Wow, these commanders are spicy! 11:50, Etali casts all the spells at the same time as part of its ability resolving. Auras must target things already on the battlefield before the ability resolves. Great game!
Oh dang, that would have changed things as he could not have gotten infinite mana with Selvala. Shoot.
Per the comprehensive rules
“If you cast more than one of the exiled cards, you choose the order in which to cast them. A spell you cast this way can be the target of a later spell you cast this way. However, permanent spells cast this way won't resolve until you're done casting spells, so the permanents they become can't be the target of spells cast this way. For example, if you exile Twincast and Lightning Strike, you can cast Lightning Strike and then cast Twincast targeting it; but if you exile a creature card and an Aura card, you can't cast that Aura targeting that creature.”

Food for thought, Zimone and Dina would have made him draw 2 cards on each activation.
With Zulaport, he would've had to have 70 cards (35 triggers, 1 sac each, 2 draws each) left in his library to kill all of you.
He probably could've used something else to close it out, but I think there was a little bit left to do.
This might be accurate. We will have to go see if he had any other outs as we hurried him.
Definitely want to see more of all these commanders!

All of these decks deserve to be shown again. I run a Zimone and Dina deck and man she can be spicy. Heliod seems like he could be a storm commander and Shalai and Etali need to do more dirty things in the future. Love all your content

On the topic of characters with phyrexianized art but no card, there is mention on one of the commons' flavor text (and hint in the art) that Koma was phyrexianized. That would have been a fun card to get.

Great game :) was hoping to see shalai and hallar pull out a spicy 2 card combo or at least have some big counters/damage turns but oh well, hopefully we see more of them in the future

Fantastic game as always. Seems like everyone was a threat at some point and the power levels were well balanced. This type of game is my favourite - powerful with plenty of interaction with interesting card interactions, but not cedh speed or efficiency.
Mid to high is my fav too!

I was expecting a different ending for this one since it was not cEDH but unfortunately infinite combos are still part of this power level match, great decks and looking forward to see those again in action in another games
Infinite combos are part of the game. They are not just cEDH. Nothing wrong with them at all
Some commanders are just built for combos, but ya my goal was to burn everyone to death. I got so flooded though!

Or commander damage. Or getting milled out. If you have a good understanding of the state of the game most things are “anticlimactic”

Cool game! Etali seems like a lot of fun, while Heliod looks like the most annoying deck to play against. Btw didn't Jeff need 70 cards in his deck to deal 35 damage since Zimone and Dina makes him draw two each time?
Maybe… we sort of forced him to shortcut because we didn’t want to wait as he went through each interaction. Hopefully we didn’t mess that up.
I feel I'd be more annoyed by Etali than Heliod. Heliod isn't indestructible and is doing its own thing, while, as an example from this game, Etali straight up exiled War Elemental from Shalai and Hallar's library while they were flooding. It also exiles the lands which is weird. Just gone forever. That just feels kinda bad in the same way that mill does, but somehow worse since it isn't to graveyard. It doesn't seem fun to play against at all, you just spend the whole game hoping they don't hit anything important and paints a target on the player's back for running it (also the case in this game). Heliod, on the other hand, drew opponents into removal for Heliod. You're even actively encouraged to avoid running Narset so your opponents actually draw the cards, which is the most feelsbad part of wheel decks.

I think Etali is a little too strong, but his effect isnt oppressive by any means.

Unless that fabled passage was triggering something when it entered he couldn’t respond to it he could respond to the cracking of the fetch but it entering it causing no etbs there’s nothing to respond to
You can respond to the fabled passage activation I believe.

Fun game to watch. I will admit I am not a big fan of etali. I think his effect is to powerful to be frank and the fact your not gonna whiff and get a spell no matter what is a bad card design to me. Multiplayer you can build so much advantage and pull a win out of nowhere just by sheer rng luck of getting incredibly powerful spells. Not salty or anyhting like that in regard to the card just my thoughts on it. But yea good game overall.
His effect when it can be spammed I meant which lets be frank the only way a deck using him would be run.
I can see that. He is pretty expensive, but the power level is pretty high for a standard etali deck

The new heliod is busted, 3 and a phurexian white is way to cheap, especially compared to the others in that cycle.
It might be the best one imo
@@KingdomsTV definitely the best overall. Especially its backside. I'd say etali has the strongest front side though
