All he needs is a small damage buff on his level 2 (make it do 100-150 more damage) a range buff on his 5l/5m, his ex flips should be immune to ki blasts, make his ex shining flash plus on block or at least make it 20f, and he needs a buff to the blockstun on his A assist/ctf.

One thing i've always thought would be good for Trunks is if his jS out of any flip keep the flip momentum. As it stands right now jS feels really underwhelming and if you use it wrong it's a free punish. So instead imagine if you ex flip forward + jS which creates a sweeping kiblast that goes the entire screen, that would be tight. J214L jS would also create a downward sweeping kiblast that would prevent the opponent from approaching you like basegeta
Welcome back OB! He got some nice buffs but Trunks still needs help for sure. Couple more I can think of are: More safe buttons. A bigger and more active air jab. More damage and meter build for (5S/jS/flip > S). CTF damage + hitstun. Side switching lvl 3. Nothing game breaking. Just the boost he needs!
I didn't mention the side switch Lv3 because he has one mid screen. But in the corner can be a bummer most times, so I understand! Most safe buttons would be nice, but to make myself safe, I just use 236M mostly. Damage buffs sounds greedy! Even coming from me!
I always thought his CTF and air ki blast should be stronger considering they killed 17 and 18 in the anime. They could also make him use his sword for every normal and make everything a disjoint considering the party game patches they've given us the past couple years.
My problem with the change the future segment is that I think Change the future is more of an anti reflect and reflect bait tool than a neutral tool, because with his LL being an anti reflect, you can just bait the second reflect with a Fake out change the future when the opponent is just mindlessly reflecting.

The super follow-up dealing more damage makes complete sense. That's how he killed Robo Frieza in the show and the manga. Burning Attack was just a distraction, do Trunks can slice Frieza up. People thinking it's a bug just shows you that they aren't real DB fans.

Change the future also works as a tool to space out staggers akin to a character like Jiren, but a little less effective.
