    I work for one of the esl schools you mentioned. I have to say that sometimes the materials provided are really not that good quality, and you still have to supplement them. Or you could use your own materials which takes time to create, and you are not paid for that. There is also an issue of your students' expectations vs the course materials the school provides. So, at $10 an hour it is really not ideal.

      Native speaker typically means that English is your first language and you are from a country like the US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland or South Africa. You need a TEFL, one year of experience and a bachelor's degree. Minimum 20 hours per week which is why I didn't include it in the video since many teachers who are traveling and teaching cannot commit to this. Pay is $16 per hour for native speakers, $5 per hour for non-native speakers.

    • @ESLTeacher365
      @ESLTeacher365  Před 2 lety

      Some companies will require a degree, others will require a TEFL and some will require both. The only option that doesn’t require this is Outschool because it’s not an ESL company, but you still need to have relevant experience in your subject area. Your Teachable Moment also doesn’t require this, but they are only offering recorded classes now (no live classes).
