    Lord rest your soul whoop(my brother who passed away earlier this year) who really wanted me to buy one of these instead of the 91 fully loaded park Avenue that I ended up buying. Thank you bro for teaching me how to drive and starting me down the road of my love affair with cars and automotive culture I love and miss you.

    I think the reason truck sales blew up in the past 15 years was you couldn’t get these v8 body on frame rear wheel drive sedans that could seat 6 with a soft floaty ride anymore.

    • @charlesmchoop3007
      @charlesmchoop3007 Před 3 měsíci

      😅 The got rid of the fall body sedans because people already bought more SUVs / Trucks then before. It's not that the sales went up when such body on frame sedans / station wagons weren't around anymore.
      It all changed with the Suburban & many years later in the early 90's Trucks / SUV's sold like heck.

    One of the great land yachts and a fitting end to GM's land yachts. Super comfortable and tons of room with a reasonably powerful V8 engine to cruise all day long. No, it doesn't handle well, but these are at home on the highway. I always found it interesting that the sedans have a unique front end but the wagons just use the Caprice front end. The B and D bodies have a fair amount of interchangeability.
    That home plate-shaped chunk of plastic in the trunk is the resonator from the engine intake. It usually sits on top of the engine. People take it off and block the hole with a hockey puck to slightly improve the intake sound.
    Bring back the centered gas door behind the license plate. No more having to remember what side your tank is on and fight the lines at the gas station to get the proper pump. Just pull up almost past the pump and reach it over.

    On the automatic climate control. If you press and hold the off button and then the red (temp up) arrow for a few seconds the entire display lights up for a second. Let go of the buttons and you're in diagnostic mode. I don't know what all of them are but you scroll with the fan speed buttons and hit the top right button(middle) to engage. 6 is rpm×100, 8 is temp in °F, and 14 is speed in mph.
    This is a carryover from old Cadillacs from the 80's.

      smooth ride, you can actually run up on a sidewalk curb and not even feel it. It was like riding on a cloud.
      A highway road car or a prom night cruiser, Unbeatable.

  • @FortyTwoAnswerToEverything

    Had a 95 wagon. Always bothered me that they didn't use this front end on the wagon version. Makes no sense. It was an awesome cruiser nonetheless. Not a lot of mods, but did full exhaust including Afterburner midlengths, H-pipe, original 40 Flowmaster mufflers and 3" truck tips behind the wheels. Sweet classic muscle sound

      The 90s Fleetwood was the ultimate land yacht. LT1, two leather couches for seats, soft suspension, and a giant trunk. You could cruise all day.

  • @Doctor_Robert
    @Doctor_Robert Před rokem +4

    Easily the most impressive thing about this one is that it's a GM car from the 90s with a headliner that shows no signs of sagging!

    I have a 96. I love the LT1 engine. Over 170k miles on the original Optispark distributor and still running pretty good.
    My interior is the same color and the only difference I see is the armrest console. Mine has a full length lid with a foldout cup holder that can be used with the lid closed. I definitely like mine better

    Interesting. I love the 80s and 90s d and b body cars. And I only just realized right now that the Pontiac perisienne I grew up driving in was not a G-Body, it was also a b body.
    The 90s B&D bodies are some of my fav rides. The Roadmaster, The Caprice LTZ, the Impala, the roadmaster and the Fleetwood are some of very few cars that the 4 door only option doesnt bother me at all.

    2:40 They held off on content for the Roadmaster because the Park Avenue was considered the top-of-the-line Buick. Apart from more comfy seats, a tach, and other lil doodads above the Roadmaster, the Park Avenue did get dual-zone climate control (in the Ultras, which also came with superchargers)... despite the fact that the Park Avenue was a FWD C-Body and about 10 inches shorter. Yes, it is as stupid as it sounds.
