I use breaking news English as well as Kieron's Film English, great recommendations Jack.
I also like teatime-mag.com with its fairly authentic articles and the quality voice overs that come with them. The site also has intext translations for some of the language within the article. Moreover, the vocabulary tab above the article also contains multiple choice comprehension Qs and vocabulary lists.
I set an article at the end of a class as either a reading or listening homework. Next class students summarise the article in their own words. Say what were the most interesting takeaways from the article, and then answer some personalisation questions (for example with the article on working on a cruise ship Iask if this would be an interedting job for them). I also often use a screenshare and we go through the comprehension questions together.
      Thanks for the video.
      Glyn.

Jack, once again very informative. I would like to go to ways with my teaching ESL. The first is the conversational English and second is academic English with a focus on teaching skills and concepts for reading, writing, listening, and speaking. I have more experience with the latter. In the mean time I will focus on the learners as suggested and review online resources too. Thanks

I cannot say enough good about it. A great variety of classes from starter to advanced, all categorized; the choice is huge. Placement test, grammar tests, stories , current events, discussion questions, grammar, phonics, exercises to go with every class and audios both US or UK accents + online assignment homework to review, and on the list goes, is worth every cent!
