Radagons A.I is either super chill or super aggressive at times

My favourite thing about Radagon’s fight, aside from his move set, is the music. It’s literally “that moment when the opening plays” and the way it’s timed with the cutscene is *so good*.
Funny enough, I think Radagon is supposed to have a sort of Parry animation that he's suppose to use where you throw too many spells or spam r1 too much. It just staggers you and he just closes in with his grab attack.
But it's so goddamn rare that it almost goes unused. Though it might be because he can parry with godlike precision. Man's can parry all of Pest Threads if he can.
He holds up his hammer and it deflects all attacks, it's most common if you attack him as soon as you load in with magic or long ranged attacks.
"Rare" my asshole, it's impossible to beat for me as a dragon mage

That 3 hit combo is just rage filling.. haha.
Actually it's super easy, the rain and Elden stars attack cancel out as you just run whilst slightly turning, and you barely slow down whilst dodging the sword beams
Crimsonwhorl tear feels necessary for this fight for those specific moments lol

I love how he keeps missing that jump attack, but by gods he keeps trying.

The frenzied flames ending is by far one of the most terrifying endings imo

i remember when i first fought radagon, he got folded pretty fast and didn’t even use any holy magic, just kind of whacked me with his hammer once or twice and died quickly. i was thinking, “okay, this is one of those bosses with an easy first phase and difficult second, no way this is actually the final boss.” got to second phase, didn’t expect the flames, died relatively quickly. now, i re-enter the boss arena, and he starts throwing ALL of his moves at me. the little stars, then a bolt of magic, teleports to me, smacks his hammer down with the force of a thousand suns, etc. i nearly thought he was a boss that would get harder the more you fight him because of the drastic change between each attempt, then i realised i just got super lucky the first time around.

Atleast it wasn't like fkin Laurence The First Vicar. That aoe shit happens 0.1 secs after your Iframes disappear.
You'd think that after so much time playing the game, Connor would have figured out that jump attacks are not the be all, end all of combat and oftentimes put you in a worse position, especially if you miss.

I don't remember that attack when I faced Radagon, either. The thing I remember most was his insane hang time as he dangles in the air waiting to roll catch you.
Watching streamers jump-attack cheese their way through Elden Ring, then rage at every difficult boss brings me such joy.
Tbf the jump attacks are insane, plus the talisman that increase the attacks potency. They should have nerfed it or should think of a solution

I think this is my favourite fight in the game overall. Lore, narrative significance, gameplay, and that music, all coming together in one. Truly the Elden Ring of boss fights

I had the same problem with Rykard. Kept being an issue with him. But never had the problem with other bosses.

Radagon is actually a lot easier as a shield user. I was two handing at first and getting clapped, but I pulled out my shield and beat him first time.
so did conner ever found out that the greatsword has a attack after you roll? its one of the best things the weapon has for bosses
Did he even upgrade the great sword? He’s doing so little damage.
I think it is maxed. Radagon has some resistance to physical damage except strike damage (he is made of stone). Most effective damage type against him is fire damage and especially godskin incantations

@@tibik.8407 I was doing way more damage than him with Katanas on normal attack (before bleed even sets in), and he’s using a great sword bigger than his body and doing pathetic damage using jump attacks. Yes it is small damage.
@@sorterwoodsteel i really doubt you did more damage per hit since he is using 80 strength and a heavy +25 greatsword. Katanas are naturally much faster so you can get more hits in easier. The advantage of using a colossal weapon is for the stagger. Also radagon is immune to bleed.
@@karimhegazy3866 look at asmongold, who also was a strength build, doing 1335 damage per jump attack versus cdawg’s 699 damage. That’s almost double dude.
Moral of this story: just because jump attacks give you results, it does not make solely using them a viable strategy.

Through one of my replays radagon and the elden beast glitched out for me and they both went tpose they where still attacking and all that but I was so confused
wonder if that stagger thing is an inside joke, or he really doesn't know what a stagger is
He doesn't know what stagger is, what he's doing to the boss is stance breaking. Stagger is when a enemies poise level is low enough you can hit them with a heavy weapon to cancel some attacks and animations causing them to stagger back for a second or two.
He would've had an easier time if he wasn't jump attacking all the time. Why does every streamer do this?

