When a dealership tells you that the car is cancelled, then accept it and go to a different dealer. They'll soon chase you with what you ordered. Basic retail sense.
Exactly right. They need to make a sale. Any sale... they hate a potential buyer going somewhere else.

Yeah but they’re overstocked with EVs which they need to shift
@@twig3288 Whose fault is that, the customer? The market says NO to EVs.
If dealerships bought into the bigLie that is all on them.

Most of it is a pack of lies. The rest of it is the sort of silly prices people who go to Porsche expect to pay anyway.
Most what he says is lies lol. The first 30 seconds proved that.

They don’t think about the trail of gas their car has left behind over the 20 years they have had it and if they don’t believe this bit try shutting the garage door with the engine turned on for a while.
EVs aren't cars, they are just an appliance, and a disposable one at that.
Big brother is with you. Won't be long before owners will start receiving speeding tickets, parking and bus lane fines etc...
I drive a 30 year old diesel, And it does 600 miles on a tank of fuel an absolutely amazing car unlike an electronic piece of shit that costs a fortune. I think people who buy EVs are absolute idiots.
I suspect its a Honda - just like mine.
I would walk away from any dealer pushing EV's, and blocking my gas only or Hybrid purchase.
They could free-issue a Tesla to everybody in the UK and throw in a free home heat pump and it won’t make a jot of difference to the climate.
I disagree David, most strongly. If everyone had a Tesla, all the fires would heat up the climate considerably. And they'd completely destroy the environment. Best if we all stick with petrol and diesel. Preferably with a high Co2 output to help keep all the trees alive and healthy.
- if they did it for everyone in the world it would probably raise sealevel by 3 metres and cause the extinction of humpback whales - or somesuch terrible catastrophe (due to the massive increase in industrial capacity the world would need to see - totally unsustainable) - and this future is of course impossible. (Just as seeing a real global climate catastrophe is improbable).

If you buy a Porsche of any type you need to be able to afford to get it repaired.
Porsche dealers love their customers because they are an endless stream of revenue. The Taycan in particular is a guaranteed money pit for them.
If you can't afford a Porsche buy Chinese or Korean. Far less expensive and best of all, far more reliable, perform very well and rarely require repairs.
I've had very good luck with $500 honda accords & camerys, but for the last 11yrs been driving a $300 crown vic i got at auction. So far i spent maybe $600 over the yrs for parts to keep er going. Less than $100 per yr.
There is too much electronics in cars. That is why there is a lot more issues on modern cars.

Your great loss. Glad to hear that you'll leave the chargers for us 😂.
(If you are already fairly old) then you can probably safely maintain an old ICE car after 2030 anyway - until you feel too old or frail to drive any longer. It’s more likely to be our grandchildren that will “only know” EVs when it’s their turn to do the driving…
Why didn’t you choose a diesel? (Super-economical etc..)
Dealers will be fined if they don't sell their quota of electric cars. I personally will not buy an electric car as I like to get where I am going without stopping for an hr to charge, and i dont like coffee.

I’m getting as bad as Morag!! The reason dealers are desperate to sell EVs is they have to meet government imposed targets or pay fines.
Easy! Tell the government to stick it! The public want what they want not what a government decides is your future.
Dead right. Unfortunately the dictatorship of this country doesn’t seem to understand or care - as long as they can show off to their bosses in the World Economic Forum (where they expect to get nice sinecures when their careers tank (as they will because they are deeply stupid), they don’t care.

