  • Here's a way to get trash out of the parks more easily. You use a rope with a pulley on it and use that to carry trash up to the road from the river. It's probably mostly only interesting to people who really want to clean up parks and protect Nature. But it's practical!

      Thanks Zeke! Just be sure you have a nice strong rope which will stay pretty tight, if it's for a long-term install. Pulleys are awesome!

    Thank you. I wasn't looking for this great idea but it is certainly going to come in very useful as I have a very steep slope at the bottom of my garden where I keep gravel, compost, pots and such like. I hope you and your family are all well at this time. God bless.

      Shawn, just be sure to use a very strong "Pulley rope", the pull-rope can be weaker but the main rope the pulley goes through has to be real strong. Hope it can help!

    • @evanandnature
      @evanandnature  Před 3 lety

      @@ninamarie2312 I found the best for me was a 1/2" hard nylon twisted rope. Really strong and stood up to lots of tension which is important to keep the line from sagging. The pulley rope needs to be strong and have good tension, but the pull rope you attach to the pulley can be less strong. Best of luck!

    How does this work. You don't demonstrate how it works!

    • @evanandnature
      @evanandnature  Před 3 lety

      Sorry Drew, I sure tried to! It's very simple in practice, just put a pulley on a rope, tie between two trees or anything solid, then clip a pull rope onto the pulley and then you can pull all kinds of things up steep embankments. Has worked great for years to pull tires and junk up steep areas in parks! Sorry I didn't show it better, thanks for asking.

  • @john-bullenglish6343
    @john-bullenglish6343 Před 2 lety

    Instead of rolling it up the hill, I bet you’ll spend more time and effort using a pulley to drag that rim and tire on the ground as you demonstrated

    • @evanandnature
      @evanandnature  Před 2 lety

      No, that's not true. We usually do this when we have 30 or more tires and other trash down a steep hill- there is NO comparison between doing 30 tires by pulley or by hand, not even close. Thanks though!

      Yeah this is only for TRASH, I'd never put more weight on anything than it can handle. On most cleanups I've been on, most trash bags and tires weigh less than the critical weight capacity of these tools. But yeah, don't go zip-lining on it!!!

      Well, I promise if you're rolling 50 filthy tires up a steep embankment (which is uneven, rocky, trashy, etc) it makes good sense! In my experience anyway. But if you're looking for exercise, yeah, I agree.
