hi quick question, do you need to change the pillow that the head is resting on? Or just the 3 pillows for the back, legs, & shoulder?
Hello Joseph,
Prometric requires that the student adjust the pillow that the client is lying on. See step #10 below. So, you should adjust the pillow to support the neck and chin after turning the client lateral.
10 Leave pillow placed under head positioned to also support the resident’s neck and chin?
I want to know if it is okay to raise the bed to a level where you are comfortable to avoid bending too much
Hello Fred, It is perfectly acceptable to raise the entire bed to your waist level. It is NOT required by Prometric. If you raise the bed, you BETTER not forget to lower the bed before you say I am through with my skill. Not lowering the bed will cause you to fail that skill. So, I tell my students not to raise the bed. It is not worth it. Most students are nervous and don't need another thing to worry about during the exam.
Good morning Dr Lee, do I need to raise the bed in any of the skills.
Thank you so much
Hello Chinedu, The raising of the entire bed is NOT a step for the skills under Prometric.
Hello! May I know if the evaluator will tell you what side to turn the patient? Or can we choose any side? Thank you
Hello Cinxth, You will decide the side to turn the client on to.
Umm I have a question. Why does Prometric not test on learning how to make an unoccupied bed but still test on how to make an occupied bed? When I was taking my CNA class I was learning the Pearson Vue way and that was something they had us learn. I get that Prometric and Pearson are different. I’m just curious why Prometric doesn’t teach how to make an unoccupied bed.
Pearson Vue stopped testing on bed making about 7-8 years ago. The state in which you are testing for has some say into what skills are testes. For example, some states don't test for a manual blood pressure while other states will allow students to take the blood pressure skill with an electronic blood pressure machine.
@@txcnaskills2599 HI, WITH PROMETRIC , MANUAL BLOOD PRESSURE IS A SKILL TO TEST ? PLEASE LET ME KNOW IM WORRIED ABOUT IT
@@zoehernandez4817 as far as I know, if you live in Texas they no longer test blood pressure skills
This was one of my skills I forgot one step praying I Pass.
I hope you passed also. Good luck.
Hi Dr. Lee. Quick question, what would be a good way to study for the CNA written exam?
Hello, The best way I know is to review a lot of CNA questions on CZcams or different websites.
I just want to know if we’re repositioning /turning them on their sides on a real person they told me that we need to raise the arm that their going to turn to and put the other arm across the chest, and I just want to know because I have my skills exam today.
Hello Aisha, I pray you passed you exam. You don't need to raise the side rails and you don't have to place the arm across the chest. These are NOT requirements for Prometric.
👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼
Thank you
❤❤❤
Love back at ya.
Dr Lee do I have to wash my hands before every skill?
Hello Ami, You will physically wash your hands for the first skill and tell the evaluator when you would wash your hands at the appropriate times for the remaining 3 skills in Texas.
@@txcnaskills2599 Do you know what the guidelines are for Michigan?
Do I use gloves for this skill?
Hello, Gloves are not required for the position on the side skill.
