    Yoga for flat feet, sort of. That’s what this Iyengar Yoga class should actually be called 😂. The practice includes flat foot exercises and tips for how to fix flat feet (strengthen your arches!), but it could also have been titled Iyengar Yoga for Knee Pain or Iyengar Yoga for Back Pain because the practice includes fundamental work with the feet and legs, which is crucial for stabilizing these other, related joints.
    The practice includes a quintessentially Iyengar Yoga exploration of Tadasana, Mountain Pose. I hope you enjoy it!

    I have never sweat so much standing absolutely still. Thank you for your instruction!
    I've been practicing yoga for five years and just accepted that I'd probably never balance well on one foot. And not necessarily that well on two feet. It took the whole five years for an instructor to recently ask, "Do you happen to have flat feet?"
    She showed me how I could stand to create a temporary arch in my foot, and after that I started scouring the internet for how to work on this issue. I found your video and it's amazing. Doing these exercises caused me to feel muscles I'd never been aware of. It was not at all enjoyable or easy, which is how I figure it's working :).
    One thing that concerns me is that I've had surgery for a bone spur caused by hallux limitus in my left big toe. My range of motion is already wonky in that toe, and I have trouble spreading the toes wide apart from each other on that foot. My right foot's toes spread apart easily. I'm afraid the structure of my left foot is gonna prevent me from ever really feeling those three points of contact and balancing properly. I'm wondering if you've seen anything similar and if these exercises eventually could help with that as well?

      It's hard for me to say without seeing you and getting more detail but I can say that even if you are not able to fully feel/spread/open the foot and toes, there's value in working toward that end. Be patient, consistent, and KIND to yourself ☺️🙏. Good luck!

      Hi there, yes, it will. Part of why the arches have fallen is because of lack of strength.

    It's really amazing that we walk on our own feet for years :) and we don't know these relationships between feet, calves, knees, thighs, buttocks. It's really fascinating! Please tell me what you think about bare foot shoes

      exercises! We need to love and respect our feet so much more as they lug us around all our lives. THANKS

When I was researching, I really enjoyed the reviews on barefootwithnika.com.
