    Cavendish is Legendary. No argument.

I think the only argument is whether Cav is the most legendary of them all!?
He may not be now...but as time passes, the legend will only grow.
Absolute superstar of our beautiful sport!

@@thatberkshirecyclist the legend will certainly grow when people understand the longevity of the lad and the drugs he raced against.

The stage win last week was such an incredible example of why Cav is the man, switching from wheel to wheel, being in the perfect spot at the right time. Good luck making it to Nice, it’s been a joy cheering you on over the years!

We need to think about the modern legends such as Cancellara, Boonen, Sagan, and Wiggins...there is a distinct feeling (to me at least), that whilst yes - those are names that will regularly appear in 'Top 10's' and lists of the sort, that by achieving his 35th Tour De France Stage Win, that Mark Cavendish promotes himself to the very top of any such list. But more than that, even: I think although we are recognising the achievement now and acknowledge Mark Cavenish as a legend...the legend will only grow in his retirement.
The size of the achievement will only become more apparent as more time passes. The way that Mercx is a guest of honour at The Tour every year. The way that we speak about cycling icons and legends such as Fausto Coppi, Miguel Indurain, Bernard Hinault, Gino Bartali - Mark Cavendish will now be held in the same esteem as them; an ABSOLUTE Legend, not merely a 'modern' legend.
    Congrats Sir Mark Cavendish!
Can we get #36 on the way to Nice? I certainly believe and hope so!

Although all your points are totally valid, you lost me at whilst. Wish you Brits would speak English. ;)

Nothing left to prove...but one more would be something else. He deserves his retirement & all the accolades that he gets.

Astounded you have all the facts and evidence, backed by a wealth of experience I'm sure, and yet ... no one seems to be listening to you 🙄
