For those that like understated quality, this car is quite nice. However, i saw on Edmonds’s that it has some unhappy customers complaining about all sorts of electrical issues. I’ll wait to see if Volvo can work the gremlins out of the system. And if the dealers are charging above MSRP (like Mustang Mach e dealers), then I’ll look at Tesla or something else.

Ben compare this with the Mach e I’m in war with these cars

Recently test drove an XC40. I really didn't like how intrusive were the security nannies. It felt like I wasn't driving the car myself. It's a pass for me.
But is it practical? Comfortable? Heck yeah. If you don't like driving very much and just need a good family hauler, that's a nice pick.

What security nannies are you referring to specifically?

@@drewyoung2102 Tough question, my answer would probably change daily. The E32 7 Series from BMW, with the straight 6, is always up there in my top 3, however. I own an 88 and this car still eats miles like it doesn't care. I'm about to reach half a million kilometers with that thing and it still goes and goes and goes. Handling is impeccable, suspensions are superb, the engine seems to be immortal and comfort is still better than most mid-class sedans that are sold today. I wouldn't trade it for anything, i'll drive it until it dies...which doesn't seem to be tomorrow morning, far from that.
Second car in my driveway is a 2021 Wrangler Willys. Absolutely love the Wrangler, espacially with the 6MT. And from my initial post, you probably already figured I didn't check a lot of nanny options. ;)

@@dinh5532 The lane assist is probably the one that got on my nerves the most. I know you can take it off in the settings, but it's pretty far in the menu and it always comes back each time you restart the car. The two clicks gear selector is also really annoying to me. Finally, during my test drive, the car did an emergency braking manoeuver while there was absolutely nothing in front of me, behind me or even in my blindspot. It was somehow more dangerous than helpful, especially since the emergency braking was...on a patch of ice. Not cool.
That being said, I would've appreciate a shortcut button to activate or deactivate security goodies, just like VW did with the MK7 models. That was pretty nice, effective and simple. Going through the menu to uncheck everything was just...bleh, for me.
I think it's a shame the XC40 is so intrusive because it's just the right size, it's pretty comfortable and the fuel economy is quite good for what it is. But I simply couldn't stand how the car was driving me and not the other way around.

UPDATE: I had a second test drive and took the time to deactivate the lane keep assist. Okay, I admit: this car is awesome.

Hell no not worth $60k. $60k is a tough sell for a compact crossover like the xc60 or bmw x3, even tougher sell for a SUB-compact. $45k max for something like this, regardless of how luxurious or techy it is…

Are you being serious?! There is a ton of data (from Tesla) that shows that electric cars are way safer in an accident than gas powered vehicles. Gas cars literally have a steel box exploding a flammable liquid inside and no one bats an eye at that. Gas cars also have thousands of fires every single year. Tesla for instance has only had a handful of fires out of the 1 million+ vehicles they’ve delivered so far. A simple google search would have addressed your issue if it is a genuine concern of yours. 🤦‍♂️
