Why does he treat his audience as a collective? Does he not realize that the people recommending the game and the people criticizing the game are likely NOT THE SAME PEOPLE?!

Here is what I think happened to Phil. When he was younger, he did legitimately enjoy games. However, he got a taste of money most of us never know at such a young age. Unfortunately, because addiction is a disease, Phil quickly got hooked. It’s obvious he got over his head and lost control of his spending and poor bookkeeping. That’s all fine. I don’t judge. However, how he continues to act is unacceptable.
How, older, he’s less enthusiastic, but he has not forgotten the taste of that money. He has openly admitted that he doesn’t play games offline (i.e., himself) and continues to claim he is not in this for the money. Now, he’s basically at the point where he is just asking his audience what he needs to do to get the “support.”
He is scrambling to make whatever minimal effort change he can to make the money come in. He’s learned nothing.
