Also, with the cat sprites, I replaced them with the "Guy" character and I traced all the animations so I can use the hitboxes for my little "Guy" and isn't it just so nice that you are someone that contributes to the community to help us with trouble in need. Dang, I thought hitboxes and slope costumes were for clones and lists but no, just a switch costume got the job done!!! Griffpatch is the only one I can think of to pull this off.
I just can't understand how this man has so much creativity and brain for making this kind of projects, right now, I'm trying to learn to program in java with my Dad's knowledge about programming, I have an idea for a videogame, but is really big. I hope some day I could program like you, and if some day, I finish of making the videogame, I'll make you know for that you give me your opinion, you are great! I'm actually amazed by the amount of gamefeel and polish there is in this tutorial, it's something you rarely see on videos for Unity or Unreal, so I absolutely didn't expect it for a Scratch tutorial.

I'm making my level kinda rainbow colored, the higher up the level is, the more the color changes. I even did it with the slope!

LETS GO GRIFF i remember when coding was hard in scratch until ur channel u really made me a good coder ty :)
IMPORTANT!!! On coding the Animations - Stand pose on Slopes/flat tiles
On it you should Copy and Paste/ Replicate the exact order as in the video
Stand Hitbox 0-4 Should be After the Standing poses Replicate everything in order as it is n the video ( 14:21 ) From Sprite 1 to the final number ( depending how much you have done sprites for more customization
Reason being? You Could get in trouble with *wrong poses* while *standing*
i got this issue
tried to replicate the same code again checking that everything was same
the problem was that the Stand Hitboxes were in the wrong order and the Pose sprites too
to counter this Make sure to have it in the dedicated order as in the video or you May find some trouble
i even added Blank sprites for wall slide/wall pose

Or other but yeah my issue was only for the set being all over the place with sprites so the animation didnt go properly
It shows hitbox v2 for me instead of the normal hitbox or scratch cat.
Do you have a solution?
@@kokosplatking is your Costume list in order as the video shows it to?
There is the Animation part - capping at 16'th cat or Sprite costume depending on the character
If you have hitbox v2 on Below the 16 mark then it shows it... and if you dont have the Cap at 16 block
Thats all i can say from little context and i hope this sloved it like it did for me
I did just ignore it at first and went to the next episode if that helps as a some sort of way on how i got it fixed

can you do vertical scene switching by simply making a new block like the scene switch block except all the "x" variables are replaced with the corresponding "y" variables and making the "set x" to "set y", then adjusting the coordinates carefully?

Hey Griffpatch, another great video! I know you've already got lots of projects on the go but would you ever consider trying to make a mystery dungeon game?
I just thought it might be interesting since it would combine a bunch of different projects you've already covered. It would be tile based with randomly generated mazes and enemy pathfinding. The new stuff you'd need to cover is making the player and enemies snap to the tile grid, have the enemies only move when the player does, and then the turn based combat. I know this would get really complicated quickly so I understand if you don't have time for something like this but I thought I'd ask anyways.

I have a quick question for another episode, could you make a tutorial on how to make a sort of waiting stance like Sonic, kind of how if you leave him standing there for a few seconds, it plays an animation? I think it would really look good for Scratchy.
Edit: Also maybe jump sound or just a full-on sfx tutorial, because no matter what I try, the sfx for my jump never plays.
Yes, a way to put in an âidlingâ animation would be cool.
maybe you found your answer, but:
if not walking/jumping/etc:
variable + 1 every idk 0,01 second
if variable = (your number):
play your animation
and your need to set this variable to 0 every time player doing something
(its pretty simple tutorial, improve it for good results)