Drivers are finding there are plenty of reasons for stalling on electric cars, from broken chargers and rising insurance costs to battery degradation and reduced range in cold weather

I wondered about this statistic so looked it up. The report was from Lloyds Bank. In their own press release they say that 30% of mortgage applicants don't have a garage or car parking space and then in their own foot notes they state that the "research" was conducted by BVA BDRC in September 2022 with 1,000 UK adults. So they have based their headline figure on the 1000 people they asked and then extrapolated that out to the whole country, rather than going by their own mortgage data. Sold figures there 😉

The UK simply does hot have the Giga watt production to support any volume of EVs. Realistically they would need to add ten or 15 nuclear power stations to the grid to make any impact on the projected charging demand.
The other problem is the grid itself isn't up to taking and transmitting the amount of electricity required for mass charging of EV's.
Now now chaps. Let’s not let facts and reality get in the way of government oppression. The whole EV agenda is a “work sets you free “snow job.
if electrics were that good people would line up to buy them without need for government push.
You're not wrong about the government... I worked for Jaguar Land Rovers E. V. O... We looked after fleet 99 (government /royal) cars. Not a single one is electric or hybrid... There protection cars aren't electric either so that speaks volumes

He's done 85% of all the losing he will do on it. From here on its just noise.
He won't do that, it keeps the money rolling in from all the clickbait for ev haters seeking their fix of ev ownership nightmares p0rn (I'm also anti-ev too btw) The cars probably paid for itself on that alone.
Can't see him maintaining the views driving around in a trouble free petrol car eating fish 'n chips with nothing to moan about.
Also those kind of losses has really always been the norm on expensive cars, that's why they are for rich people.
It wasn't long ago you could pick up 10 year old £80k+ fully spec'd cars like Merc S class, Jags, Bentleys for about £5k. even 10 year old 911's were only around £10k.
The reason is they are all money pits for fools.
It's a new phenomena, people expecting luxury second hand, non-classic items to retain value.
The depreciation was part of the flex of buying them "I'm so rich I don't care that it costs more than your house to buy or that it will be worthless when I'm bored of it" kind of thing.
The car is leased. Also, he loves it. Go figure.
As I have said before EVs are built wrong for most people. If you can charge at home and dont drive too much its perfect. If you have to drive more than 100 miles a day then you need a gas or diesel car. Also where I live insurance for an EV is super expensive and hard to get. If the governments really wanted you to have an EV then they could give everyone one as a trade for their gas car instead of giving money away to other countries. PUT THEIR MONEY WHERE THEIR MOUTH IS. I would still keep a gas car for long trips. I also said EV are built wrong, they are not making them for the average person, they are making them for the upper class, as you can see by the price and extras they add.
They are perfect for content creators who want to create divisive content for views. The positive is he’s now telling the viewers the truth- but still claims the Taycan is the world’s best EV. It’s like he’s out of the cult physically but still mentally there
There’s a lot of electric Taycans because Porsche can’t get rid of them, they depreciate in value massively. However, they’re probably the best looking EV’s out there.
Green energy equals slow dark cold and broke
If a dealer had kept me waiting for an ICE car, then said they couldn't supply, I'd demand my deposit back and then walk away. Would you go to Currys for a freezer and come away with a TV, No ! The only way to stop this EV sales madness is to only pay on delivery of what you ordered.
Small problem with that.
The vast majority of people on this channel have never and will never buy a new car!
The "protest" won't get very far I'm afraid! 😞
Engine noises on an EV are the equivalent of vegan Bacon on a full English, fills a hole but misses the point.
Take it from an American electrical engineer with nearly 50 years of experience in many industries and a lot of knowledge in many areas of science and engineering so this is an informed opinion. Electric cars are a very bad idea for many reasons. They are not green, they are very dangerous, they're inconvenient, and after a minor accident the car might be a total loss. I wouldn't feel safe even sitting in one.
On the personal side I don't like small cars in general. I was in a terrible accident 34 years ago and if I'd been in a small car I'd have been killed. I'm not what you 'd call a frugal person. When I design projects energy efficiency is at the bottom of my list of priorities. If everyone had an electric car, when they all plugged them in at night to charge the batteries the entire nation would be in a blackout. Britain, America, China it doesn't matter. The grid doesn't have the capacity to support the additional load.
For someone with such alleged expertise you seem very badly informed.

