I love how I can think "Of course, Levy. I can see why these moves are horrendous" and then play my own game where my opponent must think that I eat crayons
The McDonald's fry box full of Crayola doesn't really help that, either... But, I get it, sometimes you just need a midgame snack.
😂
I feel so attacked rn
But in reality you eat markers
But... but crayons are for fire, not for eats, that s what pencils are for
Imagine them thinking

This game will still be studied in 500 years. Masterpiece. They both saw 50 moves ahead and saw the draw. Blacks queen move was exactly what can happen in this elo.
I think you meant Disasterpiece.
This isn't just art, it's the Mona Lisa of bad chess! 🤯
Bahahaaha. Imagine they sit there at the beginning of the game guy 1: "draw in 50" guy 2: "yes I see that now, well should we play it out anyways?" ...ouch I think I just cracked a rib laughing, ty gotham, ty comments section
I genuinely laughed when he said “The queen is seeing everyone” 😂

Basic principle to teach newbies in chess. If you have more pieces than your opponent, exchanging is almost always good

@@learntodrivenow your elo can’t be in the negatives
Levi has 2 sides
"you have to always look for checks"
"stop giving checks"
if you look for a check and you find garbage you don't take it LOL
Looking for checks and giving checks are different things though.
What he really really meant is dont give checks in the middle of a board when the only pieces you have are a bishop and rook because you arent gonna checkmate them that way.
there isnt a contradiction there, always look for checks because it makes it easier to find tactics and winning combinations, but just because youre considering the moves doesnt mean you have to play it without thinking one move ahead, is what levy means.
I had a guy check me over 50 times because he was stalling for time, they did nothing besides making me want to jump off a cliff
The plays were so galaxy brain even the computer thought they were blunders, just shows us how much we have left to learn from those masters
Mind blown.
One thing I've noticed starting out in the low ranks is that a lot of people don't know how to checkmate and just expect you to resign. I've danced my lone king around the board until the clock ran out a few times because of it. So at low ranks at least, I never resign. There's a pretty good chance I can run out the clock or force a draw.
So true.
What's your rating? And in what time control ? In bullet dure, but if your opponent has 2 minutes on the clock in an endgame like this he should always be able to easily win
endgames in beginners are mainly determined by how smart you are. these guys are low ranked because of their awful endgames are their lack of smarts. my openings and middlegames are pretty similar to these 700s but i'm in 1500 because my endgames are nearly perfect.

Tbf, I was thinking about the same move they played to get the rook into play and attack the queen. I was staring at that bishop the entire game and I knew the pawns were trash, I just forgor to think 💀

13:10 - I legitamently wouldn't be surprised if that was a misclick. I've done horrindous blunders like that in the past because of a misclick or the game freezing and misinterpreting my inputs when it unfreezes.

Stunning performance by our 2 GMs. This is why GMs almost always draw, they're too high level.
If you have been wondering why he kept yelling "trade the rooks and win the end game", now you've seen what that one rook can do if not taken off the board.
It's always great to see two Gigachad Masters go at it.

