Hi Jackie, I think growing up in Texas, I remember the little statues/items were called "Whatnots". my Mom calls them dust collectors. Love your Grandma's kitchen! Thank you Mark and Jackie.
For outlets on the side of non-white islands, you can get paintable outlet covers that cover the entire outlet for less than $3 each online and paint them to match the cabinet color.
Grandma's kitchen is full of love! Best kitchen... because the pink shag carpet was tossed.
@Tony I said it & I’ll say it again! So jelly of your ginormous space! And super gorgeous design!
Love the separate coffee and microwave in the second kitchen
Not very slippery floorings! 😄 I was afraid too but I’ve never slipped 🤞
I love Grandma's house!
@Tony I love your sketch of Mark 😄
Oh the corner bottom shelf I had installed pull out trays on the two levels to store less used pots & pans
Pet cubby great way to get bowls off floor so you not kicking water and pet food and removing trip hazard
You guys always put a smile on my face! Thanks again for a great live & can’t wait to catch the next one, hope I won’t have to work at that one!
Looks like a table attached to the island in the first one.
Too bad I didn’t happen upon your channel until I already had the design down. Now I can’t wait to move so I can incorporate more of your expertise into a new kitchen design …with more space 😆
That is a steam oven next to the fridge. And since my cabinet doors are pvc I didn’t want to place it on the other side near the doors
If i reno a kitchen ever, its going to be black and white or white and white 😁
The designer didn’t want to incorporate a panel or shelves above the fridge since the wall was not flat… it bugs me a bit too lol
Jackie, did you say the flooring in your grandma’s kitchen was sheet vinyl? I’m debating between waiting to replace the carpet with new flooring until I remodel, using sheet vinyl if it’s cheap enough to just replace in a couple of years when I remodel, or doing a floating click lock LVP and buying extra to fill in or replace in spots when I remodel, since I’m pretty sure the cabinet layout will be at least slightly different than now due to cabinet sizes.
We've re-done flooring in our home recently. We could not find inexpensive sheet vinyl anymore. Now if you want vinyl flooring that has a little foam core in the underlayment it is costly. (And that is what makes it comfortable underfoot for standing in the kitchen for cooking marathons.) Tile doesn't give at all for dropped items.
