    It takes balls to try to sell Bremerton (edge of Seattle?) as some sort of destination.

    Knowing you'd have to "short list" bases, those selected not too bad for choices. For the Air Force gang;
    Alaska
    - Ellison AFB - located in Fairbanks close to Ft Wainwright. Ft Greely approx 100 miles east of both.
    - Elmendorf AFB - located in Anchorage close to Ft Richardson
    Spent 4 years Ft Wainwright. Alaska - you'll either love it total or hate same.
    Washington
    - McChord AFB south of Seattle close by Tacoma. As well Ft Lewis. Pacific northwest fabulously beautiful, much more to do than could be covered in vid.
    BTW - unless DOD regs changed Alaska and Hawaii are both considered overseas assignments. Either better overseas assignments choices than S. Korea or Germany.
    Lastly, while vid author points out base choices, get to know your service branch manager who believe it or not will usually work on your behalf in line with your MOS to plug you into a good slot at your base desired choices.

    Stationed at NAS Key West 72-73. A nice place to end my enlistment. Before that, Holy Loch Scotland and Dam Neck, VA.

    People say it rains a lot in Seattle because it rains a lot... no other reason 😮

    So not one Airforce base is nice? I don’t believe that.

      Like Eglin, and the Joint Base Miami, probably was Homestead. It did seem a bit Navy/Marine Corp heavy, maybe a part 2.

    8:00 When I was in 30 some years ago, you needed your CO's permission to go more than something like 50 miles from base. And you can be considered AWOL if you get stuck and return late. Not worth the risk.
