MK4 1.8T Automatic Transmission Removal + Savoy Clutch Ordered!

- First time pulling an automatic clutch from a mk4 and overall it wasnt too difficult to do once I was able to get the proper tools and the right information. Now the 1.8t engine will just chill until its time to start that engine build. The clutch for the savoy also has been ordered and should be here soon and we can finally hear the vr5 come to life!

Good to hear that youve ordered the clutch, lets hope it gets to you this time. Great job removing the auto trans of the mk4, now youve made an indepth video for someone who wants to remove their automatic transmission of a mk4 aswell.
I'm currently removing 09a. Was stuck trying to figure out which triple square to use.
Video very helpful. I'll be ordering a stubby set with ability to use wrench if needed.

Good progress! I needed a triple square for a door bolt years ago so I bought a whole set and I'm glad I did because I've used them multiple times for suspension now.
Things are starting to take shape, can't wait to see what the future holds for these builds!

Would be a good idea to grab the water coolant pipe off the engine you grabbed the trans from. They are different between the auto and stick. Auto ones have a bung that runs to the trans cooler. That way you won’t have to cap or loop it. Just cleaner imho. Coolant flange off the head is different aswell.

Yea nice to see another 09A auto going to be made into a fridge got rid of my Auto on my mk4 V5 for a 6speed ....are you deleting any of the pipe work on the savoy v5 as there seems to be a lot of crazy pipe work running all over the place on my v5 would like to simplify things to make it look a little cleaner🤔🤔
