Between the Bars - Elliot Smith (Cover)

Elliot Smith is a special artist and one I've been mesmerised by for a long time. The lyrics of this song eerily foreshadow his tragic demise and paint a beautiful albeit haunting picture to anyone who knows the story of his life and death. To play a song as sensitive as this one requires a great deal of care and respect for the original. I was in two minds about recording it. Its a challenging song, but its such a favourite of mine I decided to share it. I'm playing on my Martin OM-28 and singing through a Telefunken U47 microphone. I hope you appreciate my tribute to Elliot Smith.
