- Idk just a bullshit idea I had a while ago. I wanted to try doing more of a stop motion animation since smooth interpolation is an absolute pain to work with. The process for making this was much nicer than my previous projects as it felt I had complete control over most things.
I'm gonna keep using these two guys for just about everything in the future. They are essentially my OCs with quite obvious inspirations that I modelled from the ground up. Stay tuned for more adventures in this desolate world with two immortal mind uploaded humans, Connor and Chris.

Jokes aside though wow that’s a lot of people and subscribers in a short amount of time for me. Now there’s actual goddamn pressure for me to make a better, higher quality video. Unfortunately I’m going to be quite busy for the next foreseeable few weeks so it’s gonna take a while for more videos. So please don’t stay tuned for more videos I doubt I’ll make anything better. Although I do think one slight improvement you could've made here is to have added an impact frame when he "touches" the explosion.

Genuinely, great animation and 100% an idea I'd expect to see happen at some point. Just the nonchalance of him parrying the blast with his friend just questioning reality. You get a sub from me.
Already pretty good for an animatic, but if I had to criticize *something* it would be how unimpactful it felt particularly on 1:14 because despite it being a nuke, it looks like he's just kinda... standing there. AGAIN THOUGH great animation as is.

@@VenikHue If I may comment on that...
1. Make the subject of the impact *look* like they're struggling. You had the right idea on 1:11 when you made Chris push against the ground here, but to add even more oomph to it, you could've made it so that he was even more bent over and *really* anchoring himself into the ground. Another thing you could've done here was add a bit more struggle in his arms. I get that this is meant to be a stop-motion animation (or animatic? idk the difference), but my man was NOT struggling at ALL there.
2. Make the source of the impact *feel* like it's gonna be impactful. A nuke's shockwave travels _really_ fast, but although it *is* moving fast here at the 1:10 mark, I don't think it does the speed enough justice. I would add more here, but I feel like the advice I'd give here fits better into my third point.
3. Effects. Oh my GOD, effects. Be it visual, auditorial, or hell, ON THE CAMERA (I acknowledge what you did on 0:28, 1:11, and 1:15), this can DEFINITELY ramp things up a notch. I could make an entire LIST of the effects you could add here to make this look better, but to be blunt, I don't think that I'm knowledgeable enough in this department.
4. This next one's gonna be on the far more advanced side, and it's impact frames. Although I doubt it, just in case you're not aware of what they are, they are short, monochromatic frames of am animation made to accentuate a particular... well, y'know... impact. This stuffs pretty advanced imo and I have absolutely next to 0 clue how 3D animators in particular insert them (maybe they separately draw the frames in a 2D drawing software and insert it later?), but they REALLY do help. ULTRAKILL makes use of fairly simple impact frames in the form of freezeframes accompanied by a short sound effect, so perhaps you should take a spin on that and try it out for yourself.
To close this short essay I randomly had the motivation to type on a toilet seat, I'd like to, once again, acknowledge that this all pretty advanced 3D animating tech that a starters like us might not be able to manifest the full potential of yet, so I apologize if I made you read this whole thing just for you to not make use of any of it.
But another thing I'd like to acknowledge here is that you've already taken a very critical step in learning 3D animation, and that is actually animating. You've made character models and rigs, which is already amazing enough for starters, and you've already made yourself quite a few animations, both practice and semi-serious ones. In fact, after re-reading what I just typed, I've come to realize you're a LOT farther ahead in the learning timeline than I am lmao. On a slight side note, you've built yourself a small audience, which can help you build up reputation as a human animator in the future, should AI generated video get out of hand and people start pointing fingers and accusing everyone of being AI "Artists"
Overall, a lot to learn, but a great job has been done here. A great job, indeed.

I felt like it fit well with little impact because of their nonchalance, even though it did feel a tad odd being slowed down and nothing seeming to happen, nor having a big difference to show that it’s slowed down.
Or he actually did stop the explosion from moving and that was in real time.
On the other hand, instead of slowing it down, he could have simply parried it in a very short moment.
@@blobbo5995 good point. since this was meant to be somewhat of a joke video, a goofily short parry where he parries the shockwave of a nuke like it's nothing does sound like it would work better with the context.
When games allow you to do fun stuff like parrying a god damn nuke, that's when you know it's good. Some people would say that makes the game too easy, but those people just like putting themselves through torture I guess.
Also, really good animation. I really love the designs of the robots.
