    hi quick question, do you need to change the pillow that the head is resting on? Or just the 3 pillows for the back, legs, & shoulder?

    • @txcnaskills2599
      @txcnaskills2599  Před 3 lety +1

      Hello Joseph,
      Prometric requires that the student adjust the pillow that the client is lying on. See step #10 below. So, you should adjust the pillow to support the neck and chin after turning the client lateral.
      10 Leave pillow placed under head positioned to also support the resident’s neck and chin?

    I want to know if it is okay to raise the bed to a level where you are comfortable to avoid bending too much

    • @txcnaskills2599
      @txcnaskills2599  Před 3 lety +5

      Hello Fred, It is perfectly acceptable to raise the entire bed to your waist level. It is NOT required by Prometric. If you raise the bed, you BETTER not forget to lower the bed before you say I am through with my skill. Not lowering the bed will cause you to fail that skill. So, I tell my students not to raise the bed. It is not worth it. Most students are nervous and don't need another thing to worry about during the exam.

  • @Chinedu460
    @Chinedu460 Před 3 lety +1

    Umm I have a question. Why does Prometric not test on learning how to make an unoccupied bed but still test on how to make an occupied bed? When I was taking my CNA class I was learning the Pearson Vue way and that was something they had us learn. I get that Prometric and Pearson are different. I’m just curious why Prometric doesn’t teach how to make an unoccupied bed.

    • @txcnaskills2599
      @txcnaskills2599  Před 3 lety +1

      Pearson Vue stopped testing on bed making about 7-8 years ago. The state in which you are testing for has some say into what skills are testes. For example, some states don't test for a manual blood pressure while other states will allow students to take the blood pressure skill with an electronic blood pressure machine.