I’m really hoping we find out that Melina is the Dusk-eyed queen the ruler of the lands between before she was defeated by Maliketh that we learn about in the Godslayer great sword item description and in the DLC Melina is the final boss and transforms into her true form.
Or we get an option like with Ranni where she starts a new age with us as her consort because I would much rather have her get a better ending than becoming kindling or leaving and never reappearing.

@@revengance4149 Because dialogue with melina states that her mother is within the erdtree and only two entities exist in the erdtree. Radagon/Marika and the Elden Beast... and to go out of game, her file name is literally marikasdaughter or daughterofmarika. (Forget which of the two, but it is 100% confirmed she is a daughter of marika.)

fighting Radagon for the first time is like i went through a gauntlet idc about his move set im just gonna steam roll but then that screws you over when u realize there is an entirely new boss for the second phase

No death rite bird is the worst even playing as a mage I was forced to melee that because he just wouldn’t stagger no matter what the fuck I do without gravity magic and spams so hard and makes the camera shit and all together that is the worst boss to me then elden beast.

That's honestly the problem with big dump swords. Sure they hit hard but they're not reliable.

You’re right in general, although here Connor was ONLY using jumping attacks. There are other good attacks that can do damage with a colossal sword that are easier to land.

So Merika went against the golden order, elden beast came and killed her, then we come and the greater will uses merika/Radagon to fight us, then when they die the elden beast comes out as a last resort defence mechanism - as it did against merika - sees radagon dead so it attacks the one who killed him (us) and turns radagon/Merika into a sword (notice the human like prayer pose of the statues in game, on the hilt of the sword, and the rib/spine like area Of the sword twirling from two into one, like how radagon and merika became one from two)
The only thing I don’t understand is if radagon/merika are the same, why did merika destroy the elden ring and then radagon tried to fix it, if they’re the same being?
Everything else makes sense, but I can’t figure out that last bit

I didn't even know that Radagon had a grab attack and I have beaten him on 4 different characters and been summoned in for him dozens of times... My man out here dying to it multiple times haha

The Beast moving to the other side of the whole arena is easily the worst part of that fight. The movesets are easily readable once you learn them, but having to RUN. ALL. THAT. WAY. Is so infuriating.

dude that elden beast was doing zero dmg wtf. i had 40 vigor and its grab attack was 1shotting me yet this guy wasnt feeling anything
It’s because 40 vigor is nothing in this game. You’ve gotta go all the way or not at all.

Okay I didn't realize how OP my build was until watching other people play I took out all the end game bosses in one go,
what was your build?
@@p0lo214 mostly dex/arc with a lot of end/vit a bit of everything else. I focused on an archer build with duel blood katana as my second and I used a mimic to tank for me with the blood great rune. Actually I dropped arc. Down when I switched to the archer build so I think it was more dex/end, I used the defense charms and blood hound step ash of war. And 8 was about lvl 150

@@seniorcaw6374 maybe, but I wasnt an arc build mostly just dex. So the bleed shouldn't have been that high. I was mostly focused on archery and switched to melee when I was low on arows.
@@drom5970 The real OP part was using the Mimic to draw aggro while you attack from range. It avoids nearly all the mechanics that make bosses hard, surviving melee range and aggro of attacks. It really doesn't matter if you went dex, faith or int if you are attacking from range with a 'tank' to to draw the attacks for you it vastly simplifies the encounters.
I've heard many people say that the Elden Beast is way harder than Radagon but I have to hardly disagree. Elden beat is annoying as f*ck but when I have more than like 2 potions left I can beat it. Radagon on the other hand is one of the hardest bosses in the game imo. I first beat him with a bleed build against which he's immune and today again with a full tree sentinel strength built which is way weaker and its ng+ so the bosses are harder. Radagon is like 70% of the difficulty but I like him. He's like mixture of Malenia and Morgott with his damn knifes, although Morgott's knife are really easy to dodge compared to Radagon's. Elden beast just looks cool
Elden beast is just annoying tbh. Radagon is a much more complex fight. And a more fun fight

Any time you have to watch an ultra greatsword user struggle against a boss, it really is the most tedious gameplay imaginable. Their damage is just too low for a slow weapon and they suck ass at using it even though they've had it for most of the game. Great video though.

Honestly, why do people make the game so much harder for themselves? Not one fucking buff, no use of ashes, no spirit summons, just jumping in front of the boss and jump attacking. Sure, it might end up working, but it makes you look like an idiot and all bosses much harder than they actually are. Dying 20 times to Radagon is just ridiculous.