@@moragkerr9577 many people do drive 10 year old and older vehicles quite happily. But they do t have the worry of 1. The Gov makes Billions from normal vehicles full stop. If we moved all over to EVs then Gov loses Billions in tax revenue. They are forced to press the EVs after signing up to zero emissions policy. Maybe all the countries will get together and realise they made a massive mistake and drop the policy.
They will tax your electricity usage on cars and have a huge registration fee to make up the loss of fuel excise. They may even have EV owners pay a monthly fee.
they have other ways to rob us.
I seem to recall the big advantage of EV's is supposed to be the minimal servicing costs. Yeah, right.
Unless you buy an extortionately-priced rocket sled from Porsche, they are. (Lee, that is an example of the correct use of the word "Extortionate".)
60 quid for a Mini Cooper Electric over 24,000 miles.

I was working down on Hayling Island in Hampshire on Sunday afternoon. I drove down in my old 2006 Mondeo 2.2 TDI ST Est, two of us in the car and the rear was full of musical equipment. I covered 566 miles on £75 of diesel (full tank). Didn't have to stop to top up and on the way back for a number of miles I wasn't hanging around either. I assume, Lee, you, and many others with EV's would struggle to achieve that. Possibly cost less, but certainly longer in time.
Any EV would struggle to match you on a journey like that. Lee's couldn't look at it, because it has a relatively short range and very poor fuel economy - it's not built to be a long distance tourer. A long-range Tesla would be the best bet, but even there, if you were prepared to pee in a layby and not rest at all, it would lose.
The thing is, journeys like that are a very small part of life for most drivers. The other advantages of EVs more than make up for taking a bit longer on a long road trip.
Entertaining, but can’t really take your advice - a 60 year old man driving a PORCHE , who has massive debt on a car at his stage of life! Not exactly a success story.

EV’s aren’t for me. Not the answer. I recently watched an episode of Richard Hammond’s workshop in which he went to a guy who owned a huge collection of vintage Bentleys all of which ran on a synthetic fuel, a 90 year old Bentley running on a synthetic GREEN fuel! Why aren’t we talking about that? Every ICE vehicle on the road today could run on that fuel, it’s all down to ££££
Chargers in my town, one site run by Sheffield City Council and the other an Instavolt had their cables chopped off for Copper a few days ago. Expensive replacement and no guarantee that it won't happen again.
Tesla drivers sabotaging the competition... lol..
The heaters only work when the car is on fire!!
Not selling my 2017 VF SS V8 Holden Commodore to buy a sewing machine on wheels. It does everything from shopping to a run across the Nullarbor and I still get 16 MPG.....
The Fan on my Jeep has been spinning for 22 years and I live in Australia so it knows heat.

I know someone who works at the top of a car dealership,he said they avoid buying or selling any used EV’s due the very high risk of potential losses. 😮😢
Glad I cancelled my Ioniq 5, just taken delivery of a Golf R 20 years, happy days
Lee, as I said to you on FB, these new 911's are just too wide for Britain. My favourite is the 997.2 Targa.
4.7mm tread, need to keep an eye on it 😂. FFS Do they know you could do another 2 years on that tyre
Sorry Lee, but the GTS (estate) is nicer looking.
I have been told the dealers have to sell three EV for each ICE cars they sell, otherwise they have to pay a penalty.
Thats just not true. 22% this year.
Recent EV motor show in China where BYD disabled a lot of their cars , owned by people who'd turned up complaining about quality issues ....... Seems like a very good way to control the masses
The wardrobe on wheels is perfect for swinging!
Those entightled to motorbility are being given EVs. The dealers make more commission on an EV than an ICE in this scheme.
Nobody "gives" Motability customers EVs.
They choose a vehicle from a list.
That list is heavily skewed in favour of ICE vehicles.
900+ models available of which 209 are BEV.
It's really not hard to check!
🤔
