You would think that with the money you spend on these coins quality assurance and quality checks would be made with a human eye before their are individually released
Yeah, you would have thought and hoped for this!
I've not had an issue with any 1oz gold bullion coins from them so far, have 3 in total but prefer atkinson due to them being cheaper. Know nothing about proof coins though.
Get on groups, trusted sellers, even cheaper.. vouches, admin, pictures of what your getting NOT what you might get
@@philpots3216 rather buy directly myself I use royal mint or atkinson never had an issue
@@ajm5039 so did I when I started last year, I only stated as you said because they are cheaper. Each to there own, I save alot more buy not paying overheads,
@@philpots3216 yeah gold price I'd high right now, I started 4 years ago when it was lower. Right now I don't think I will be investing much
@@ajm5039 time will tell for me, I dont pay bullion store prices, most the time spot +2-3%. I'm in it for 15-20 years so inflation will help in the long run. I just think if I can save by going else where then I'm a do it. I did start late but better than not.
I had a negative experience myself, I bought a 2 oz silver Una and The Lion and just two weeks after getting my hands on it, it started showing terrible milk spots that ruined it. Since then many emails have been exchanged every 3-4 months (because they always seem to forget about it) and still the issue is unresolved :( I know the coin arrived in good status, but the timing of the milk spots is not acceptable and to me it is like a fraud.
Great looking 1/4 oz proof apart from the scratch of course, i was lucky and got a silver proof jubilee coin which is very nice. I just hope that The Royal Mint will get the QC on these beautiful products right one of these days before some of us lose faith in what we are buying. Great vid, thanks..
I am thinking the Royal Mint should be hiring you for quality control my friend. This one makes 2 for 2 poor pieces from them. The coin design though is great.
Fantastic coin imo better than the 2022 sovereign and very very close to beating the tudor rose sovereign in design
Beautiful coin. Beautiful Packaging.
I know how you feel. I Ordered the Morgans from the U.S. Mint. 2 had imperfections. I didn't have the luxury of returning them for replacement as they sold out before I received them. Lots to complain about the U.S.MINT!!!
I have seen CZcamsrs complain about a tiny nick on a business strike, but on a special proof coin - it should be free of imperfections - that's why you spend so much more on it. The Royal Mint is much easier to deal with than the US Mint, so I reckon you will be satisfied in the long run. I stopped ordering from the US Mint, because it is simply not worth it. I hope TRM doesn't go downhill, as so many businesses have been lately.
Bullion you hope you don't any quality issues, but for proof, if you pay the premium you expect to get as close to 70 rating as possible. When you buy a brand new luxury car you don't expect any flaws, so why should proof coins be any different?
Very nice video. Please make more on gold coins
Looks like I will never buy proofs from them
Love the RM coins but they need to have more stringent QA processes. I do get frustrated sometimes when I want something and don’t get it because of the ‘queue’ process but nevertheless my endeavour continues…
That's comforting, I ordered two silver coins of the Jubilee line with a 6 to 9 week lead time... 😬🤣 Fingers crossed the coins I will receive will be worth the VAT and especially Customs surcharge I still need to pay for these coins, would suck if I had to return them from mainland Europe after all of this.
I have all my fingers crossed for you!
Her Majesty looking very smart on the horse there, good to see. Hearkens back to an age when monarchs were pictured on horseback (if not slaying dragons with a lance, although that would be a thing to see).
They must be keeping the perfect examples for grading and selling at inflated prices. Dumping imperfect coins on us. I sent back another coin, I’m done.
Mr BYB .. it's odd , as I spoke to the R.M on Friday asking where my quarter oz coin was ..as it stated "in stock" delivery within 3-5 working days .. and I was told late January !
I originally called the R.M because my 2022 sovereign I sent back for the third time came back in , yet another scratched capsule with the odd bit of debris inside.. they said I could send it back again! to which I replied No ...please send a new capsule.... what's the point when they can't even transfer a replacement coin into a new capsule.... ? It looks like there's a dink to the left of the queen on the obverse on your coin as well.. maybe just on the capsule...
I have the silver through , that came same time.. but it seems that it has misting /toned on the obverse.. it's a shame because I think the design is really good , and maybe would have been better suited to the sovereign... but either way, both coins are definitely a must for collectors ...
What happened to your quintuple sovereign? was it replaced ?
If it’s limited to 1,000 and the issue is sold out how can they replace it, I know this might be stupid and I am asking my granny to suck eggs but just not sure how it would be done. Would they really mint one coin over again.
Such a beautiful design, what a shame.
This really should not be happening in the first place. A Perth Mint QC Intervention team should be on standby in a secret location. Because not all heroes wear capes..
surely the coins go through a scanner that would see any blemish, i expect it wasn't bad enough! certain chocolate bars go through a scanner to see major flaws!
Could have happened during packaging, maybe dropped???
You should do a review on the mechanized minotaur coin... it is crazy good
How much is the silver 2 oz proof version selling for?
Oh, no idea haven't kept an eye on secondary market sales
I mean if its a rare occurrence then the coin will have a higher collectability
At first I thought that you were being rather pedantic but then, on reflection, these items cost a great deal of money so I think you are absolutely right to complain. 😊
Are the bullion coins normally marked a bit?
They can be, usually are too because they are often supplied in tubes where the coins touch one another
@@BackyardBullion I bought a silver oz in an individual capsule. I didn't know if I should complain or not. It's my 1st coin.
If it's a massive ding, scratch or something like that then maybe, otherwise it's just part of bullion grade coins
NO!
@@BackyardBullion I don't ever see myself paying the extra hundreds for those proof coins so I'll have to live with the little nicks and dents lol.
Oh the bums....
It's such a shame, it's a beautiful coin
@@BackyardBullion I guess when you pay your employees to horse around and not hold them accountable, things like these will continue
I have not yet watched the video but, just as I asked myself after earlier videos here complaining about RM quality, I can't understand the unswerving loyalty, tantamount to endorsement, of this obviously-lacking, organisation when it comes to sorting out such issues. I have had to buy directly from them (Atkinson's being my preferred dealer though only Sharps-Pixley for Bitcoin payments) but there are better, like Perth Mint, IMHO. They do not seem willing or capable - one of the downsides of having absolutely no commercial competition. Where is the incentive? Sorry.
A royal phuck up
Looks that way!
Hi, great video but imo it's not minute.
If they send it back, my advice would be stop buying products from them..
Personally I'm not buying directly from them again after seeing the standard their happy to accept.
When we pay a high premium for any item you should be able to expect it to arrive as desirable as it was on the advert or stock picture.
I'm surprised you're still so high up the list on these new Royal mint releases, considering how much you complain about them?
