I Made an Upcycled Paludarium. Here’s How.

  • I knew I wanted to replace the aquarium in the wall with a paludarium, but I wasn't sure where that journey would take me. That was until I was inspired by some junk / scrap materials I had in my storage area. Many of those are covered in glue, plaint, and foam). Others aren't viable for anything on their own. I figured, why not see what I can do by combing pieces together?
I ended up with something incredible! I also think this is a great example of how you could work on a budget by combining small pieces to create large ones. I've done it in the past, but after this, I'll definitely do it more. What do you think of this paludarium? Let me know in the comments!

This was not how I expected this paludarium would end up, but I'm extremely pleased it did. I typically just use these scraps as filler that you don't see in a design. However, I think this is a better use of those pieces and a great example of how you can make something cool from junk! Enjoy the video and have a great weekend SerpaSquad!

I’m so glad I found your channel months ago. It has not only helped me get in to the hobby(29 gallon freshwater community and 12 gallon long betta tank) it’s provided a lot of comfort. My mom was diagnosed with cancer back in August and sometimes when I’m feeling down I binge watch your channel. It’s calming, informative and beautiful. Thank you so much, Tanner!

I've had the fortune of finding him a while ago, I'm loving seeing new folks coming to and appreciating his work, he's a great dude from what I've seen, and I'm glad this channel can be of help to you, it sure has been an inspiration for me to get into terrariums (I also came from the aquarium hobby, I found him early in my aquatic journey as well)
That being said, I'm glad to see ya here and glad to see Tanner and his Channel getting some love. He certainly deserves it. He's helped me tons with various things over the time I've been following. I hope it remains the same for you.
I hope your mom is doing well, keep that morale up for her, it does wonders for them. It's tough, much love to ya, hope you continue to do well in the future and I wish your mother well on her journey. It can be beat ❤

I fell down a CZcams rabbit hole watching your videos and now after 50 years of fish keeping I am out of fish and have built 4 bioactive enclosures. The time spent in construction is an exercise in patience but well worth it. It is a great retirement hobby and everyone who comes into the house is drawn to the crested gecko enclosures. You are the GOAT in naturalistic design. My grandsons and I scavaged the woods and made little terriums for their rooms. Thank you Tanner.

I don't think it's as difficult as you might think, things like broken bottles and flowerpots make good hiding places for fish, you just have to sand off any sharp edges and make sure that there are no places the fish can get trapped. Then maybe throw in some sticks, dried leaves, maybe some thoroughly cleaned animal bones, that kind of thing.
