Back on Enigma's Cold War Server in DCS. In this debrief episode, I return to the Viggen, which I'm trying to learn how to use as a dogfighter. Any advice would be great

While weapons is unsafe, datapanel display will show 0 for a empty pylon and 1 for a loaded pylon. blinking digit is the weapon that will be fired.

You can also use the radar for ranging information for heaters when you have tone. It was one of the T buttons.. I forgot it if was T1 or TV, one of those IIRC, been a while since i last used the Viggen

1. Bind a button for "IR missile uncage". 2:Check your aoa, you are losoing alot of speed in your manouvers. Otherwise - love some Viggen ECW :P And tou are correctaboutmthe 19, if you get a frist shot its great, but dont start turning with it. Can see you uncage on the last farmer, so you know about it.
You broke your wings on the last one, something I do more than I would like to admit... its a fine line....

I teach Viggen all the timw but I dont know how to teach a2a Viggen. It is special. You kind of want to place your opponent in the right position and do the moves to your advantage, but I guess that is for all airframes...
if u set your computer to TAKT it will show as 1-1-1-1-1-1 as in each of the pylons and active(selected) pylon will flashing , if a pylon empty it will show as 0, example off 4missle fired and 2gun remaning, 0-1-0-0-1-0 , even when guns are empty it will show them as 1
also u can uncage the missle and fire, if enemy infront of u and not getting tone most of the time missile find the target as soon as u launched it and track

@@RoninTrickshot i dont know why but most of the time i dont get the tone when looking at a SU-25 but if i fire(uncage) missile track , thoe yeah make sure Friendly is not near =)
I press cage/ uncage button all the time when I get within range. Seems easier to get lock just wen you press uncage. But Su25s, you need to be kinda close because they don't have afterburner...
1:49 maybe you had this emergency select for the Sidewinder bind to your hotas and hit is accidently? And you need to uncage the Sidewinders....if it is a proper version. The remaining weapons are indicated with "1" on the CK37 and the choosen one is blinking
I've had that exact mishap with uncageing on an enemy and it flicking onto an ally as I fired. Sadly this was in an attempt to save a friendly... F14. Got the full 30 penalty points, still hurts thinking about that moment! Went from excitement thinking I was about to save his jet to '&%#@&^' and a load of penalty points

I don't know why I forget so often. It's the most obvious ejecting arming handle on the game and I still miss it more often than not
Since the Update GCI doesn't show anything at all on EWC so there won't be any GCI coverage until they fix it. Shame as it is such a force multiplier.
I’ve been told to jettison the external fuel tank at 103% fuel. I’m just learning the Viggen myself.
Fair enough. To be honest, by the time I notice it's normally down to 90% XD

Are you a member of 'Blucord - ECW & TBF Community'? There's a few knowledgeable Viggen pilots on there I've been speaking to.
This was posted yesterday and later confirmed by others:
"External tank should be dropped at 103 percent fuel
This happens really quickly after a full burner takeoff and climb to altitude at best speed
Like minutes after takeoff"

@@Dr_Jebus I also had a Mig 21 outrun me yesterday on ECW at low altitude whilst I was only carrying two air to air missiles after an emergency weapons jettison and fuel tank jettison.
I think they've really nerfed the speed of the Viggen from the videos I used to watch a year ago. :(
@@British_Dragon-Simulations yeah, there was a flight model update a while ago. 21s can catch you especially if it comes in with a dive, but do note that if you force the 21 to go fast enough it will compressor stall

I managed to hit the Mig 21 running back to his side (leading me to his SAM's likely) by just trying my luck without an audible lock on tone, I fired a Fox-2 and it hit him from behind and the feed confirmed the kill.
I don't know if this is a bug or not. I'm going to test it again today.
