thoughts that he had alot of. In a culture built around technical skill being practiced everyday.
And now he is the engine of one of the best teams in the world... it's crazy
Honestly l remember this match and other matches De Bryne wasnt good. Given the competition at that time, the dude had no rhythm. Mourinho was justified to sell him and thats when he woke up and improved in Germany.
Yes looking at this performance Mourinho was justified.
0:23 remind me of Slippin Gerard moment that made Demba Ba winning the PL for chelsea 😂
Lesson for us, if you fault in the past not makes your future dark.keep fighting for our best version.
In the past there were Xavi and Iniesta. But KDB is even on a whole other level.
you ve been smoking weed
@@iqbellkroos6788 yeah, actually I did in “high” school. Good stuff. That’s about 20 years ago though. But on a more serious note, Xavi and Iniesta have been the best midfielders with their tiki taka play. But KDB is even better now. Period.

And he scored 4 goals today and a hatrick in just 24mins 🔥🤡
A weak footed hat trick at that
It's football everyone has to improve on their self to become better and To do better than yesterday 😕
only for him to become the greatest midfielder in the history of the premier league 🐐, above players like Gerrard, Lampard, Scholes etc.
You are crazy schurle and oscar better than him dont compare him to legends
