i never understood why the heartwork album didn‘t made them huge stars. the songs are so good. heavy, yet melodic, just great. maybe ahead of their times?
i was thinking this recently, tbh i think it was a record really ahead of its time, released at a different time/diff circumstances it could have been recieved a whole lot better
Probably also considering how niche they were before heartwork and their name too perhaps
I bought it, saw them on MTV as a kid (heartwork) and was hooked. Had to order the CD from a niche music store in town but loved every song and still do! Luckily they played my hometown in the UK and got to see them live. Still have the ticket stub !
Bought their album on release and it blew my mind. They certainly were ahead of the times. In any case Heartwork´s fame will only grow year after year, its a seminal record indeed.
Heartwork it was one of the best deathmetal albums in the history

That opening line got me. Absolutely fantastic. Had to wait to stop laughing and check my ribs weren't broken before I could carry on watching.
Heartwork, a great piece of work - exquisite language in their lyrics - very Shakespearan - Heavy as meant to be.

Evil Dave he’s the riff master and imo the best guitarist. Amott is overrated and their last album shows how much criminally underrated Bill is
@@blackblurable It wasn't until seeing them live, that I realized that all leads I loved from Heartwork were actually Bill's work and not Amotts. No wonder I never could get into Arch Enemy.
And such a relaxt dude! I was at this show, I met Bill a few hours after the show, he wasdrinking beer and watching slash amidst the crowd haha
This is one of the greatest intros in outdoor festival history
They sound really tight live. Can't wait for them to drop a new album. Everything they do turns into a classic.

@@misumi75 Carcass's early work was great. Symphonies of Sickness is one of the most groundbreaking grindcore and death metal album. The shit they were doing in 1989 was insane. Then, they changed their sound and broke new ground in melodeath. You don't need to like grind to see how influential they were.

I met Bill Steer in New Orleans last month over lunch at Coops. Had some good laughs..great guy and awesome guitar player.
First heard them on an Earache Compilation cassette, in 92’ or thereabouts. Changed how I listened to music thereafter. Carcass always stood out to me as being and having a very diversified sound. No two tracks ever sounded remotely close to another. Exhume to Consume is easily my favorite song by them. Just my 2 cents
Nice to hear the bass guitar, even tho the 6 strings are what dominate that song. I never understood why bands would drown out their bass guitar, it sounds weaker to me.
I agree, it's nice to hear a bit bottom heavy.

Michael is one of my favorites. One of the BIGGEST reasons I play guitar! I love Carcass. Heartwork really got me into all forms of death metal!

Hunter Played a Dean Hollywood z, then Ibanez Rg560, now play Ibanez J custom which is sweet. Never played deans high end.

Tezzle Tibbs me too. He still sings and writes for the band, they all love Ken to death and honestly he's probabaly my favorite drummer

I saw iron maiden with 200 others at Bournemouth town hall in 1980 but metal left me although these fellas are Gritty , don’t fuck about and look like they love it. and I remember metal bands looking exactly like these fellas. That is saw music. I’m a fan Thankyou. 🏴😎