He changes his video titles so frequently, but he didn’t think to change that shirt.
I remember when it was called 57 mistakes
I cannot possibly express how dumbfounded I was when I correctly guessed 5:21. You said I wouldn't be able to guess so I just thought of a random move and it actually happened
This is roughly the level of chess where you can see a lot of serious stupidity and blundering pieces for no reason but also occasionally amazing moves that are just like "how did they see that?"
"Ok, fine, let's trade the rooks."
This is quite possibly the most riveting, dramatic, edge-of-the-seat, draw in the history of chess. Because never at any moment was there the slightest possibility of it being a draw. Until the final moment, when it was. Wow.
I absolutely love when Levy theoretically makes a move in analysis, says he loves it, has all the confidence in the world, and stockfish subtracts 1-3 points from whatever move he's defending. I know what Levy is saying is 100% true for a human player, but it's an ever-reminder that the machine gods are looking down upon us playing chess and laughing while enjoying a margarita and playing candy crush on a beach
This video is actually perfect for beginners. It could also be called "A lot of dumb bs you better not do, more reasons why and even more brain cells Levi is loosing while analyzing" :D just amazing!
3:30 "Stockfish hates it, but whatever I hate Stockfish, so that counter balance it"
That ending is poetry on a chess board
it looked like a yinyang symbol with rooks
6:40 Yeah there's a pretty clear reason for this queen move: white knight had a clear fork on both it and the b file rook within one move so it was preventing that fork and while it means one rook got boxed in, it was either move the queen or that b file rook or blunder a rook.
But if nxc6, dxc6, no?
" a clear fork" 😂😂 We got Magnus Mcbozo with some insights over here
And you blundered a knight, pretty clear reason huh
Are you dum or something? White have tried to fork the queen and rook but black had a pawn covering c6, so White would've just given a free knight
Chess played perfectly always ends in a draw
You know most of these games just offer endless laughs and entertainment to me. That endgame brought me physical pain.
This was like listening to the greatest performance of my favorite symphony of all time but the guy next to me is talking on his phone for an hour.
Levy opens these videos with the same 30-second sketch every time and I still can't help but laugh in anticipation because I know what we are about to witness on the board transcends comedy itself
21:48 Mate in 37 bruh
Me seeing this : Finallyyyy … a worthy opponent!! Our blunders will be legendaryyy!!!
17:27 Honestly, that KG7 checkmate plan was my exact idea in that position. I did not see the discovered attack on the rook at all. But I definitely wouldn’t have blundered the rook AND the bishop. That is insane. When you lose a rook you didn’t expect to lose why would you go forward with the same plan without reassessing?
It was also my first idea. And i am such an impulsive person that i could totally see myself doing that without even thinking. But since it wasnt me playing i looked for a little longer and saw the free rook.
I like the way how you give pauses in-between to make the scene intense
and then play the move while interrupting himself to get the comedic timing just right :) 6:32
I think G3 at 05:45 is to avoid back rank mate, I am 800~ and a lot of times I straight forget backrank mates because I am crushing the opponent on the other side, so I have straight up started pushing a pawn as soon as I castle. Since white pushed G3 right after Castling I think that is the most probable reason. And Yes, I was able to guess that because I make those garbage moves...
10:44 I would've played that move too. You can also later play Ne4 as it blocks the rook from protecting the knight.
what a class act by the grand masters leaving only the kings on the board in a known drawn end game
Honestly it went better than my expectation of draw by repetition
Thought it would go for a 50 move draw because they dont know how to checkmate with rooks
@@cyrillindenmann4562 I thought it was going to be 1 move away from the 50 move draw then they do a pawn move.
"Stockfish hates it, but whatever. I hate stockfish so it counterbalances."
5:35 I think that since puzzles so often show an endgame where the king is trapped behind its own pawns that he was preparing for that, I do that sometimes although I shouldn't
Giving your king a flight square is perfectly fine. Just remember that you should wait for a good time to do it and that moving your h-pawn is generally less weakening than moving your g-pawn.
Chess, when played perfectly, is a draw.
Coincidentally yes
And also when played horribly, it is a draw remarkably often.
@Hunter Vonnegut exactly! All you have to do is get a yahtzee

Endgame tip for 700s: if you have a rook and they have a rook and pawns, sac your rook for all the pawns. Because your 700 opponent doesn't know how to mate with king and rook, so it's a draw. If they mate you after using some time, report them for cheating, and gain back your elo.
Yeah no one below 900 knows the king and rook mate. The same applies up to about 1400ish with bishop and knight.
I'm 1600 and I don't know the B+N mate. I've never drawn because of it though. I always try to preserve a pawn

I really like your coverage of low elo games, it's both entartaining and educational. I sympathize with these players, there's sometimes only one winning move and I and my opponents tend to make blunders in those endgame moments.
I feel like a genius when i'm watching this. Also, it's actually impressive how they made a draw with only two kings on the board. Haven't seen a draw like that.
That is actually not too rare kind of draw in chess when draws are not offered and accepted.
