    I've had this Proxima Tuna in a yellow configuration for over a year now. Not many people seem to like it, but it's one of my favorite watches. It's a love it or hate it design. But it's comfortable, works with many straps or bracelets, is nicely finished (better than what this guy in the video has here. For comparison, I also have up close shots in my vid), and the lume is bombastic.

      What part would you say has better finishing?

    Nice review as usual. I sometimes wonder why the tuna has remained so popular in homages but the similar (to my eye) halios puck homage from steeldive still seems obscure. I picked one up a few years ago, and while it is big and heavy it has a similarly small lug to lug and looks good on almost every strap I tried.

    @bignz721 Před 2 lety +2

    Interesting. I have a Seiko Solar "Safarni" which I love. Wears much smaller than it looks, thanks to the recessed lugs & is quite neutral with it's khaki aesthetics

    another one added to the ever expanding list. the day date function is a plus to me. i dont know how you choose what to wear every day with so many choices. i was on a knife kick in mid 2010's i have zt's and spydercos for days hard to choose what to put in my pocket gives me agida sometimes

      Some days it's pretty hard. Although if I have a review coming up on something, I usually pick that to make sure I've spent enough time to really get to know it.

    Actually don't mind the tuna itself and as much as i like the creative aspects of this rendition & love the dial colour & impressive shots of its sharp finishing , it looks like there's a lot of everything else but dial and lack of (easy)access to the movement is a huge negative + a day complication that'll change by the time you can actually see it . Always enjoy your take & delivery , i think Proxima have way better offerings in their line up with this at the bottom end .

    While I concur with your analysis of the watch in question , to me, the CASE is a turnoff. I see some Invictus that have heinous cases, massively overpowering!! I.e. small wrist mine.

    Hey Shane, thanks for another great review. I'm considering both this Tuna and the Heimdallr Godzilla. Having handled both, which do you think wears smaller? Which has the nicer red dial? And which would you spend your money on 1st?
    Thanks.

    • @RelativeTime
      @RelativeTime  Před 2 lety

      Hey Brian. Between the Two I'd go with this tuna. They are both larger watches, but the shorter lug to lug on the Tuna makes it wear smaller. I also like the sunburst dial a little better, and I think it has slightly better lume.
      Cheers!

    Consider this a marketing response. Great review (as always)! The watch's name: It should be called "Proximo." This would honor the Proximo character in the movie Gladiator. Millions of people would identify with the name.

    I was just wondering how do you remove the crystal on this type of construction to get at the movement 🤔

    • @RelativeTime
      @RelativeTime  Před 2 lety +1

      That's a good question. I'm not sure. Monobloc cases aren't anything new, but I'm not sure if there is anyway to do it that doesn't destroy the crystal.
