- Watch as I replace the carburetor on this 2 stroke Poulan wild thing 40cc 18'' chainsaw. I think the Craftsman might be made by the same company. This one sat too long, and the old carb had a bit too much corrosion on the aluminum internals for me to think it could be revived. A little searching revealed low-cost aftermarket alternatives that are probably as good as what this saw would have come with from factory OEM.
Tuning was a little tricky but at the end we have a good running saw.

Thank you for this video. I bought the same kit and came across the same problem with the bar pinching, took me a minute to figure out this is what was causing all the fuss. It is great that you show these things and you are exactly right, others will come across the same problem.

I've had that problem with the little bar was hitting too. I took the bar completely off.
which carb did you order , my amazon is showing quite a few , yours seems to fit perfect where many has said the linkage didn't work
What was this issue at the end where you said "my mistake"?
